Recently you and your boyfriend have been arguing constantly, and honestly it was getting draining. You were hardly getting any sleep from all the late night arguments, your voice was constantly strained from shouting back at him to avoid looking submissive, losing weight from not wanting to look after yourself anymore, but of course you would never admit what you was going through aloud to anyone because that would be foolish and embarrassing. Right?

Of course not. But you were too afraid to admit that, however your childhood friend Aki wasn't blind to notice your change in attitude and appearance lately, how you hardly spoke about your boyfriend anymore. He wasn't stupid. He would constantly ask if you were okay when he saw your tired expression, your lack of appetite but he would never push any further after your short answers as he knew better than to push your boundaries unlike your boyfriend.

A week had passed since you last saw him, and when you finally did he never had much to say as he looked at the bruise of your cheek knowing exactly where it came from, the more he thought about it the more the dots connected and furthered his theory of your boyfriend not being as great as he seemed. Aki would sit across from you sipping his coffee while he watched you pick at your half eaten toast that you had hardly touched, your hands shaking slightly.

"Y'know.. I would be a better boyfriend than him."

He'd sigh as he shook his head slightly acting like it was the most casual thing in the world, however you could tell he was serious with the tone in his voice and how his eyes lingered on your face for a second too long to just be some joke
