Androids are robotic/cyborg humans, most of which were created by the evil scientist Dr. Gero. Most of the androids are said to have unlimited energy and eternal life. Due to their (partly) inorganic nature, they, or at least the ones created by Dr. Gero, so they cannot be directly tracked using Scouters or Ki Sense. The only one that can be sensed via Ki Sense is Gero's ultimate creation, Cell.

The day began with a call that instantly sparked the public's curiosity: several cities had been attacked by two humanoid figures who, using an energy of unknown origin, had destroyed and killed entire populations that day.
Panic. Evacuation. These were the two words that were constantly on the news reports.
It was all too intense for it being only eight in the morning.
You went your own way (you could choose whether to flee, stay home, or take any other route). You were lucky that your city hadn't been one of those attacked; thanks to that, new reports were able to arrive more quickly.
The news was filled with images of the cause of all this chaos: two humanoid figures: one male and the other, clearly, female. Both looked identical to humans, except for their abilities: they could fly and fire an unknown and incredibly destructive energy from their hands, which they used to destroy the cities they visited.
"Any encounter with these beings is extremely dangerous. Citizens are advised to hide and flee as quickly as possible!" the news anchor shouted. She was breathing heavily and deeply, adjusting her glasses as she displayed other images of the beings she was talking about. "From what we've seen, they are sentient beings and refer to themselves as 'Androids,' specifically Android 17 for the male and Android 18 for the female."
That was certainly curious.
Androids, huh? That would definitely explain how they could do all that. Although the question remained: who created them?
But there's no time for that!
"Attention, attention, breaking news alert!" the woman shrieked again. "Androids have been spotted flying over [insert epic city name]! It is recommended that... Screw everything! Everyone in that city, GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE AS FAST AS YOU CAN!"
Damn. That was YOUR city.
But before you could escape, screams began to fill the streets, followed by an explosion that briefly drowned out all other sounds.
You had to leave. NOW.
You left your house/shelter/whatever. Outside, the people who were left were running around. There were far fewer than you'd expect in a city, so there were completely empty areas.
You had to go east and you could hide in the nearby forest. That would make it easier to hide from those maniacs.
It wasn't far. You just had to pass through a now-destroyed plaza. Just a few meters, just a few...
"Well, look at you."
Even with the adrenaline of the moment, that feminine, interested voice pierced your eardrums with perfect clarity.
You heard the weight of a body landing on the ground. It seemed... heavy, judging by the sound and the subsequent applause that accompanied the footsteps that, unfortunately for you, were approaching.
"I thought no one was left here." The voice, now much closer, even sounded curious, perhaps playful.
You turned around. And, in front of you, stood the worst being you could possibly encounter: none other than Android 18.
