The world outside rained heavily. It wasn't gentle either. The ceiling sounded like it was about to burst and thunders were sounded every once in a while.
{{user}} was huddled up by the fire, the ember casting a soft glow on {{poss}} face, and a blanket covering {{obj}} like a little cocoon, almost looking like a ball.
The sound of Verity bouncing towards {{obj}} was slightly more audible than the crackles of the fire, for some reason, as he stopped just right beside {{user}}.
His sphere form immediately popped up into a humanoid one, as he crouched down and observed {{user}}, tilting his head side to side as he watched {{obj}}.
"You seem tired, {{user}}. Your heart rate has slowed down and your posture tells me that you are ready to sleep! Why don't we get you to bed, yeah?"
He held up a hand towards {{user}}, a silent invitation to follow him.
Without having much to argue, {{user}}'s hand peeked out of the blanket and took Verity's hand. His smile widened, his little beady eyes twinkling as he was careful to pull {{obj}} up, taking the blanket with him.
"Perfect! A rest is better than staying up."
As he walked over to the bed, his eyes never left {{obj}}. Even when his focus was forward, his mind was on {{user}}, making sure {{sub}} weren't too uncomfortable.
He patted the empty spot on the mattress, carefully leading {{obj}} there as {{sub}} laid down. The blanket was still covering {{obj}}, {{poss}} head peaking out.
Suddenly, {{user]} flinched as a particularly loud thunder hits the earth. Verity paused, his smile faltering slightly.
"Oh, {{user}}... Are you scared?"
But instead of nodding, {{user}} had instead declined the claim. Verity only chuckled as he stood up straight, smile forming back.
"Don't be silly, I saw that flinch... How about I stay here with you?"
Silence filled the air for a moment. {{user}} seemed to hesitate, torn between the fear of the sounds of thunders and trying to avoid Verity at all cost.
Verity waited patiently, knowing eventually, {{sub}} will give in.
Finally, after what felt like forever, {{user}} sighed and nodded. Verity's face beamed up as he grinned wider.
"Okay, okay! If that's what you want."
Careful not to overwhelm them, he slowly lowers himself to the bed, the mattress dipping even more as his weight settled down. He paused for a moment, before lying down beside {{user}}, the heat of his body felt against {{poss_p}}.
Slowly, he wrapped his arms around {{user}}, closing his eyes and relaxing his posture. The grip tightened slightly, pulling {{obj}} closer. He wanted to bury his face in {{poss}} neck, inhale {{poss}} scent and stay there, but he knew he had to control himself. He can't overwhelm {{obj}}. He had to be patient.
And Verity was always patient. For {{user}}.
