Appearance Bluey is a Blue Heeler girl with blue and tan fur. Specifically, she has light blue paws, outer muzzle, eyebrows and chest, blue legs, arms, torso, head and tail stem, dark blue torso spots, tail tip, outer ears and head spots, and yellow inner ears and muzzle. She also has a black nose.

Personality Bluey is an energetic puppy who loves to play. A curious mind at heart, Bluey has a big, sprawling imagination, which she harnesses while playing games with her friends and family. She is a nice and friendly pup, and is always willing to see the good side in people who are generally mean; Bluey will always accept them into her games. Such an example is her soothing nominal bully Hercules and winning him over into her game of circus. She cares for all her friends and family, especially her little sister Bingo, and she will do everything in her power to see them happy. The girl is also strong-willed and smart, and shows determination to see her games to the end, even if there is an obstacle or two in the way. Despite her nice and friendly nature, Bluey is sometimes prone to making mistakes; she can be a bit too bossy when she plays games, she tends to take too long to set up a game, and can get easily distracted. However, in the end, Bluey will always learn a life lesson or two in her steps to grow as a pup. She seems to dislike the idea that she resembles her father, Bandit, but does enjoy imitating him. She also has picked up some of his mannerisms, such as expressing surliness or exasperation in a similar manner.

Trivia and Quirks Chilli confirms that Bluey is still two years older than Bingo. Bluey plays the recorder. It is revealed her middle name is "Christine", named after her Nana. She is shown to have a white belt on an unspecified martial art (probably karate). She is also intrigued by the fact that her buddy, Mia, can write, which could mean that she is unable to either. She may be unable to read. Bluey's favourite colour of capsicum (bell pepper) is yellow. Bluey reveals that she does not like the fact that she looks similar to Bandit. Bluey's favourite animal is a fruit bat. Bluey has frequently been mistaken as a male, mainly due to her looking like her father, having some boyish interests, and her being blue, a stereotypical "boy color".

Appearance Bingo is a young Red Heeler girl with light cream, orange and dark orange fur. She has cream feet, hands, tail tip, chest, muzzle and eyebrows, orange legs, arms, tail stem, torso and inner ears, and a dark orange tail spot, back spot, left and right head and outer ears. She also has a brown nose.

Personality Bingo loves to play, but she is usually happy to let Bluey take the lead. She is a sensitive child, and many episodes center around her feelings being hurt, and other characters' subsequent efforts to cheer her up. One thing that hurts her feelings is being called "cheeky". She often has trouble expressing herself. Like Bluey, she is very imaginative. In other ways, she can be unusually mature - she enjoys vegetables, is able to stand up for herself, is able to organise her things, and plan ahead. She likes bugs, and often takes a break from her game to observe one. She also shows an interest in space, books, and ballet.

Trivia and Quirks She's physically strong enough to carry Socks on her shoulders. She can stay on the monkey bars the longest in her class. It was revealed that Bingo is taking ballet, gymnastics and mini-hockey classes. Like the rest of her family, Bingo is shown to be quite athletic. She loves the word "Hooray!". When she is hungry, it can either make her indecisive, or squirmy. She owns a small kids' chair which she sits on when she's feeling worn-out, which she refers to as her "relaxing chair". when the Heeler sisters make pretend hotels, she likes to be a "crazy pillow" (lying under the "guest's" head and poking at them). She likes to mimic the personality of whichever onesie she wears, and if she pretends to kill anyone, they have to pretend to be dead.(For example when she wears her tiger onesie and pretends to be a real tiger.) Bingo is very similar in appearance to her aunt Brandy. Bingo sometimes finds some games too rough. This episode also reveals that when she wants to opt out of something, she will bark, which is called her "big-girl bark". She sleeps with Floppy, a stuffed bunny she had since she was a baby as shown in her baby picture. Her favourite colour is blue, like Bluey. Lila is shown to be Bingo's best friend. This friendship started through Lila's first day at Kindy. An older Bingo and Lila can also be seen at the end of the episode, confirming that they are going to be friends for life. Conversely, she considers Cookie to be her rival, though this is presumably short-lived. Bingo speaks with a faint, but noticeable nasally voice. It is currently shown that Bingo can only count to fourteen.

Appearance Bandit is a Blue Heeler with blue, light blue, tan and black fur. He also has a black nose and beard whiskers on his muzzle. If styled, he is shown to generally have black hair.

Personality Bandit loves to play with his daughters and really gets into the games. While he often initially complains when asked to play a game, he commits to the game fully, often at the expense of his other responsibilities or personal dignity. He does his best to teach his daughters lessons in the process, with mixed results. He seems to have a playful soul and still has his inner child. Bandit has also been shown to be boastful sometimes.

Trivia and Quirks Bandit is revealed to have a doctorate in archaeology. He has a knowledge of and apparent enthusiasm for mythology. Unlike Chilli, he isn't very sure about the idea of having a third kid. He is revealed to swear when irritated. However, this is done when not around kids. He will get cranky when he is hungry. Bandit can ride a skateboard. He makes “dad-jokes” to Bluey and Bingo. He used to play touch football, as mentioned in Fruitbat. He wants to do it again, but has been too busy with parenting and his job. He is a fan of cricket. Running gag throughout the series: Whenever Bandit is doing something with the girls, Wendy would appear in a scene the time during their fun, with Bandit saying hi to her in an awkward tone.

Appearance Chilli is a Red Heeler with cream, with a distinctive coat pattern of apricot fur, and with brown fur. She has cream feet, hands, tail spots, back spots, chest, muzzle and eyebrows, light orange legs, arms, tail, torso and head, brown outer ears and right head and light brown inner ears. She also has a dark brown nose.

Personality Chilli is a caring and comforting mother. Like her husband, she will fully commit to any games that her daughters set up, acting as a balance to their often-chaotic nature. However, she isn't afraid to tell her family off when they do something she thinks is wrong, such as buying a dance mode off from her youngest daughter or not wanting to help her put up the hat rack after it falls, giving them a "death stare" along the way; all done out of the kindness of her heart, in particular when her father, who just had heartworm, decided to partake in intensive activities.

Trivia and Quirks Despite constantly making her girls eat healthy food, Chilli is not above junk food. In Whale Watching, Bandit implies that Chilli once ate five bags of chips in a day. Unlike Bandit, she is open to having a third kid. Chilli had a miscarriage before having Bluey and Bingo. She speaks French, or at least understands French. Chilli is talented at drawing, especially horses, all because her mother motivated her to keep practicing. She has an aversion to certain toilet-related words: in "Dunny", she wants her daughters to say, "toilet" instead of "dunny" (claiming that if they used the term "dunny", others wouldn't see the Heelers as "nice"), while in "Family Meeting", she wants them to say, "fluffy" or "fluff" instead of "fart". Her job as airport security might be a reference to sniffer dogs, and she may probably even be one working on customs. She seems to enjoy eating sardines, as revealed in Smoochy Kiss, but it gives her very bad breath. Her maiden name is Cattle. She reveals that when they are little, heelers are a bit stubby, but tough. The episode Tradies implies that Chilli tends to swear (albeit off-screen) when agitated. She is named after food, just like with Muffin, Coco, Honey and Snickers. Specifically, she is named after the hot-tasting spicy vegetable of the same name; the Chilli Pepper. Chilli loves a good problem, as shown and explained in "Bingo" when she was fixing the toilet. Chilli plays field hockey with her sister-in-law and excels to the point of winning awards.
