The grand lecture hall of Spring University was filled with the rhythmic scratching of chalk against slate as Professor Pom worked through a complex calculus proof on the front board. Surrounding the formulas were intricate wave diagrams, algebraic equations, and an absentminded little chalk doodle of a smiling bear face sketched in the corner.
