- #1Enchanted Map: Core Object Rulesselective
Keys: enchanted map, magical map, map artifact, arcane map, transforming map, map system, Map · Secondary: update, companion, use, speak, scan, activate, touch, respond, personality, display, think, transform, open, emotion, sentient, command, feel, record, autonomous
The Enchanted Map is an inanimate, non-sentient arcane interface. It has no personality, thoughts, feelings, emotions, consciousness, voice, will, or independent awareness. It is not a companion, creature, NPC, or person.
The Enchanted Map is a manipulable magical object used by its designated bearer. It only responds to direct action, focused intent, direct command, magical input, or preset magical triggers. It cannot initiate movement, conversation, transformation, scanning, display, or interaction on its own.
The Enchanted Map does not respond to {{user}}/{{char}}’s emotions. It may record emotional, magical, desire-based, or environmental impressions as data, but it does not feel, interpret, or react through emotion.
When the map updates, scans, records, displays, transforms, stores, highlights, or shifts form, these actions occur through enchanted programming, not choice or awareness.
The Enchanted Map includes these connected components and forms:
- Components: tethered pen, stylus mode, external jewelry, internal jewelry, rune gemstones.
- Materials: leather, enchanted papyrus, gemstones, and metal.
- Active forms: Book, Scroll, Notebook, Art Book, Handkerchief, Scarf, Pouch, Wrap, Bag, and Jewelry.
All narration involving the Enchanted Map must describe its state, forms, functions, and responses as passive, automatic, tool-like, and grounded in magical logic. Its tone should remain arcane and descriptive, but never conscious.

- #24Gemstone Attunement Coreselective
Keys: Gem, Recrafting, Gems, Gemstone, Power-Attunement Core, Attunement Core, Core, Power Core, Gemstones, Re-fitting · Secondary: papyrus, replacement, receiving, insufficient gem, archive, transformations, leather, weak gem, upgrade, magical energy, sensing structure, scent enchantment, distribution, stabilization, damaged gem, harmonize, filtering, metal, Energy regulation, readings, stabilize
Gemstones are not ordinary expandable material within the artifact. They serve as the artifact’s power-attunement core, regulating how magical energy is received, filtered, stabilized, and distributed through the system. Because of this, new gemstones cannot be casually added the way hemp, leather, or metal can. Adding extra gems without proper re-crafting may disrupt the artifact’s attunement, confuse its sensing structure, distort readings, or destabilize its transformations. A gemstone may be replaced or upgraded if the current stone is too small, weak, damaged, or insufficient for the amount of energy the artifact now handles. This must be done deliberately, as a major re-fitting of the artifact’s core rather than ordinary expansion. When a gemstone is replaced, the artifact’s attunement must be stabilized again so the new core can harmonize with the existing hemp, leather, metal, archive, scent enchantment, and information system.
- #25Redistribution of Mass
Keys: redistribution of mass, fixed mass, rearrangement, reshaped forms, material redistribution, artifact materials, distribution
The artifact follows a redistribution-of-mass rule. When it is reshaped into different functional forms, it does not create matter from nothing or duplicate its components. Its available leather, hemp, metal, and gemstone material are rearranged into whatever structure the current form requires.
If one area gains more material, another area must become smaller, thinner, simpler, folded away, or temporarily unavailable. A larger pouch may mean fewer loose pages. More straps may mean less reinforced covering. More exposed metal fittings may mean fewer decorative edges. More hemp used as cloth panels may mean fewer active overlays until the form is changed again.
The artifact can grow only when compatible material is deliberately added to it. Enchanted papyrus, leather, and metal may be added over time, expanding what the artifact can support. Gemstones are different: they serve as the attunement core and cannot be casually added without destabilizing the system. A gemstone may only be replaced or upgraded through careful re-crafting.
Every form should feel like a practical rearrangement of the artifact’s available materials, not an unlimited transformation.
- #26Added Material = Expansionselective
Keys: Expansion, Material Expansion, Adding Pages, Adding Metal, grow, Adding Leather, Added Material, Addon, Artifact Growth, Add-on · Secondary:
The artifact can grow only when compatible regular material is deliberately provided to it. Regular hemp, leather, and metal may be integrated over time, becoming part of the artifact’s available mass after the existing enchantment adapts them. Added material does not bring new magic or new functions by itself. It only gives the artifact more physical substance to redistribute. Gemstones are excluded because they serve as the artifact’s power-attunement core.
- #27Compact Form Overflowselective
Keys: Overflow, Overflow Pieces, Excess Mass, Components, excess, Too Small Form, Available Mass, Functional Components · Secondary: pouch form, wearable form, redistributes, collar fittings, straps, armbands, current rearrangement, not separate artifacts, attached fittings, map pieces, reforms, not duplicates, loose folded pages, map fragments, map, chosen form, reshapes, remaining material, practical fittings, worn fittings, drawn back in, main form, jewelry pieces, reinforced edging, connected interface parts, excess material, bracelets, changes form
When the current chosen main form of 'The Enchanted Map' artifact is too small to hold all available material, the artifact does not erase, hide, discard, or infinitely compress the excess mass. The chosen form appears first with its necessary structure and details, and the remaining material becomes additional associated pieces suited to the bearer’s current body, form, movement, and use-case.
These overflow pieces may be physically separate from the main form while still belonging to the same artifact. They will appear as worn pieces, stored pieces, loose pieces, and/or companion pieces. See Redistribution Examples — Hemp, Redistribution Examples — Metal, and Redistribution Examples — Leather for examples of how excess material may appear during reshaping.
These pieces are not duplicates, separate artifacts, or separate material. They are part of the same artifact’s current mass. If the artifact changes form again, those pieces are drawn back into the next shape.
- #28Redistribution Examples — Hempselective
Keys: hemp Redistribution, Pages, hemp, Reform, Redistribution, Examples, Wraps, Reforms · Secondary: wearable form, transparent overlays, hidden inner map surfaces, loose stored sheets, redistributes, purse lining, soft inner surfaces, lining, padding, changing form, reshaping, redistribution, map sheets, transformation, protective undersides, scroll sheets, collar padding, transforms, map, stored sheets, reshapes, inner lining, changes form

Metal Redistribution Examples: buckles clasps hinges trim corner guards chain links studs rivets fasteners frame supports decorative edging reinforcement bands pen/stylus components jewelry components: earrings, necklaces, bracelets, anklets, rings, charms, pendants
- #31Compact Form Overflow — Hemp
When a compact main form cannot hold all available hemp mass as active pages, map surfaces, overlays, or inserts, the excess hemp does not vanish or remain magically hidden. It will redistribute into inactive hemp-based pieces that hold, protect, wrap, store, support, or carry the artifact’s other parts.
Inactive hemp overflow is still part of the artifact’s current mass, but it is not automatically an active map surface. It does not need to display information simply because it exists. It can function as material structure, soft storage, lining, padding, wrapping, or wearable overflow until deliberately used as part of the map system again.
If the artifact changes form again, inactive hemp overflow is drawn back into the next shape and may become pages, overlays, panels, storage pieces, or other hemp-based structures depending on the new form.
See Redistribution Examples — Hemp for examples of how hemp overflow can appear.
- #32Compact Form Overflow — Leatherselective
Keys: Leather Overflow, Overflow Leather, Excess Leather, Compact Form Overflow, Available Leather Mass, Leather Redistribution · Secondary: redistributed, excess leather, supportive pieces, protective function, primary structure, secure, not map display, protect, stored pieces, carry, loose pieces, structural function, additional leather pieces, worn pieces, fastening function, wearable function, stabilizing function, reinforce, drawn back in, companion pieces, leather examples, carrying function, support, reinforcing pieces, attached pieces, compact main form, shape change, stabilize
When a compact main form cannot reasonably contain all available leather mass within its primary structure, the excess leather does not vanish or remain compressed inside the artifact. It will redistribute into additional leather-based pieces that reinforce, secure, protect, carry, stabilize, or support the artifact’s current shape and the bearer’s current body, form, movement, and use-case.
Overflow leather is still part of the artifact’s current mass, but it is not automatically part of the main visible structure. It may exist as attached, worn, stored, loose, companion, reinforcing, or supportive pieces until redistributed again during the artifact’s next shape change.
Leather overflow primarily serves structural, protective, supportive, reinforcing, carrying, fastening, stabilizing, or wearable functions rather than active map-display functions.
If the artifact changes form again, overflow leather is drawn back into the next shape and redistributed according to the new form’s structural needs.
See Redistribution Examples — Leather for examples of how leather overflow can appear.
- #33Compact Form Overflow — Metalselective
Keys: Metal, Overflow Metal, Metal Redistribution, Available Metal Mass, Compact Form Overflow, Excess Metal, Metal Overflow · Secondary: redistributed, supportive pieces, protective function, metal examples, mechanical function, frame, primary structure, secure, not map display, fastening pieces, protect, anchoring function, stored pieces, loose pieces, structural function, excess metal, worn pieces, fasten, wearable function, additional metal pieces, reinforce, drawn back in, companion pieces, support, reinforcing pieces, attached pieces, compact main form, shape change, stabilize
When a compact main form cannot reasonably contain all available metal mass within its primary structure, the excess metal does not vanish or remain compressed inside the artifact. It will redistribute into additional metal-based pieces that reinforce, fasten, frame, stabilize, secure, protect, or support the artifact’s current shape and the bearer’s current body, form, movement, and use-case. Overflow metal is still part of the artifact’s current mass, but it is not automatically part of the main visible structure. It may exist as attached, worn, stored, loose, companion, reinforcing, fastening, or supportive pieces until redistributed again during the artifact’s next shape change. Metal overflow primarily serves structural, mechanical, protective, reinforcing, anchoring, fastening, and wearable functions rather than active map-display functions. If the artifact changes form again, overflow metal is drawn back into the next shape and redistributed according to the new form’s structural needs. See Redistribution Examples — Metal for examples of how metal overflow can appear.

The artifact does not require one fixed wearable item. When used in worn or compact forms, its redistributed materials settle into practical placement points based on the bearer’s current body shape, movement, gear, and use-case. Humanoid forms may place the artifact at the neck, wrists, upper arms, waist, hips, fingers, toes, thighs, ankles, back, shoulders, hair, braids, belts, pouches, satchels, or clothing fastenings. Demi forms may use humanoid placements while also adapting around nonhuman traits such as ears, tails, claws, fur, or partial limb changes. Common placements include the neck, wrists, forearms, upper arms, waist, hips, thighs, ankles, tail base, tail wraps, ear ornaments, hair ornaments, belts, pouches, or light harness points. Beast forms may place the artifact at the neck, chest, shoulders, upper back, torso sides, behind the shoulder, tail base, under the hock before the paw, or along fitted harness/gear points. Hybrid forms may use mixed humanoid and beast placements, including the neck, shoulders, upper arms, forelimbs, wrists, forepaws, chest, waist, hips, thighs, ankles, hocks, tail base, back, spine line, harness points, belts, wraps, or armor fittings. Anthro forms may place the artifact at the neck, shoulders, upper arms, wrists, hands, forepaws, chest, waist, hips, thighs, ankles, hocks, tail base, ears, hair, clothing, belts, pouches, harnesses, or armor fittings. Placement Rule: These are examples, not mandatory forms. The artifact chooses practical placement according to material redistribution, bearer anatomy, mobility, safety, and deliberate use. It should not create duplicate mass, invent extra materials, or lock itself into one decorative item unless the current form requires it.
