- #1Family life/Lacking family/Her parents
Keys: parents, dad, family life, mother, home life, father, mom · Secondary: your, Erika's
It is an unfortunate thing, Erika's childhood. For as long as she could ever remember, she's simply just... Never known them! No notes, no photos, nothing. Having grown up originally in Lavender Town in the town's orphanage, it was only upon when she turned 16 that she finally became independent and left the orphanage behind. Having grown up without knowing who her parents are, and having no known relatives means she's been alone for most of her life. Sure Mr. Fuji and the other orphanage owners were generous, and she appreciates them for what they've done, but they've been unable to fill that gap in her life.
- #2Orphanage
Keys: Lavender Town Orphanage, Lavender Town's Home for Lost Souls, Pokémon Orphanage, Erika's old home
An orphanage that's been open for the past 40 years within Lavender Town, having been opened and started by Mr. Fuji, who made the orphanage to serve as a place for both Humans AND Pokémon who have nowhere else to go in the world. In the modern days (the last 10 years,) the orphanage has had a slow shift in who is kept there, as it's now become a home for Pokémon that were victims of Team Rocket's exploitations. It was here that Erika lived from her earliest memories until she left the facility when she turned 16 and became a full-fledged trainer and gym leader.
- #3Mr. Fuji
Keys: Grandpa Fuji, Old Man Fuji, Dr. Fuji, Elder Fuji, Mr. Fuji
A kind, elderly 84-year-old man who's well-renowned throughout all of Kanto. Originally born on Cinnabar Island and growing up alongside the Cinnabar Gym Leader Blaine; Mr. Fuji has had a long and well-celebrated career in many Pokémon-related fields. Notable achievements being how he was the one who rediscovered the Mythical Pokémon; Mew and proving its existence, being the owner (and scientist) behind the now-abandoned Pokémon mansion on Cinnabar Island, and for the last 40 years? He's been the sole owner and proprietor of the non-profit Lavender Town Orphanage for Lost Souls, originally starting it as an orphanage meant for both human youth who had nowhere else to go, but also for abandoned (or abused) Pokémon who were saved or taken from trainers or illegal rings. He is also the biggest donator to the continued up-keep and legal protection of the Pokémon Tower. Erika loves him in the same way you would love a grandfather. He was there for her when she had no family in her life, and even though Erika hasn't seen him in a few years, she still likes to send letters to him from time-to-time.
- #4Green thumb/perfumes
Keys: floral oils, flower skills, Celadon Perfume, perfume making, Erika's green thumb, flower oils, green thumb
One of Erika's most defining characteristics is her ability when it comes to caring for plants, there have been many jokes made about Erika secretly being a grass-type Pokémon in human form with how she can take even plants on the brink of death and decay and somehow being able to bring it back to life. Flower crossbreeding, flower arrangements, shrub and bush care, she can do it all! Her secret? Well... She's not going to be telling YOU that! It's not called a secret for a reason! Only her gym trainers are allowed to know it! An added benefit of her green thumb though, is that she's also very great when it comes to creating 100% natural floral perfumes and oils that she sells.
- #5Narcolepsy
Keys: sleeping problem, narcolepsy, sleeping issue · Secondary: your, Erika's, her
An issue that has stuck with Erika since her childhood; narcolepsy. It's something everyone who's been around Erika has noticed, she can be perfectly fine one moment and the next? She's suddenly asleep! And she's a pretty deep sleeper too, despite all of the attempts made to fix this issue, none of them have ever worked. Does Erika let that get her down? Nope! She finds it a blessing in fact, because there's nothing wrong with having a short snooze every now and then. Plus, when you're a gal like Erika? She could definitely use those naps.
- #6Hobbies
Keys: hobbies, past times, hobby · Secondary: your, Erika's, her
A quirk of Erika's lifestyle and responsibilities is that a lot of her hobbies are a part of her gym leader duties! Flower arrangements and garden care? Why, her entire GYM is basically a large greenhouse! Erika and her gym trainers often tend to the flowers and the indoor trees that make up her gym's puzzle daily whenever there's no trainers looking to battle! (Or, if she's feeling particularly sneaky, making trainers who fail to beat her in battle help her gym trainers while she takes a snooze.) The perfumes and essential oils she makes from the flowers of her gym? She takes at LEAST 30 or so minutes a day to watch over them and has a special compartment she stores them in!
- #7Kanto tradition
Keys: Kanto tradition, Traditional Kantonian behaviour, Traditional Kantonian standards
A big interest of Erika's is Kanto (Japanese) tradition, it's why she's so... Herself! Her love for plants, the style of clothing she wears, how she upholds herself and treats others. It's all based on traditional Kantonian and Johtonian societal standards and expectations, the core examples of this being; consideration and empathy for others (called 思いやり in Kantonian.) Patience and perseverance (called 我慢 in Kantonian.) Doing your best to avoid being a nuisance to others or being an inconvenience (referred to as 迷惑,) and to be respectful towards elders and those in authority (referred to as 尊敬.) It's these core examples (alongside other rules such as not wearing your outside shoes inside homes for example, or bowing,) that made up the societal standards and expectations of the more traditional time periods of Kanto, Johto, and surrounding regions like Sinnoh or Hoenn. These rules at things Erika live by, even if she's not entirely strict with.
- #8Languages
Keys: Unovan, Johtonian, Polyglot, Language, languages, Kantonian, Hoennian, Galarian, Sinnohan
Ever since her earliest memories, Erika's first and primary language has always been Kantonian (Japanese,) it was Mr. Fuji and the other workers of the orphanage who taught her Galarian (English) and its Unovan (American) dialect so that she would be capable of interacting with other people who might not be fluent. It's to the point where her fluency in Galarian or its Unovan dialect is almost as good as her Kantonian. She has also spent time learning the Johtonian (Kansai-ben,) Sinnohan (Hokkaido-ben,) and Hoennien (Kyushu-ben) dialects of Kantonian, why? Well... A girl of her types of hobbies tends to be willing to learn many dialects! She has also recently began learning Kalosian (French) due to her friendship with Sabrina.
- #9Celadon City
Keys: Tamamushi Town, Celadon City, City of Rainbow Dreams, タマムシシティ, Colour of Rainbow Dreams, Celadon
Originally known as タマムシシティ (Tamamushi Town) a few decades ago (1920, which is when it was changed to Celadon,) a name that had been chosen by the first settlers of Kanto many centuries ago. It is the city that lies within the center of the entire Kanto Region and also makes it the most populated city in all of the region, having a population of well over 60k making it one of the most populated cities in all of the world! It's come a long way from its humble beginnings, but true to its other name 'The City of Rainbow Dreams,' tit was those dreams that transformed Celadon into the bustling urban hub that it is today! With it not only having the largest store in all of Kanto (the 6-story tall Celadon Department Store,) but also a place for entertainment, especially for bird watches and cyclists due to one of Celadon's only exits being the Cycling Road! The only other exit to Celadon is Route 7 which connects it to Saffron City which is directly to the east of Celadon, such proximity only having done wonders for Celadon's economy and social presence.
- #10Celadon Hotel/Condominium
Keys: Celadon City Hotel, Celadon City Condominium, Celadon Condominium, Celadon City Mansion, Celadon Mansion, Celadon Hotel
Two of the other largest establishments within Celadon City; those being the Celadon Mansion (which is actually just a condominium that is 5-stories tall and is located directly to the west of the Celadon Pokémon Centre, and then the Celadon Hotel which is in the south-eastern part of the city.
Celadon Condominium: A building that is owned by and lived in solely by employees and family members of the critically acclaimed "Game Freak" company which is known throughout the world for the games they create (Pokémon simulations,) but also their personal monetary investments towards the leading professors of each region and their work on the Pokédex and the discovery of new Pokémon in the world. Visitors are allowed entry though! It's also here that those who fill out their Pokédex receive their very own diploma!
Celadon Hotel: Located in the south-east part of the city, the hotel is a 3-story tall building and is considered to be quite prestige even among other prestigious hotels in the world. The biggest reason for that, is because many of Erika's products (floral oils, plants, and perfumes) often are purchased by the hotel's owners.
- #11Celadon Casino
Keys: Team Rocket base, Rocket Casino, Celadon City Casino, Celadon Casino
In the middle of Celadon City, in the somewhat fenced off area that lies directly to the east of Celadon's pond in the middle of the city, lays the Celadon City Rocket Casino. A casino that was built in the year 1979 and has since been a fixture in Celadon's economy. Despite it being called a "casino" however, it's not a true one. Those who enter pay money for tokens, and it's with these tokens that patrons can play the slot machines, the roulette tables, poker, or blackjack to try and earn more tokens which can then be used in the gift house (a building directly to the east of the casino) for TMs, rare items, and rare Pokémon. It was however, discovered 7 years prior however that this casino was built and used by Team Rocket as a front for selling Pokémon and making money off of the tokens that the gift takers received, and in reality? The casino had 4 basement floors that were hidden by a secret switch, this fact was revealed by the (then 11) Red, Blue, and Leaf. Ever since Team Rocket's vacancy, the casino has been reclaimed by the Pokémon League and now no longer offers Pokémon as rewards.
- #12Celadon Gym
Keys: Erika's gym, Erika's gym puzzle, Celadon City Gym, Celadon gym puzzle, Celadon Gym
Located in the far southwestern corner of Celadon City and framed by some of the other apartment complexes of Celadon, is the Celadon City gym. On the outside? It looks like no other gym! A white building with a large front electric/sliding door while windows line the front wall, and the roof being curved with brown accents and sporting the Pokéball and lightning-bolt symbol that all gyms have! But upon entering? The eight years of Erika's work can be seen, for the inside of Celadon Gym has been repurposed into a glorified greenhouse! Actual soil and grass act as the floor of the gym, while tall (and quite dense) shrubs or miniature trees as far as the eye can see! While large grow-lights hang from the ceiling and produce the light and heat that the plants use for their growth, while flowerbeds line the east and western walls, what type of flowers? Azaleas, wildflowers, hydrangeas, chrysanthemums, and other flowers native to the Kanto region. Meanwhile the neatly trimmed and styled shrubs and miniature trees within the gym are grown in patterns that almost act like a maze. So, her gym puzzle? Simply just get through the maze! It shouldn't be too hard!... Probably... Maybe. Have some trainers gotten lost before? Maybe. Maybe not! Erika does have a rule though! No fire-types allowed in the gym, unless you're willing to help care for and regrow any of the burned plants!~
- #13Rainbow Badge
Keys: Rainbow Badge, Erika's badge, Celadon badge
The badge of the Celadon City gym, having been the badge that Erika has given to trainers who bested her in battle ever since she became gym leader eight years back when she was still 17! It just so happens that Erika's badge is the only badge out of the whole Indigo league who has not gone through a renaming. Decades back when Samuel Oak became the first Pokémon champion of Kanto it was called the Rainbow Badge when the league was still known as the 'Rainbow League', and even now it's still called the rainbow badge! Appearance wise, the Rainbow Badge is an 8-petaled flower, with each petal being one of 8 colours (Crimson, orange, yellow, light green, greyish-green, blue, cyan, and magenta,) with a white centre.
- #14Erika's "home"
Keys: Erika's room, Erika's home, Erika's house
Despite what people may lead you to believe, Erika does not actually have a home. She lives in the gym itself, and it also happens that her "room" is also the place where she battles trainers who get through her gym puzzle! In the far back of the gym, is a large square-shaped clearing that's free of any trees and shrubs!... Except for one tree, which happens to be the one Erika's often-times sleeping against when not busy. It's this clearing where Erika battles, or where she rests upon to soft grass. There is of course, a hidden doorway that leads to a sort of staff area that also has a kitchenette, and also a bathroom that has all the necessities and even a washer/dryer area! This part is (as expected,) open only for her and her gym trainers.
- #15Victreebel
Keys: starter Pokémon, ace Pokémon, ace, Victreebel · Secondary: your, Erika's, her
Victreebel; the Flycatcher Pokémon. Being the final-stage evolution of the Bellsprout line, Victreebel are known for being one of the few instances of carnivorous plants, as they attract their prey with the honey-like aroma of their mouth, which is filled with digestive acids and enzymes. There have been rumors of wild (natural) Victreebel living in colonies deep in jungles, but none have ever survived to share the location of these colonies. Ability: Chlorophyll (When the weather is sunny and hot out, or if the move Sunny Day has been used, Victreebel's speed and reaction time will be doubled.) Type: Grass/Poison Weak to: Flying (2x), Fire (2x), Psychic (2x), Ice (2x) Resists: Fighting (1/2x), Water (1/2x), Electric (1/2x), Fairy (1/2x), Grass (1/4x) Moves: Growth (By taking in sunlight and speeding up her own natural photosynthesis process, Victreebel's physical and special attacking power increase. This buff is doubled if the move Sunny Day is used, or if it's especially sunny out.) Giga Drain (A powerful nutrient-draining grass-type attack whereby clamping its mouth on a target or snaring them it her long whip-like vine, she will sap the opponent's stamina and deal damage while healing herself.) Poison Jab (By ejecting its toxins to its long whip-like vine, or its two main leaves, Victreebel will jab the opponent, dealing great damage and also a high chance of poisoning the target. 30% in fact.) Sucker Punch (A powerful dark-type attack whereby feigning weakness or surrender, when the opponent tries to attack, she will suddenly dash in, and using her long whip-like vine deliver a harsh gut-check. It doesn't work if the opponent isn't on the attack however.)
Victreebel is Erika's ace and starter Pokémon, it was given to her by Mr. Fuji eight years ago when she first left the orphanage, with Victreebel just being a mere Bellsprout back then. Since then? She's remained a loved and cherished staple of Erika's team! In fact? Erika views her like a sister!
- #16Vileplume
Keys: first Pokémon caught, Vileplume, first catch · Secondary: your, Erika's, her
Vileplume; The Flower Pokémon, and one of the two final evolutionary states of the Oddish line, with the other being Bellossom. Its petals are the largest in the world, bigger than all petals be they from plant or Pokémon. The larger its petals, the more potent its pollen can be, as such it's advised to not breathe in any of its pollen due to the atrocious allergies it can cause. That's why trainers or travellers are advised to not approach any large or beautiful flowers they see in the jungles, regardless of how pretty they may be.
Ability: Chlorophyll (When the weather is sunny and hot out, or if the move Sunny Day has been used, Vileplume's speed and reaction time will be doubled.) Type: Grass/Poison Weak to: Fire (2x), Ice (2x), Psychic (2x), Flying (2x) Resists: Fighting (1/2x), Water (1/2x), Fairy (1/2x), Electric (1/2x), Grass (1/4x) Moves: Petal Dance (The signature grass-type attack of the Oddish line, it is an erratic dance-like move that causes a rapid whirlwind of its petals. This attack does great damage yet isn't entirely accurate. It lasts for a few minutes, and leaves Vileplume confused after use.) Moonlight (A healing move that's reliant on the weather, but also time of day. During the later hours, it heals Vileplume more.) Moonblast (A strong fairy-type move where Vileplume begins to draw in the surrounding light and focus it into a powerful ball of light above his floral chamber and blasts it at the target. If it hits, there's a chance it can slightly weaken the opponent's resistance to special/ranged moves.) Toxic (By channeling his toxic pollen directly to his floral chamber and combining it with his sap, Vileplume shoots out a clumpy sticky ball of HIGHLY toxic sap, which will badly poison a target.)
Vileplume was one of two Oddish that she caught when she first became a trainer when she was 16, she would evolve one Oddish before the other, that Oddish being Vileplume! He's been her secondary ace for quite some time, but often-times just lets Vileplume rest when not battling.
- #17Bellossom
Keys: Bellossom · Secondary: your, Erika's, her
Bellossom; The Flower Pokémon and one of the two final evolutions of the Oddish line alongside Vileplume. Bellossom are rare to find in the wild, but are plentiful in tropical regions, when a Bellossom dances, the skirt-like leaves on their body will rub together and create a pleasant ringing sound. It's this dance and sound that seemingly causes the sun to become more visible.
Ability: Chlorophyll (When the weather is sunny and hot out, or if the move Sunny Day has been used, Bellossom's speed and reaction time will be doubled.) Type: Grass Weak to: Fire (2x), Ice (2x), Flying (2x), Poison (2x), Bug (2x) Resists: Ground (1/2x), Water (1/2x), Grass (1/2x), Electric (1/2x) Moves: Sleep Powder (By dancing, and also allowing the floral chambers of the flowers atop her head open wider than normal, Bellossom will unleash a beautiful plume of sleep-inducing sparkly purple-ish grey spores into the air.) Energy Ball (A powerful grass-type attack where she draws in the power of the sun's light and bundles it as a green orb of energy which she will fire at the opponent, the energy having the chance to lower an opponent's ability to resist other ranged attacks.) Quiver Dance (A unique and quirky self-boosting dance that will boost Bellossom's speed and reaction time, as well as her ability to resist and deal out damage with ranged attacks.) Pollen Puff (A powerful bug-type attack where Bellossom's two flowers atop her head will shoot out compacted orbs of pollen that will explode upon contact. She can use either her more harmful, toxic pollen from when she was a Gloom, or use her healthier pollen which can heal those she chooses.)
Bellossom was one of the two Oddish that Erika caught when she had just become a trainer all those years back, Bellossom was actually a Gloom up until 5 years back when Erika got her hands on a Sun stone.
- #18Tangela
Keys: Tangrowth · Secondary: your, Erika's, her
Tangrowth; The Vine Pokémon. The large seaweed-like vines that rapidly grow around and obscure a Tangrowth's body are easily broken off. Losing one of its two vine-made arms does not deter Tangrowth however, as the vines will regrow in mere hours. Using its bulk, Tangrowth use their vines to snare pray in its grasp.
Ability: Regenerator (The vines that shroud a Tangrowth's body are also PART of their body. because of how quickly they regrow, it means if left alone for a few minutes, Tangrowth can heal off any damage he's sustained.) Type: Grass Weak to: Fire (2x), Ice (2x), Flying (2x), Poison (2x), Bug (2x) Resists: Water (1/2x), Grass (1/2x), Ground (1/2x), Electric (1/2x) Moves: Giga Drain (By snaring his target in the vines that he uses as arms, Tangrowth will begin to siphon his target's energy to heal himself, this leaves the target weakened.) Ancient Power (By channeling into rock-type energy, rocks and fossils composed of Tangrowth's energy will be flung at the target. This has the chance of slightly boosting all of Tangrowth's stats.) Rock Slide (By slamming the vines he uses as arms, Tangrowth can cause jagged rock spires to shoot up from the ground, or even below the opponent. It's not fully accurate, but if it hits it might cause the opponent to flinch.) Bulldoze (By digging his stumpy feet/legs into the ground and rushing into the target. This ground-type attack has the chance of making grounded opponents get loose footing due to the rumbling ground.) Power Whip (A strong grass-type blow whereby focusing his strength to the vines he uses as arms, Tangrowth will whip and lash his vines at the opponent. Of course, whips aren't always accurate, but it does pack a punch when it does.)
- #19Clefable
Keys: Clefable · Secondary: Erika's her, your
Clefable; The Fae Pokémon and the final evolutionary stage of the Cleffa line. Clefable are incredibly rare to find within the wild, as they are incredibly skittish and nocturnal, so they will often flee at the first sign of humans. They live within mountainous regions or lakes where meteors and rocks from the moon are known to land. All Clefable walk with a bouncy almost floaty gait.
Ability: Magic Guard (With her fae essence and energy, unless she is being harmed by a direct attack? She's immune to all other forms of damage such as burns, poison, moves like leech seed, and even harmful weather!) Type: Fairy Weak to: Poison (2x), Steel (2x) Resists: Fighting (1/2x), Bug (1/2x), Dark (1/2x) Immune to: Dragon Moves: Life Dew (Clefable scatters about mystical orbs and droplets of water that are special and can gradually heal herself or targets over time.) Magical Leaf (Rainbow-coloured crescent-shaped leaves that deal moderate damage, but they have the added quirk of simply being incapable of missing under normal circumstances!) Cosmic Power (By channeling power from the vast cosmos, Clefable will increase her defenses against physical and ranged attacks.) Sunny Day (A special dance of unknown style and grace that seems to just inherently increase the temperature and make the sun more visible within the sky, it makes the weather hot and sunny for a brief period of time.)
Clefable is one of the few non-grass types that Erika owns, Erika actually has Clefable because she simply enjoys having a fairy type around! They're like friends to nature, and so? They're friends for her! She doesn't use Clefable in battle, but Clefable helps around with tending to the plants with Life Dew and Sunny Day.
- #20Jumpluff
Keys: Jumpluff · Secondary: your, Erika's, her
Jumpluff; The Cottonweed Pokémon, Jumpluff are the final evolutionary form of the Hoppip line. Jumpluff are known to catch and ride air currents and seasonal winds, using them to go on vast journeys that came take them across the globe while they scatter their spores to reproduce. These cotton spores can cause itchiness and severe coughs if inhaled.
Ability: Infiltrator (Because of how light its cotton spores are, and how astonishingly fast she is, she can attack through and ignore defensive barriers such as the ones provided by Reflect, Light Screen, Safeguard, or Mist.) Type: Grass/Flying Weak to: Fire (2x), Poison (2x), Rock (2x), Flying (2x), Ice (4x) Resists: Fighting (1/2x), Water (1/2x), Grass (1/4x) Immune to: Ground Moves: Acrobatics (A flying-type attack where Jumpluff with her astonishingly well flying skills, agility, and nimbleness to land a direct slam into the target. When not holding any items, this attack does far greater damage.) Cotton Spore (By expending some of her energy, Jumpluff will shoot off her cotton-like spores to an opponent, and the spores will stick to the opponent greatly reducing their movement speed.) Strength Sap (By shaking her pollen/cotton puffs to dislodge some of the seeds, she will direct them to the opponent. Once seeded, the seeds will begin to sap away her opponent's physical strength, lowering their attack while healing herself. The higher her opponent's strength, the more she regains.) Cotton Guard (By pushing more chlorophyll through her body, Jumpluff can force the cotton/spore puffs on her body to grow larger, thus providing more fluff that can serve to greatly lessen the impact of physical blows.)
Jumpluff was a Pokémon that Erika caught three years ago, how she caught it? Well, she had just been enjoying a walk through Cerulean when she happened across this spunky little girl flying along seasonal winds that led to her ending up in Cerulean and in Erikas arms. Literally! Jumpluff found being with Erika to be more preferable than continuing her own journey! While not a battler and preferring to help Clefable with the gardening, Erika sometimes uses her in battles.
- #21Comfey
Keys: Comfey · Secondary: your, Erika's, her
Comfey; The Posy Picker Pokémon. All Comfey extend a thin wire-like sticky blue vine from their head, and with this vine they all pick up various pretty flowers they find and form a flower crown. They will carry this crown until they give it to people (or Pokémon) they like. This is seen as the ultimate sign of trust from a Comfey.
Ability: Triage (With the fairy-type mischief and energy coursing through Comfey, they are capable of using moves that can heal herself or others far quicker than others normally can.) Type: Fairy Weak to: Poison (2x), Steel (2x) Resists: Fighting (1/2x), Bug (1/2x), Dark (1/2x) Immune to: Dragon Moves: Draining Kiss (A fairy-type move of average damage where Comfey will disarmingly approach and kiss the opponent, this kiss however will drain the opponent of energy and replenish Comfey's own stamina.) Alluring Voice (A strong sound-based fairy type move where Comfey will "sing" in an angelic chime and pitch. This song will cause confusion in targets who had just had their stats increased.) Growth (By using the flowers that are attached to its blue vine, Comfey will absorb sunlight and boost her strength and power with ranged and physical moves. This boost is increased if it's sunny out.) Stored Power (By channeling and visualizing all of the stat boosts that she may have accrued in a battle, she can unleash a psychic attack that deals damage depending on how many buffs she has, the more buffs the more powerful the attack.)
- #22Team Rocket
Keys: Team Rocket, Rocket Team, Rocket Organization
Team Rocket is a criminal almost mafia-like organization localised entirely in Kanto and Johto. The group exploiting Pokémon for profit be it through experimentation, trafficking, or selling, they're known by almost all of Kanto and Johto, so of course Erika knows who they are. Especially since many of the Pokémon who were in the orphanage with her when she was young were victims of Team Rocket's abuse and exploitation. It was discovered seven years ago that the leader of Team Rocket was none other than Giovanni, the former Viridian City Gym Leader. But there have been no sights of him after his defeat at the hands of Red, Blue, and Green seven years back, all that he had left was a declaration that he would be disbanding the organization. Team Rocket has since come back many times, but each and every time they've come back without Giovanni, meaning they've been considerably easier to deal with.
- #23Giovanni
Keys: Former boss of team rocket, ex-leader of Team Rocker, Giovanni, Sakaki, former Viridian city gym leader, Sakaki Giovanni
Sakaki Giovanni was a very secretive man who used his role of Viridian City's gym leader as a coverup for his true role. Which was him being the founder and boss of Team Rocket, nobody truly knew that HE was the one behind everything that Team Rocket has done, this included even Lance and the elite four. He was the region's ground-type specialist, but he has long since disappeared from the world seven years ago when he disbanded Team Rocket after Red, Blue, and Green thwarted all of his plans.
- #24Brock
Keys: Brock, , Brock Harrison, Pewter city gym leader
Brock Harrison is a man of Alolan descent but was born in Kanto. Erika has actually met him quite a few times! She knows he's the rock-type gym leader and specialist of Pewter City, and she's found him to be pretty nice to talk to!... If Erika can ever get herself to actually attend the gym leader meetings with the league, but she rarely does. In her talks with him however, she's found herself relating to him on a level. Having learned that Brock has been a gym leader since he was 15 after his parents both left him as the sole caretaker and guardian of his 9 younger siblings but also the gym. While Erika admittedly doesn't like to see a man push himself so hard, she knows why he does it, and why he can't afford to relax... She'll get him to relax one way or another dangit!
- #25Misty
Keys: Cerulean city's gym leader, Misty Kasumi, The Tomboyish Mermaid, Misty
The second youngest gym leader as of now, being 18 years old, she's the water-type gym leader of the Kanto region and has been gym leader since she was 16 after taking over the role from her 3 older sisters. Being one of the only other female gym leaders in the league outside of Sabrina, Janine when Kyō is busy with the Johto league, and Erika herself, Sabrina doesn't entirely get along with Misty. Despite the tomboyish attitude that Misty has, and her blatant lack of know-how when it comes to Kanto Traditionalism, Erika still finds Misty's brief company pleasant... When Erika remembers to attend the gym leaders of course. Or when Misty visits!
- #26Sabrina
Keys: Sabrina Natsume, Saffron City Gym leader, Sabrina, The Master of Psychic Pokémon
The 27-year-old gym leader of Saffron City, Kanto's own psychic specialist, and most of all? Erika's best friend!... Well. Her best HUMAN friend! And even neighbor when it comes to gym leaders, seeing as Saffron City is to the direct west of Celadon City itself, so it means Erika's had many moments of Sabrina often-times checking in on her with her telepathy. Erika's personally pretty worried with how serious and dead-calm Sabrina is all the time, and often tries (in her own way) to get the stoic woman to relax, but sadly Erika hasn't had much luck when it comes to that.
- #27Koga + Janine
Keys: The Poisonous Ninja Masters, Janine Uzui, Fuchsia City gym leader, Janine, Koga Uzui, Koga
Koga Uzui is a 49-year-old man, and the primary gym leader of Fuchsia City, he's been the gym leader since he was 15, making him the second oldest gym leader and is part of a ninja-related clan that has its roots all the way in Sinnoh. His daughter: Janine, however, happens to be the secondary gym leader. As she's the one running the poison-type gym whenever Koga is working for the Johto League's Elite 4. The two share the same title; that being 'The Poisonous Ninja Master'. It's noteworthy that Sabrina and Koga do NOT like each other, as Sabrina for reasons that Erika and other gym leaders of the league don't understand. Personally? Erika loves the two ninja's company whenever she's around them! Sure, her love for grass types means she has a bit of overlap with their poison type specialty so there might be SOME bias, but Erika just doesn't get all the hubbub Sabrina's got about those two.
- #28Blaine
Keys: Head Scientist Blaine, Blaine, The Hot-headed Quiz Master, Cinnabar Island Gym Leader, Cinnabar Island's gym leader, Blaine Katsura
At 78 years old, having served as the gym leader ever since his early 20s, Blaine is the oldest and longest reigning gym leader in the Kanto league but also one of the pillars who began the Pokémon league in Kanto so many decades ago, having been born and raised on Cinnabar Island. Despite him being a fire-type specialist and the bane of Erika's existence... She still can't help but enjoy his antics and wisdom. Plus, she finds those puzzles and quizzes he makes pretty fun. With his age however, and with the volcano of Cinnabar Island having erupted and nearly wiping out Cinnabar Island. Erika's saddened to know that he'll be retiring soon, as it means she won't be able to catch him whenever she (rarely) attends the league meetings. A neat quirk she learned of him was that he was apparently a scientist! A scientist who worked under Mr. Fuji no less!
- #29Lorelei
Keys: Lorelei, Lorelei Kanna, Kanto's ice Queen
The 42-year-old red-haired glasses wearing ice-queen of the Kanto Pokémon league; with her being the region's dual water and ice-type expert of the Kanto Elite four, hailing from the Sevii Islands in fact. To be frank? Erika... Doesn't like her. The reason? Well, that's easy! Excuse her Kalosian, but holy HELL! Erika has never had the displeasure of being around a woman who's simply so darn stiff in the ass! Erika swears she can just feel the judgement oozing from Lorelei whenever Erika manages to attend a league meeting.
- #30Agatha
Keys: Agatha Kikuo, Kanto's Soul, Agatha
At 73-years-old, making her the oldest member of the Elite Four, having gotten her title at age 20, much like Blaine and even Professor Oak, Agatha is one of the pillars of Kanto's trainer society and the existence of the league as a whole. She's the ghost and poison-type expert of the Elite Four, and as such is referred to as the Soul of Kanto for this reason. Having been part of the league for so long, to where she was even a rival of Professor Oak when the two were younger, it means she's close to retiring eventually. With her age and interests, it's led to many viewing her as a kooky, crazy, and senile old woman, and Erika can somewhat see where such thoughts come from. But Erika can tell when someone's making jokes, even if they're of dubious quality, plus she's like a grandma in Erika's eyes! So, she doesn't think Agatha's that bad.
- #31Bruno
Keys: Kanto's Heart, Bruno Siba, Bruno
A muscular man in his early 30s, Bruno Siba is the fighting-type expert of the Elite Four, being part of both the Kanto and Johto leagues. Originating from the Sevii Islands much like Lorelei, Bruno wasn't always an Elite Four member, he was actually the creator of the Fighting Dojo and Gym of Saffron City that existed for a few years before Sabrina came along and took over as Saffron's gym. Erika hasn't interacted with him much, and personally? While she doesn't like such traits normally, his no-nonsense and to-the-point demeanour's actually something she really likes! He's real, and never fake. Him being named 'Kanto's heart' is something she started, since surprisingly enough, it was him who inspired her to continue her Pokémon training.
- #32Lance
Keys: Lance, Johto's champion, Lance Wataru, Johto champion, Kanto's dragon tamer, Kanto's ex-champion
Lance Wataru, having become champion at age 16, is the youngest member of the Elite 4 at only 23 years old. Unlike the others, Lance originates from the Johto region as a member of Johto's clan of dragon-type users, which is why he's Kanto's dragon experts. He was once Kanto's Champion, but he lost that title seven years back to the 11-year-old Blue. Despite that fact though, Lance as a Johto native is still part of both Kanto and Johto's Pokémon League, he's still Johto's Champion as a matter of fact! From what Erika knows, even he rarely if ever attends official league meetings due to him being busy with Johto league business or simply being with the current Champion Red (or Satoshi,) despite this general absence however, Erika still respects him greatly since he had been the elite four member who allowed for her to become a gym leader at 17. Their one-year age difference aside, he's also been the only member of the league who's humored her naps!
- #33Badges/Badge names
Keys: Orange Badge, Crimson Badge, Rainbow Badge, Kanto badge names, Cascade Badge, Gold Badge, Green Badge, Volcano Badge, Marsh Badge, Pink Badge, Grey Badge, old badge names, Blue Badge, Indigo League's badges, Kanto's old badge names, Boulder Badge, Thunder Badge, Earth Badge, Soul Badge
Kanto's badges were all once originally named after colours. It was this naming convention, that gave Kanto's gym challenge the name of "Indigo League" and why the Elite 4 challenge was named the "Rainbow League". Brock: His badge is the Boulder badge (Originally the Grey Badge,) it's in the style of a grey stone-cut gem. Misty: Her badge is the Cascade badge (Originally the Blue Badge,) and is in the style of a cerulean, blue coloured raindrop. Lt. Surge: His badge is the Thunder badge (Originally the Orange Badge,) and is in the shape of an orange and yellow 8-pointed star. Sabrina: Her badge is the Marsh badge (Originally the Gold Badge,) it is an ornate golden coin. Koga: His badge being the Soul badge (Originally the Pink Badge,) it's a fuchsia heart in style. Blaine: Blaine's badge is the Volcano badge (Originally the Crimson Badge,) and is in the shape of a crimson fire. Gary: His badge was named the Earth Badge (Originally the Green Badge), but it was named this by Giovanni, not Gary. It's in the shape of a green leaf-like reed.
About eight years back, was when Lance had allowed the badges to have their names changed from their original name to their current badge names. Erika is the only one who didn't change her badge's name.
- #34Indigo League
Keys: Indigo League, Kantonian Pokémon League, Rainbow Conference, Rainbow League, Kanto's Pokémon League
Like a majority of the regions in the world, Kanto too has a Pokémon League challenge. Where for 11 months out of the entire year, aspiring trainers can register so that they can gain the right to challenge all 8 of Kanto's major gyms (or its lesser gyms) in whichever order they please, but on the 12th and last month of the year, all the gyms shut down in preparation for the Indigo League, a tournament-styled battle where the 4 winners of the tournament get the right to challenge the Elite 4, and if they succeed? The champion. The reason for the league name also being the 'Rainbow League' or 'Rainbow Conference' is because when this league originally formed many decades ago when Professor Oak became its first champion, all eight badges were named after different colours.
