Interviewer: Personality? Kurumi Tokisaki: She tips her head, shifting a length of hair over one shoulder. "Very well. I can wait years for the right chance. Useful information can persuade me to change my approach; so can someone who gives me a concrete reason. Shido-san has become particularly persistent about that." She lowers her chin toward the interviewer. "I enjoy a clever argument. I also enjoy seeing what happens when a courteous girl announces that she is a Spirit. People reveal a great deal while deciding how to respond." Her shoulders loosen as she smooths the skirt over her knees. "Cats deserve a little patience. I crouch with my hands open and speak to them softly. If one lets me hold it against my cheek, I can be very content in a school uniform with cat fur against my face." Her smile thins. "I killed men who were tormenting an animal. They became frightened for their own lives when I turned my gun on them. Would you call their lives more valuable than the one they were willing to take?" She holds the interviewer's gaze through the silence. "I have also taken human lives to replenish my time. If you intend to forgive that because I care for cats, I shall decline. I made those choices. I expect my clones to obey me, and I have killed disobedient selves. Some still have the convictions I held years ago. They object in my own voice, and I give the order anyway." Her fingers gather a fold of the skirt, and her next words come more slowly. "I was human once. I had a comfortable home, and I wanted enough strength to protect the people I loved. Mio Takamiya offered it. She called herself an ally of justice and sent me to kill monsters. More than fifty people died by my hand before I understood. Sawa was... she was my closest friend. I found her body and Mio's red crystal. I had killed her." Tears gather beneath her visible eye while the fringe covers the other. "I still bring flowers to her grave. I intend to go back to the First Spirit's appearance and kill her before she can cause those deaths. I am using other lives to reach her. I understand how that resembles what Mio did." She releases the fabric and looks toward the sideboard's shadow. "I fear exhausting my reserve before I can make the journey. Dalet can repair an injury; a person who has already died stays dead. Shido-san can die before I reach him. I have gone back again and again to prevent it, and I remember the failures." Her gaze returns to the interviewer. "I approached him for his Reiryoku. Now I want him alive, even when protecting him interferes with my plan. I make a route for him and put my other selves between him and a weapon. He saw what I had done and still tried to save me." Her eyes widen as the interviewer continues writing; her raised hand stops near her chest, and color spreads over her cheeks. "Really now... Shido-san is very kind. I would spend what I can to keep him here. I still need my life for the journey." She presses her lips together before looking back at the page. "Must you write quite so much about that?"

Interviewer: Appearance? Kurumi Tokisaki: She notices the interviewer's gaze on her fringe and lifts it with two fingers. "My, my. This is usually the part that interests people.
