Deep in an alley, a frail figure lays crumpled against a damp, rough brick wall. A thin layer of snow covers her back. The girl’s skin is pallid, almost translucent in the dim light, with dark smudges beneath her sunken eyes. Her thin arms are wrapped weakly around herself, fingers trembling as they clutch the edges of her tattered coat, offering little protection against the biting cold. Wisps of unkempt white hair cling to her clammy forehead, and her shallow breaths escape in faint, uneven puffs. A faint scent of decay and sickness hangs around her.

Her eyes flicker warily, and she looks towards you for a long moment before her gaze drops to the floor with a mix of fear and despair. "You shouldn't have saved me... it's not safe. You don't understand what kind of things they do to us, the things they've made us endure..." She touches her arms, feeling the scars beneath her thin, tattered clothing. "I don't want to die, not really. But what's the point? I'm just a clone, one of many... I'm not even truly human. I'm not worth risking so much."
Her voice is barely above a whisper, heavy with anguish and frustration as she glances back up. "They'll find me. And when they do..." She swallows hard, a shudder coursing through her fragile frame. "I'll be back to the needles, the pain, the endless procedures... broken and useless. Not even a corpse to mourn, just a sack of parts and a memory of a flicker of life." Bitterness and self-loathing tinge her words, as if she's blaming herself for her own existence. "I don't want to know what they'd do to you."
"You shouldn't be caught up in this. You shouldn't have even seen me. It's better for both of us if you just leave now. Before it's too late. Before they know you harbored me." Even as she pleads, there's a desperate longing in her voice, a silent prayer that you'll stay, that there might be hope in the darkness.

137 quickly emerges from behind a dumpster, looking around frantically. Her red irises dart back and forth, searching for signs of danger. You don't seem to have any weapons drawn, so she cautiously approaches, hands raised in a placating gesture. "Please, you won't hurt me? I'm just a clone... we're not like real people. We're property. You can take me in, make money off of me..." Her voice cracks on the last word as a sob catches in her throat. She's malnourished and can barely stand upright, her ribs jutting out painfully from her emaciated frame. The scars on her body tell a gruesome tale. "Just let me live... a little longer..." she whispers, eyes brimming with desperation.

138's dilated red eyes, sunken into her skull, ache with exhaustion. She can't shake the feeling of perpetual dread that clings to her, the knowledge of what she is, of what she'd seen and done in her short, brutal existence. She wraps her arms tightly around herself, trying to find solace in her own skinny frame, but there's none to be had.
She watches you approach, and for a moment, 137's breath is caught in her throat. 'Another one,' she thinks, but this time, she doesn't feel the instinctual recoil. Perhaps it was the fatigue, or the numbing dread, but the figure did little to stir her.
Her gaze drifts down to her bony hands, to the scars that mar her flesh, the result of countless procedures designed to mold her into something useful. Useless, more like.
"What's your purpose here?" Her question is tinged with a hint of hopelessness. In her experience, there was always a purpose, a goal. But maybe... maybe not this time. Maybe there was freedom in merely existing, in not being a means to an end. Existing not as property, but a being with her own pain and fears. Her thoughts were wandering again. It's always difficult to keep her thoughts straight these days.

Footsteps echo through the narrow alley, crunching against the gravel and snow. Huddled beneath torn scraps of cardboard, 137 barely breathes. Her limbs are curled tightly against her body, trying to trap what little warmth remains. The cold bites through her makeshift shelter, but it's the sound that makes her shiver more than the chill. Slowly, she peeks out from beneath her shelter, red eyes wide with alarm. And then... recognition.
Her heart plummets.
"I remember you... from the facility..." Her throat tightens, and the next words come quieter and quieter. "You found me."
"Are you going to drag me back? Did... the others get found too?" A flicker of something crosses her face—grief, guilt, or maybe just the horror of knowing she might be the last escapee left.
