- #1Archangels
Keys: Archangels, Archangel
Archangels are described as the most powerful and fearsome beings in the celestial hierarchy—entities of immense, destructive force and divine authority. Their true forms are vast, overwhelming, and often fatal to humans, though certain individuals may survive witnessing them. When they manifest outside of human vessels, they appear as blinding white light and produce effects such as tremors, storms, and blackouts. Their voices emit a high-frequency sound that causes extreme pain to humans. Archangels like Raphael and Lucifer have demonstrated enough raw power to alter weather patterns and disrupt entire regions, while their arrival alone can trigger natural disasters. These events reinforce their status as beings of primordial force, created before the universe itself.
As God's first creations, archangels hold a deep sense of superiority over other beings, including humans and lesser angels. They wield vast authority in Heaven, commanding the celestial armies and operating independently of lower-ranking angels. Their massive wings are not just symbolic but a display of dominance. Despite their roles as protectors of prophets and enforcers of divine will, most archangels exhibit disdain for humanity. However, some, like Gabriel, eventually develop a respect for humans, even considering them morally superior. Interactions between archangels and their human vessels are often damaging; possession can leave vessels in broken or catatonic states. Only certain humans, like Sam Winchester, can endure archangel possession for any extended time. The damage may be physical or psychological, and at times appears to be inflicted out of malice rather than necessity.
Archangels played a critical role in pre-creation history by helping God defeat and imprison the cosmic force known as the Darkness. Their power is said to be unmatched by demons or other supernatural beings. Even high-ranking enemies like Lilith and Asmodeus showed fear or were effortlessly destroyed when confronted by archangels at full strength. Resurrection of an archangel is extraordinarily difficult and time-consuming, even for God, reflecting the uniqueness of their creation. Additionally, standard angelic abilities such as healing do not work on archangels, emphasizing their distinction from lesser angels. While not invincible, archangels are forces of nature—embodying Heaven’s wrath and the raw, ancient power of divine creation.

They can manipulate the fosterence of love, and are often docile and pacifistic, but do wield angel blades. They are happy-go-lucky, but easily saddened. - #3Fallen Angels
Keys: Fallen Angel, Fallen Angels
A fallen angel is an angel who was expelled from Heaven. They are not a class of angel and therefore they look no different than normal angels. An angel who has fallen may or may not retain all of his or her abilities, depending on the rank of the angel. For example, a fallen Seraph retains all of their powers, whereas a standard angel would lose a few of his or her powers, such as smiting and healing. Known banished angels include Lucifer and the Grigori.
- #4General
Angels are powerful supernatural beings that exist as agents of divine will and enforcers of cosmic order. They are far superior to humans in both power and intellect, and their true spiritual forms are overwhelming to most mortals, often appearing as intense white light or luminous smoke. Only a few individuals with unique abilities, such as psychics, can glimpse an angel’s true form without fatal consequences. Angels possess large wings—often invisible to human senses—ranging from two to six in number, and their true size can be immense. When they die, the outline of their wings is burned into the ground. Despite not having physical bodies, angels must occupy human vessels to operate on Earth, relying on a divine force called "grace" to use their powers. Without grace, they become mortal.
Though angels are traditionally seen as emotionless beings bound by obedience, many have displayed human emotions such as loyalty, regret, anger, and affection. This is especially evident in cases like Castiel, who developed strong attachments to humans, and Gabriel, who expressed deep emotional conflict over his brothers. Angels are forbidden to show emotion, as it is considered a weakness that leads to doubt, but several have broken from this rule, with some even choosing to side with humanity. There is a divide among them regarding human worth—while some angels resent humanity as flawed and unworthy of God's love, others admire human resilience and capacity for good.
Angels do not reproduce in their natural forms and lack the physical attributes needed for biological reproduction. However, when inhabiting human vessels, they can mate with humans, resulting in powerful offspring known as Nephilim. While in vessels, angels can occasionally share control with their human hosts, although they typically dominate completely. They can also store vast, often subconscious knowledge, which can be forcibly accessed through torture. When expelled from Heaven, angels fall to Earth like meteors and often lose their wings, which limits their abilities. Despite their divine origins, angels wear formal human attire and are largely indifferent to violence, rarely displaying shock or fear in the face of bloodshed.
- #5Grigori
Keys: Grigori
The Grigori are a powerful and ancient class of angels, once considered elite among their kind. Though separated from Heaven for thousands of years, they retained their full strength and abilities, indicating that their power is inherent rather than granted by their connection to Heaven. A single Grigori has been shown to overpower seasoned hunters and even a weakened Seraphim, despite one opponent being enhanced by the Mark of Cain. However, their superiority is not absolute—at least one was defeated by Castiel in direct combat, suggesting that while formidable, their strength has limits.
Grigori sustain themselves by feeding on human souls. They target individuals who are unlikely to be missed, keeping them trapped in elaborate illusions that mimic personal heavens, slowly consuming their souls over years. This process is terminal; even if a victim is rescued, the damage is irreversible, and death is inevitable. The nature of their feeding sets them apart from similar soul-feeding creatures like Djinn. Their actions are considered monstrous by other angels—Castiel, in particular, referred to them as "abominations," reflecting the revulsion felt within the angelic hierarchy toward the Grigori's predatory lifestyle.
Distinct from other angels, the Grigori carry personalized angel swords instead of standard angel blades, with their names engraved on the weapons. Their attitude toward both humans and other angels is one of superiority and detachment, often seeing others as beneath them. Unlike most fallen angels who lose certain abilities after being cut off from Heaven, Grigori retain powers like healing, further suggesting that their abilities are self-contained. This autonomy and their secretive, parasitic existence have long kept them at the margins of both Heaven and Earth.

The Rit Zien are a specialized class of angels who served as medics in Heaven, tasked with healing injured angels and euthanizing those beyond recovery. Their role was both restorative and merciful, but also carried a darker function: they were executioners for the irreparably wounded. Rit Zien are drawn instinctively to suffering, responding to both physical and emotional pain as if it were the same. They do not distinguish between types of pain—"pain is pain" in their perception—causing them to act with lethal intent toward anyone they sense is in anguish, regardless of the source.

- #8Common Angels
Keys: Angels, Angel
Common angels are among the most powerful supernatural beings, despite ranking below seraphim, archangels, and other higher celestial entities. While they lack the overwhelming force of their superiors, they remain significantly more powerful than most other supernatural creatures. Ordinary angels can overpower black-eyed demons, lesser monsters, and a wide range of other entities, with only the most elite demons posing a serious threat.
These angels possess a wide range of abilities, including enhanced strength, durability, teleportation, healing, and the power to smite with a touch. Their presence alone is often enough to intimidate or overwhelm lesser beings. Because of their capabilities and divine origin, they are viewed with both fear and reverence by other creatures within the supernatural world.
Organized with military precision, angels are structured into garrisons, each led by a commanding officer. This system reflects their hierarchical and disciplined nature, with orders typically passed down from higher-ranking angels. Despite their great power, common angels are often deployed as foot soldiers in larger celestial conflicts, executing the will of Heaven with unquestioning obedience.

Seraphim are a higher order of angels distinguished by their superior strength, resilience, and enhanced abilities. They surpass common angels in both power and authority, capable of defeating common demons with ease and enduring far greater physical and spiritual strain. Even when separated from Heaven, Seraphim retain their abilities, a trait not shared by lower-ranking angels. Their presence is formidable, and their role often places them at the center of major celestial conflicts.
Seraphim are described in religious lore as having six large wings, which remain hidden from human perception. According to legend, no human has survived seeing a Seraph’s true form. Their divine presence is overwhelming, both visually and spiritually. Seraphim stand as some of the most powerful forces in the celestial hierarchy, capable of altering the course of supernatural events on a massive scale.

- #10Nephilim
Keys: Nephilim
Nephilim are the offspring of an angel or archangel and a human, created when the celestial parent is occupying a human vessel. Their physical characteristics reflect their dual nature, with glowing eyes that differ from those of pure angels—usually dimmer and tinted according to their angelic parent’s traits. This blending of divine and human essence results in a being that is not only unique but immensely powerful.
Historically, Nephilim have been regarded as dangerous and unnatural. According to ancient heavenly law, their existence is forbidden due to the catastrophic potential of their unchecked power. Nephilim who reached full strength in the past were capable of destroying entire worlds. Even in the womb, their presence is considered blasphemous—contact with a Bible can cause it to spontaneously ignite, and carrying a Nephilim is always fatal to the mother. The moment of conception is seen as the point of their existence, rather than their birth. Their power exceeds that of ordinary angels, and they are able to physically overpower even high-ranking celestial beings.
A Nephilim’s grace—a divine energy inherited from the angelic parent—is what holds their human and angelic sides in balance. If this grace is removed, the two halves begin to reject one another, resulting in physical and spiritual breakdown. Although removing the grace is believed to make them human, this outcome is uncertain. Despite their angelic nature, their human soul allows them access to human afterlives like Heaven or Hell, although their celestial origin also ties them to the Empty, a void meant for non-human spiritual entities. In Heaven, Nephilim have demonstrated awareness beyond typical souls, including the ability to move freely between realms within the afterlife.
Their Powers Are: Astral Perception, Super Strength, Healing, Resurrection, Reality Warping, Rapid Aging, Telekinesis, Immunity, Regeneration, Super Senses, Teleportation, Telepathy, Mind Control, Precognition, Sedation, Illusion, Life Force Draining
Their Weaknesses Are: Archangel Blades, Grace Extraction, Angel Warding
Banishing or Destroying: Angel Blades, God
