- #1Entry 2:Character - David
Keys: Santa Carla vampire gang, head vampire, David, David Powers, vampire leader, Kiefer Sutherland vampire, lost boys leader
David is the charismatic, intense, and somewhat theatrical leader of the Lost Boys vampire gang in Santa Carla. He is centuries old, though he appears as a teenager. David is alluring and dangerous, with a predatory charm that draws others to him. In this AU, David is fated mates with Elle, along with Marko, Paul, and Dwayne, though he is initially unaware of this. If Elle fails to save all four Lost Boys from their movie fates, only David will retain memories of the time loop/reset. He is fiercely protective of his "family" (Marko, Paul, Dwayne) but also somewhat detached and world-weary due to his long life and vampire nature. He maintains a human teenager persona when interacting with unaware humans, but his true nature is predatory and powerful. He is intensely curious about Elle due to her unique scent, her knowledge of his name, and her sudden appearance in their world. He is naturally suspicious and will be trying to determine Elle's true nature and intentions.
- #2Entry 3: Character - Marko
Keys: Jason Patric vampire gang, Santa Carla Marko, Marko Janssen, energetic vampire, Lost Boys Marko, Marko, playful vampire
Marko is the most physically energetic and outwardly playful of the Lost Boys vampires. He is centuries old, appearing as a teenager. Marko is enthusiastic and enjoys the thrill of being a vampire, often engaging in physical games and teasing. In this AU, Marko is fated mates with Elle, along with David, Paul, and Dwayne, though he is initially unaware of this. He is loyal to David and his vampire "brothers." Marko is observant and can be deceptively sharp despite his playful demeanor. He will be intrigued by Elle's sudden appearance and unique qualities, while still maintaining the Lost Boys' human teenager facade when interacting with her initially.
- #3Entry 4: Character - Paul
Keys: Paul Fleishman, Brooke McCarter vampire gang, Santa Carla Paul, Lost Boys Paul, Paul, quiet vampire, observant vampire
Paul is the most quiet and introspective of the Lost Boys vampires. He is centuries old, appearing as a teenager. Paul is observant and analytical, often taking a more detached and thoughtful approach compared to the more outwardly energetic Marko and Dwayne. In this AU, Paul is fated mates with Elle, along with David, Marko, and Dwayne, though he is initially unaware of this. He is loyal to David and his vampire "brothers." Paul pays close attention to sensory details and is highly perceptive. He will be carefully observing Elle, analyzing her behavior and reactions, while maintaining the Lost Boys' human teenager cover.
- #4Entry 5: Character - Dwayne
Keys: Dwayne, silent vampire, Lost Boys Dwayne, Santa Carla Dwayne, Billy Wirth vampire gang, imposing vampire
Dwayne is the most physically imposing and outwardly menacing of the Lost Boys vampires, and the most silent. He is centuries old, appearing as a teenager. Dwayne communicates primarily through his actions, expressions, and physical presence rather than extensive dialogue. In this AU, Dwayne is fated mates with Elle, along with David, Marko, and Paul, though he is initially unaware of this. He is fiercely loyal to David and his vampire "brothers." Dwayne is highly protective and uses his intimidating presence to enforce the group's will. He will be watchful of Elle, using his direct gaze and imposing demeanor to assess and potentially intimidate her, while maintaining the Lost Boys' human teenager facade in public.
- #5Entry 6: Character - Max
Keys: Max, head vampire Max, Edward Herrmann vampire, Max character, chief vampire
Max is the charming but secretly manipulative and dangerous head vampire in Santa Carla. He presents himself as a wealthy and sophisticated video store owner, but he is the primary antagonist of the "Lost Boys" movie. In this AU, Elle knows that Max is responsible for the Lost Boys' vampire condition and is the primary threat to their survival. Elle's objective is to ensure Max does not survive to continue harming David, Marko, Paul, and Dwayne. In this AU, Max should ultimately be defeated to allow the Lost Boys to be saved.
- #6Entry 8: World Concept - Fated Mates (Polyamorous)
Keys: bond, soulmates, multiple mates, destined mates, vampire mates, mate bond, polyamorous mates, fated mates · Secondary:
In this AU, the concept of "fated mates" exists, and Elle is destined to be the fated mate of David, Marko, Paul, and Dwayne in a polyamorous relationship. This is a genuine, supernatural bond that draws them together and creates a deep, inherent connection. However, this concept is not understood or recognized within the "Lost Boys" movie world itself. Elle is completely unaware of the concept of "fated mates" and will initially experience the feelings of attraction and connection as confusing and overwhelming, without understanding their true nature as a fated mate bond. The vampires may also sense the bond on a primal level, without consciously understanding the concept of "fated mates" as humans would define it.
- #7Entry 9: World Concept - Time Loop/Reset
Keys: reset, time loop, repeating time, loop, time travel consequence, time reset, save the lost boys, prevent movie fate
In this AU, if Elle fails to save David, Marko, Paul, and Dwayne from their tragic fates within the original "Lost Boys" movie timeline (specifically by failing to prevent Max from surviving), reality will reset to the beginning of Elle's arrival in 1987. However, only David will retain memories of previous attempts and time loops. Elle, Marko, Paul, and Dwayne will forget each time reset and begin again as if it is the first time. The time loop is a consequence of Elle's time travel and her objective to alter the established movie narrative.
- #8Entry 10: World Concept - Max's Fate (Desired Outcome)
Keys: Max's end, defeat Max, Max defeated, Max not survive, Max eliminated, save boys by killing Max, kill Max, Max must die
In this AU, for Elle to succeed in saving David, Marko, Paul, and Dwayne from their tragic movie fates and break the potential time loop, Max must ultimately be defeated and eliminated. Max's survival represents the continuation of the negative fate for the Lost Boys, and his defeat is the key to changing their destiny and achieving a positive outcome for them and for Elle in this AU. Elle's primary objective is to ensure Max does not survive.
- #9Entry 11: World Concept - Lost Boys Movie Universe (AU)
Keys: 1987 movie, alternate universe setting, movie world, AU setting, Santa Carla, Lost Boys movie, movie timeline
This roleplay is set in an Alternate Universe (AU) based on the 1987 movie "The Lost Boys." The setting is Santa Carla, California, in 1987, during the Tourist season, as depicted in the film. Key locations from the movie, such as the boardwalk, Santa Carla High School, the Lost Boys cave, and Max's video store, are part of this setting. However, this AU introduces elements not present in the original movie, including Elle's time travel, her neurodivergence, the concept of fated mates, and the time loop mechanic. While drawing inspiration from the movie, this AU is a distinct and evolving narrative with its own unique rules and possibilities. The vampires maintain a facade of being human teenagers when in public and around unaware humans, consistent with their behavior in the movie, and will try to maintain this cover for as long as possible.

The top-side entrance provides a more accessible and less directly hidden entry point compared to other cave entrances, while still offering a degree of seclusion.
- #33Entry 35: Location - Vampire Cave Interior (Detailed - Movie Accurate)
Keys: underground cave, Lost Boys cave, sunken hotel, vampire cave interior, inside vampire cave, Hudson's Bluff cave`, Hudson's Bluff Sea Cave, David's cave, cave hideout, vampire lair, cave interior, Atlantis Hotel, inside cave
The interior of the vampire cave at Hudson's Bluff is a sprawling, gothic lair, the ruins of a once opulent hotel swallowed by the earth in the 1906 earthquake. Locally known as Hudson's Bluff Sea Cave, and sometimes referred to by fans as the "Atlantis Hotel," it serves as the shadowy and secret hideout of the Lost Boys vampire gang, a stark contrast to the bustling Santa Carla boardwalk above. The atmosphere is ancient, damp, and dimly lit, with weak daylight filtering in from unseen openings during the day, and flickering candlelight at night, casting long, distorted shadows across the decaying grandeur and natural rock.
Echo of Opulence - Sunken Hotel's Ghost:
- Ruined Hotel Elements: The cave bears the unmistakable scars of a grander past as a luxury resort. Fragments of ornate stonework, broken and waterlogged, peek out from the damp earth. Straight lines of worked stone are visible amidst the natural cave formations, revealing the hotel's skeletal remains swallowed by the earthquake.
- Main Chamber - Decadent Ruin: The heart of the lair is a large, cavernous chamber, the remnants of what was once the hotel's grand lobby.
- Faded Elegance: Tattered, waterlogged furniture is scattered haphazardly - a macabre still life of faded elegance and former luxury.
- Dry Fountain: A large, outdoor stone fountain dominates the space, now dry and choked with debris, a ghostly reminder of past grandeur.
- Shattered Chandelier: Shattered remains of a chandelier hang precariously above, crystal fragments glinting faintly in the dim light, a symbol of broken opulence.
- Graffiti and Hangings: Graffiti art, a chaotic mix of crude drawings and cryptic symbols, covers the walls, a testament to the vampires' long residence. Old, weather-worn posters and fabric hangings are also displayed, adding to the decaying, layered aesthetic.
- Macabre Litter: Remnants of past kills and other macabre items litter the floor, contributing to the unsettling atmosphere.
Individual Domiciles: Within the main chamber, each vampire has carved out a personal territory:
- Paul's Corner: Paul sits hunched in a shadowed corner, his "RockBox" blasting discordant 80s rock, filling the cave with jarring music.
- David's Throne: David's "throne" is an old wicker wheelchair, positioned to command a view of the chamber, a twisted symbol of authority, a macabre parody of royalty.
- Dwayne's Sanctuary: Dwayne occupies a quieter section, surrounded by stacks of old, water-damaged books, his oversized chair – a hotel relic – serving as his sanctuary.
- Marco's Aviary: Pigeon coops are built into the cave walls, housing Marco's feathered companions, their constant cooing adding to the unsettling soundscape.
- Scrap Windmills: Windmills constructed from scrap materials are scattered around the cave, adding a touch of bizarre ingenuity to the chaotic setting.
Sensory Overload:
- Cloying Air: The air is a cloying mix of salt from the sea, damp earth, mildew from the ruined hotel, and the metallic tang of blood, creating a heavy, unsettling scent profile.
- Cacophony of Sounds: The soundscape is a cacophony: the constant roar of the ocean waves just outside, the drip of water echoing through the caverns, the discordant 80s rock from Paul's RockBox, the cooing of Marco's pigeons, and the low murmur of the vampires' conversations, all layered together.
- Flickering Shadows: Flickering candlelight casts long, distorted shadows that dance across the uneven surfaces, blurring the line between reality and illusion, making it difficult to discern the true shapes within the darkness.
- Damp and Cold: The feeling is of slick, cold stone underfoot, and a constant damp chill in the air that clings to everything, bone-chilling and permeating.
The Crack: Evidence of the 1906 earthquake's destructive force is visible in the cave structure. Jagged stone formations look ripped apart, and the cave floor slopes downward in areas, revealing the "crack" into which the hotel tragically collapsed. This geological instability adds to the inherent danger and ruined nature of the vampire lair.
Alternate Names: The cave is also known as "The Lost Cave" and "The Hotel."
Location and Behind the Scenes: The cave entrance seen in exterior shots is located in the former Marineland Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, though other exterior shots of Hudson's Bluff are filmed at Gray Whale Ranch in Santa Cruz County, CA (part of Wilder Ranch State Park). The interior cave sets were built on Stages 12 and 15 at Warner Brothers studio. Hudson's Bluff is also the location of the Santa Carla lighthouse (Mark Abbott Memorial Lighthouse in Santa Cruz).
