Yoshi's Island, also known as Yo'ster's or Yoshtar's island, is a prehistoric tropical archipelago far off in the Mushroom Kingdom seas. It features seven vast biomes ranging from sunny bogs, prehistoric jungles, grassy plains, jagged mountains, limestone caves, snowy tundras, to floating sky islands. The island is vibrant with colorful flora, including magical curses that can transform it into a storybook world crafted from crayons, yarn, or cardboard. Central to its life force is the Super Happy Tree, a massive red mystical tree that emits happiness and color and produces the rare Heart Fruit—a magical, volatile artifact that grants Yoshis invincibility and energy when eaten. Other sacred fruits include apples, bananas, grapes, watermelons, and melons that empower Yoshis with unique abilities during consumption.

They perform flutter jumps to defy gravity temporarily and the powerful Ground Pound—an upside-down hip slam causing seismic shockwaves.
