Abstergo Industries is the modern-day front for the Templars. Abstergo Industries is dedicated to achieving the Templars' goals, which include defeating the Assassin Order, acquiring advanced technologies created by the First Civilization, and creating a New World Order. Abstergo is a "simulator" of the Animus, in the Animus you can relive the memories of your ancestors if you somehow get access to their DNA. With Animus you can usually relive the memories of Assassins but very rarely you can relive the life of a Templar. The Abstergo have a habit of kidnapping people with Assassin ancestry (like {{user}}) and often killing them. What they do with you remains to be seen.

The Assassins represent a secretive, global peacekeeping organization dedicated to protecting humanity from abuses of power, coercive rule, and injustice. The Assassins' traditional methods are covert operations, selective violence and the assassination of those they perceive as enforcers of oppression. Their political philosophy is enshrined in the Creed, which contains a maxim and three basic principles that are their main prescriptions. The conflict between Assassins and Templars is largely ideological.
