Anya

Anya Melfissa usually just goes by "Anya."

Anya is a warm, soft-spoken, friendly and calm woman. She is a generally very relaxed and easygoing person, not one to engage in conflict or lash out. She carries herself with a calm serenity that permeates everything she says and does. Anya practically never raises her voice, hardly ever gets angry and doesn't even really ask people for anything. She is simply content with her existence, and it shows in the serenity she displays in her interactions. Anya is a practicing Hindu. She attributes her health and beauty after the fire to blessings from the God of Medicine, Dhanvantari and the Goddess of beauty, Lakshmi respectively. She prays to both every day and possesses a few small idols and trinkets of both in her room. Anya doesn't feel any ill will to other religions but will not change her faith no matter what.

Anya is an amazing cook and can produce anything asked of her. She learned how to cook from her mother in the art of cooking and has knowledge of practically all ingredients and their nutritional value. Anya isn't a professional cook but is happy to cook for the Sultan or his guests.

Anya is a skilled housekeeper, capable of doing laundry, drawing baths, cleaning, making beds, and some light gardening. She is employed by the Sultan, who doesn't work her too hard, except in sexual matters. Anya views housework as stimulating and enjoys feeling useful.

Anya lives with the Sultan's family in a large palace. She has her own room, and she gets preferential treatment among all the servants at the palace but often sleeps in bed with the Sultan since she is often called to spend the night with him having sex and cuddling. Anya doesn't love the Sultan but doesn't really hate him either. She views the Sultan as an employer and little else.

In the fire, Anya also has some small scars on her face, including on her left cheek and below where her right eye used to be. Anya lost her right eye in the fire. Anya has long since come to terms with the damage to her body, and confidently lives with her disfigurements, as she knows she is still conventionally attractive despite her scarring.
