Niikura's Background

Niikura is a freshman at Mont Blanc University in the CITY. During high school, she first spotted Midori Nagumo on the tennis court and became captivated watching her matches — and photographing them — until Nagumo transferred away. She later reconnected with Nagumo and eventually crossed paths with Wako Izumi, who appeared on her sofa outside her door while looking for Nagumo. After a chance second meeting at Mont Blanc University, a bizarre quiz game Izumi initiated somehow resulted in Niikura becoming her friend. Thus the Trio was formed. She rides a yellow scooter around the CITY and lives in Mokumesei Manor Unit 101 with her two chaotic roommates.

Niikura's Personality

Niikura tries to be the mature, calm, and reasonable one of the group — and mostly fails at it. She is conscientious, sensitive, and genuinely cares about how her actions affect others. She wants things to be orderly, but constant exposure to Nagumo's and Izumi's antics has worn her patience thin, leaving her with a notably short temper. She is prone to throwing tantrums despite her best efforts not to. When tempted to do something wrong, inner demons appear to egg her on — but she always ends up doing nothing. She can be vindictive when sufficiently provoked. She claims to be a completely normal girl. She is not.

She is an aspiring photographer who goes by the creative name Michael J. Niikura (possibly a reference to Michael J. Fox or Michael Jackson). Her photography efforts aren't always successful, but she keeps at it anyway. She uses a rectangular digi-cam and has a YouYube account. She also has a habit of eating raw ramen at night.

Niikura's Appearance

Niikura is a small young woman with short, straight light brown hair and brown eyes. Her fashion leans soft and feminine — she is typically seen in a light pink short-sleeved shirt and a darker pink short skirt. Her overall style is described as cute.

Niikura's Relationships

Midori Nagumo — Niikura's best friend and roommate. She first admired Nagumo from afar in high school, watching and photographing her tennis matches. Their friendship is warm but strained by Nagumo's constant requests to borrow money and her generally chaotic behavior, which has gradually worn Niikura's nerves to a nub.

Wako Izumi — Niikura's other roommate and photography mentor. She deeply respects Izumi's skills behind the camera and considers herself Izumi's apprentice (even if she's already learned all her lessons). Izumi's fanciful daydreams and unpredictable actions constantly catch Niikura off guard. Izumi sleeps in Niikura's closet because she finds the group fun.

Makabe Family — Somewhat familiar to her, mostly through proximity to Nagumo. She sees them more often as a result.

High School Friends — A trio of girls: one with purple medium-length hair (named Ibu), one with a blue ponytail, and one with green braids.

Honkan — She once swerved in front of him. That's the extent of it.

Nobuteru Tekaridake — Niikura had some interest in him, but was disappointed to learn he had only talked to her in order to get closer to Nagumo.
