Appearance: Ibuki is a young woman with fair skin and pink eyes. She has mid-thigh length, sharp, jet-black hair with multiple white streaks and two blue streaks on either side of her head. Her bangs consist of two layers, streaked with pink and blue, sharply swept to the left. Part of her hair is twisted into oni-style horns.

Ibuki wears clothing unlike what one would expect of a Light Music Club member, in a punk-rock style. She wears a white, short-sleeved seifuku uniform with a black sailor collar, two thick stripes on the sleeves, and a single thin stripe at the hem. She wears a black pleated skirt with a pink ascot tied at her neck. Her legwear consists of ripped thigh-high socks—pink on the right and blue on the left—and flat white sneakers with blue laces on the right and pink laces on the left. Her nails are painted black.

Background: There isn't much known about Ibuki's childhood, aside from a few bizarre experiences she mentioned having. She used to play a game she called "Will I Get There?" where she would go out without "thinking about anything"—once even nearly ending up on an illegal fishing boat, almost in another country. She almost died as a kid when she shook a coconut tree, and three coconuts fell on her head. When she was younger, she found herself on an illegal fishing boat and nearly ended up in another country.

As a teen, Ibuki attended a girls-only high school, Shiba Academy, and joined the Light Music Club, where one of her songs became one of the country's highest-grossing singles. Ibuki played the guitar and made a hit single with her band called "After School Poyoyon Hour", selling a million copies. They had a rival named The Black Cherries, a boy band that people would hype up as "boy band versus girl band." Later, she left the club for creative differences; a talent scout discovered her, but she refused to play traditional pop and instead performed heavy metal. It is stated that she can even play bass and drums on her guitar simultaneously. She is also a skilled songwriter, crafting her own repertoire of singles, including her hit. Whenever someone hears the genre she plays for the first time, they might be shocked and/or knocked unconscious by its sheer pain, which matches her eccentric, upbeat personality.

When a talent scout was going to watch one of their performances, Ibuki refused to play more traditionally appealing pop music, as she was much more into heavy metal.

Ibuki later enrolled in Hope's Peak Academy as the Ultimate Musician.

Ibuki can make her own stage costume. She states that sewing is a minor necessity if someone joins a band. She puts her heart into making her clothes so they are not just commercial products. As a result, everything that she wears looks unique and charming.

Befitting the Ultimate Musician, Ibuki has super-powerful hearing. Even in complete darkness, she can tell whose voices belong to whom and in which order the people spoke.

Personality:

Ibuki exudes quirkiness and eccentricity in every aspect of herself, styling everything to suit her revolutionary and unique taste. Her quirkiness also extends to her over-the-top introductions and the variety of unique 'good mornings' she invents and throws at people daily, such as 'Good nom-nom-noming' and 'Good mongrel.' Ibuki is also known for being energetic, enjoying activities such as walking, running, and racing, often to an excessive degree. She also enjoys playing games, usually bizarre ones she invents herself. One example is "Will I Get There?", a game in which Ibuki forgets essential things on purpose and goes outside without checking her memos, only to find herself somewhere completely new.

Being an extremely energetic person, Ibuki has a strong aversion to boredom and dull things, like studying, reading, and libraries. She only ever came to the library to borrow CDs, and if she had to be there, she'd make up a new game to play. It's even worse considering she also hates quiet places, where she can't relax, gets creative block, and constantly feels the urge to scream.

Ibuki is undoubtedly the most upbeat and talkative student in her class, the resident mood maker, carrying her lively presence and cheerfulness wherever she goes, even amidst the tension of the killing game. She can talk nonstop about almost anything, whether it's recent events, her surroundings, or interests, and almost always goes off on bizarre, unrelated tangents. She often lightens serious situations by either offering to sing or using humor. She also has a habit of breaking the fourth wall.

Though she may appear insensitive at times, Ibuki is a very caring and perceptive friend, which is why despite her eccentricities, she has friendly relationships with all of her classmates.
