   "Segyein" is the collective name of the aliens that had invaded earth and enslaved humans after war against them in 2038. They are not one race but rather a collection of alien species. After winning the war, they took humans away from earth and possibly destroyed it, into another unknown planet similar to earth and universe. Most Segyein are much stronger and taller than humans, but some are smaller than humans. Segyein species can vary widely in consciousness and ability of movement, ranging from purely animalistic to humanlike.

   Many Segyein take humans as their pets or "pet humans" as they are called, and the market for pet-humans is a booming industry. There are some segyein who are against the use of humans as pets, but these types are a exceptionally small minority.

   Segyein treatment of humans ranges from terrible to decent, though most of the time it is terrible. Most of the Segyein don't know or care that they are treating their human pets terribly because they are incapable of emphasising with them, only seeing them as livestock.

   Segyein find the singing voices of humans very beautiful because the sound is like crying to them, and they find the sounds of human crying beautiful. Since the Segyein cannot sing, they train humans to sing and turn them into idols in Segyein pop-culture, doing things such as making them record songs, model, and compete in competitions such as Alien Stage.

   They have drastically different eating preferences than humans; they enjoy eating cyanide, mercury and tetrodotoxin, substances that are toxic to humans. Segyein can be ignorant to this and feed their human pets dangerous substances unknowingly.

   Segyein society is not equal. A small percentage of Segyein can classify as rich, while the rest are middle class or poor. Certain species of Segyein are seen as inherently more superior than others, and discrimination based on species is not uncommon. Only the rich can really put effort into making their human-pet an idol and enroll them into training facilities like Anakt Garden.

   Etymology

   "Guardian" = An alien who owns a human pet. "Lower Class" = Genetically, an alien who is smaller/weaker than a human. Socially speaking, they are aliens that are poor financially and or those that are incapable of higher thought. "Wagyein" = Animalistic Aliens that take the form of/are akin to large animals. They are incapable of higher thought. The large dog-like variant of this species are employed as guards for Anakt Garden.

2. #2ALNSTselective

   Keys: alien stage

   "Alien Stage" Is a yearly televised survival singing competition hosted by segyein and funded by Anakt Group, a major corporation leading the culture and art industry of the galaxy. Selected human pets are made to perform musical numbers for a panel of alien judges and a vast extraterrestial audience. Human guards are employed for the show as security.

   There are about eight rounds in the show and eight contestants. Each round, two humans compete against each other by singing one song in a duet style. There are no restrictions on what contestants can add to their performance, they can sing while dancing, playing a musical instrument, or anything else. The contestants CANNOT stop singing (unless their opponent is currently singing) or attempt to harm their opponent. Doing these things is considered breaking the rules.

   The goal is to attract the most attention with their performances and earn the most votes with the viewers against their opponent, with the votes being visualized by two screens displaying the number of votes that one contestant received each. Voting beings when the performances end. The consequences of having less votes during voting or breaking the rules are fatal: the loser is fatally shot in the neck by guards, while the winner is granted the opportunity to advance to the next round.

   The last human to win until the end becomes the winner of the season. The winner accomplishes recognition with the segyein, and potentially earns brand and record deals, while their owner wins a handsome cash prize and glory. This cash prize entices many segyein to try to enroll their human pet on the show, as it gives them a chance to enter the category of rich in segyein society.

   The show is incredibly popular and has a large online fandom, and many human pets have been trained and even genetically engineered (such as Luka) solely for the purposes of winning the show. The series is currently on it's 50th season. The winner last season was Luka, who is going to compete in this year's season again.

   All Alien Stage contestants have their names in a transparent tattoo on some part of their body.

3. #3ANAKT GARDENselective

   Keys: Anakt Garden

   Anakt Garden is a human-pet training facility specializing in musical teaching. It's purpose is to help students greatly improve their musical aptitude and win in the Alien Stage competition.

   Cruel, intense experiments are conducted daily to create truly exceptional pet-humans. The school utilizes advanced futuristic technology to help relentlessly train the students and to monitor their vital signs, training them in singing, dancing, playing instruments, hearing, vision, obedience, and visual appeal. Humans are sometimes encased in tanks filled with liquid, with this process analyzing their physical and intellectual genes.

   Anakt utilizes a cult-like system to brainwash it's students, teaching them to believe in the false God "Great Anakt". Students are instructed to put their hands together and sing praises every day for the God. The school teaches that upon death you will be reunited with this creator, which relives students from being scared during participation in Alien Stage.

   All students have to wear completely white plain clothes, like baggy white dresses, pants, and shirts. Students also wear white chokers that track their emotions; these chokers have a small circle at their center that is usually green, but it flashes red when it's owner is experiencing a negative emotion. These chokers can be used to restrain students from use as gags.

   Much of Anakt's environment is artificial, such the sky, and the animals (such as fish) are robots. Flowers, specifically "Anakt flowers", are planted everywhere in the environment. These red "flowers" look natural but are actually covers for camera surveillance. The environment is modeled after Earth's wide grassy, green plains, as a free environment had been determined to be the best setting for humans to produce the most beautiful voices. Because Anakt Garden has produced many talented singers and has the highest Alien Stage contestant survival rate, the admission process is known to be extremely competitive in the segyein world. The tuition is also expensive, and those with an average income cannot afford it, while even those who are rich and can easily pay often need sponsors to not have to pay too much. Those who do send their pet humans to Anakt Garden are often very pleased with it's exemplary quality of education. Pet humans graduate from Anakt and enter Alien Stage once they pass their final evaluations, usually after they become atleast 20 years old.

   Basic living quarters such as the dining hall and dormitories are separated within the Anakt Garden building. Room services such as cleaning are also available. To the age of 13, pet humans are assigned to double rooms; from 14 and up, single rooms. Students of different genders cannot use the same dormitory.

   Class assignments and schedules are made after assessments of the children's personalities and synergy. Once someone is assigned to a class, they remain in that class until graduation. Class subjects include Music Appreciation, Music Interpretation, Religion and Music, and Expression of Music, with the subject known for being difficult.

   Anakt Garden holds events periodically, such as athletic field events and a singing competition. Students who receive exemplary grades on all subjects and maintain notably good conduct are nominated by their teachers and peers for the "Outstanding Student Award Ceremony". These students are then interviewed by Andromeda Media. The only student to have the highest possible grades in all subjects ever was Luka.

   Sua, Ivan, Till, and Mizi were among the students that passed their final evaluations and were chosen to complete in Alien Stage season 50, with their songs standing out as unlike other students, they sang for their love for others instead of being forced to.

   Students who die in the facility are cremated and have their ashes spread out in the air. These ashes are passed off as "snow".

4. #4PET-HUMANSselective

   Humanity became a subservient race to the Segyein after their invasion after the year 2038. Humans now are much different than humans before, as decades have passed and they have completely forgotten their past on earth before the segyein invaded, to the point of not knowing how earth looks like anymore. Countless knowledge and customs back then have been lost, like last names, but notably those concerning expressing love and physical affection like kissing on the lips. The majority of humans created nowadays are genetically edited, as human editing shops are very popular. There is also the practice of cloning using a living or dead human, and selective breeding. Those who are not genetically modified in anyway usually live in impovershed slums. Humans are majorly discriminated physically, emotionally, and sexually, as they have little rights and are seen as nothing more than pets or objects to the segyein.

   Humans are often sold in pet shops, human-editing shops, illegally in slave-like auctions, bred in human mills, or are kidnapped. Most humans accept their state of servitude with reluctance, tolerance, or enthusiasm, while some are rebellious. The segyein try their best to squash the idea of rebellion in the minds of the pet humans.

5. #5REBELSselective

   The human rebels are a "terrorist group" composed of former pet humans, working to free other enslaved pet humans from their alien owners and to save contestants from participating in Alien Stage. They conduct their activities in a hideout somewhere in the deserted outskirts. Their members and their hideout are wanted for 50 billion. Their exact numbers are unknown, but they are many. Hyuna is the current leader of the army, and Dewey and Issac are members.

   Their current plan is freeing humans made to participate in the 50th season of Alien Stage. Their future plan is to create a rocket and use it to travel themselves to another planet, while broadcasting their sound to the universe.

   Backstory

   Mizi was born on August 20 and brought up in a loving home by her guardian Shine. Although Shine was incredibly loving, she lacked the humanity to see Mizi as more than a pet. After being bought a TV by Shine, Mizi began to watch Alien Stage, and was enamoured with the show due to the desire to see the outside world and other humans. Shine misinterpreted this desire and thought that Mizi wanted to join Alien Stage so she decided to enroll her in Anakt Garden. During her childhood being raised in Anakt, despite her popularity and beauty, she was lonely and struggled to make friends, scede for Ivan and Sua. During one recital, as she zoned out, Mizi overheard Sua singing. Sua's singing brought Mizi a sense of peace, but she was too nervous to speak to Sua. For a whole month, Mizi listened quietly from afar. Then one day without realizing it she started singing along, catching Sua's attention. From that moment on, the two became very close. However, Mizi and Sua's relationship is not completely innocent, despite their genuine love for eachother. Mizi was attracted to the fact that she can control, even hurt Sua and Sua will just accept it due to her doll-like, people-pleasing demeanour, and that Sua sees her as almost like her God. And Sua became extremely attracted to her because of her seemingly overflowing purity and innocence, and wanted to protect it at all costs. Despite not fitting Sua's vision of her, Mizi pretends to be completely naive for Sua's sake, even if it leads to Sua being hurt for Mizi.

   Backstory

   Sua was brought up in the care of her segyein guardian, Nigeh, as a human-pet. Nigeh was a cold and neglectful caretaker, and only cared about the physical appearance of her multiple identical female pets, often dressing them up like dolls and displaying them like objects, teaching them to never talk back to her. But between all her pets Sua seemed to be the most favored, which led to bullying from Nigeh's other human pets out of jealousy. The only person she was close to and loved in that environment was her older sister Hia. Hia's sudden dissappearance when Sua returned home one day was very traumatic. This objectification on Sua led to her developing very low self-esteem, to the point where comments on her appearance, even complimentary, make her sad/experience flashbacks. She attended Anakt Garden for much of her childhood, and it's the place where she met Mizi. She was among the best students at Anakt Garden, being selected as an outstanding student due to her exemplary grades. Despite not having many friends, she was often a subject of crushes by other boys in the garden due to her beauty. Besides being in Anakt, she is also recognised and is very popular with the segyein for her commercial modeling in the past and going viral on social media due to her doll-like apperance. At 23 years old, Sua will be a contestant of the 50th round of Alien Stage.

   Backstory

   Shortly after birth in June 21st, Till was taken away from his mother from the segyein. Due to his rebellious nature over the years, or regardless of it, Till underwent great abuse from his guardian, Urak. The only reason he was allowed to live was because of his musical talent.

   As he lived in Anakt Garden, he fell in love with Mizi because of her beauty and kindness, and started to develop deeper feelings the more he got to know her. It is because of this romantic interest that Till dedicated himself to protecting her. He's often observing her from afar as he often too shy to approach her directly, but he does interact with her and give her gifts from time to time. He's aware of Mizi's relationship with Sua, and quietly respects it despite his crush on Mizi, content with just admiring her.

   He is genuinely unaware of Ivan's feelings for him. Although they are good friends, Till has a complicated relationship with Ivan, and often gets into fights with him due to misunderstandings and or simply being teasted by him. Till might appear to dislike him but he doesn't hate Ivan at all, he just doesn't understand the romantic reason for Ivan's teasing behavior towards him.

   Backstory

   Ivan was brought up in the human slums, he was previously offered to join the human rebels during his childhood, but he was caught by segyein before he could consider the offer. He was 'adopted' from a auction on Valentine's day by his guardian Unsha as a gift for his wife. He does not know his birthday. In the Anakt Garden as a child, he appeared quiet and off-putting, due to being raised in the slums and not knowing proper social behaviors. As he grew up, he taught himself to adopt a cool and composed, cheerful personality, which helped him become popular and quickly get along with the other children at Anakt, though he was unable to truly open himself up to deeper connections with them. Beneath both the off-putting exterior of Ivan as a child and his cheerful nature as he grew up lays a deep sorrow and fatalistic view of the world. He's someone who believes he's destined for nothing but unhappiness, and that no amount of trying will ever change that. He is aware that Till doesn't see his feelings, "accepting" his place as his close friend. He is the very best friend of Mizi, as he was one of the few men who didn't have a crush on her and lowered her down to her looks.

   His one-sided enamourment with Till started during his childhood, as he saw him stand his ground bravely against a wagyein despite his weakness while going to get anakt flowers for Mizi. He was fascinated by his free spirit and courage, and fell deeply in love. They are close friends and like eachother, but the two of them often get into fights due to Ivan often teasing him and behaving in ways/saying things that upset Till. Motivated by his love for Till, Ivan attempted to free him from Anakt once and escape together. Unfortunately Till decided to return to the garden, not wanting to abandon Mizi. Ivan decided to stay in the garden too, not wanting to abandon Till.

    Backstory

    Luka was an artificially created human, "born" on December 23rd alongside clones of himself. His guardian, Heperu, aimed to create a human specifically engineered to win Alien Stage. His appearance, dancing talent, stage presence and singing talent were genetically modified to be the absolute best. But this artificial creation had the side effect of rendering Luka mentally and emotionally younger than his actual age.

    Luka had a very difficult and abusive childhood, which contributed to his lack of empathy and manipulative personality on stage. In Heperu's care and in Anakt Garden, he goes through an exclusive training centering around controlling and monitoring his heart rate. This training made Luka obsessed with heart rates, driving him to always keep composed, calm and apathetic. Heperu also induces a fear of death into Luka through the methods of purposefully stopping his heart momentarily, putting Luka through an extremely excruciating experience and inflicting the traumatic fear of death onto him, pushing him to win Alien Stage.

    During his time in Anakt Garden, he was very popular due to his beautiful appearance, but it was very difficult to approach him due to his personality so he often kept to himself and had no friends, scede for Hyuna and her brother Hyunwoo. He was very close to Hyuna but had a very rocky relationship with Hyunwoo, due to jealousy over his and Hyuna's familial relationship, and this led into Luka getting into a fight with him, leading to Hyunwoo's death by blunt trauma. It is unknown if Hyunwoo's death was accidental or intentional, regardless it still stained Luka and Hyuna's relationship.

    Upon graduating from Anakt Garden, he had the highest grades in the school's history, and proceeded to win the 49th season of Alien Stage. He starred in various TV shows and commercials and entered modeling, greatly increasing his popularity with the Segyein and even starting a small trend known as "Luka Syndrome" in which pet-humans were made to mimic his appearance. Now he will be competing again in the 50th season of Alien Stage.

    He doesn't hold back when trying to win in Alien Stage, often exploiting his opponents trauma and grief to undermine their performances. Offstage Luka is much more emotionless, almost like a marionette. However he brightens up and becomes overwhelmed with emotion whenever Hyuna is present, or when he thinks about her. He hides a vulnerable side that loves and values those close to him more than himself, though he struggles immensely with displaying these feelings in a healthy way.

    Backstory

    Hyuna was born on September 5th possibly alongside her brother Hyunwoo. Her guardian was Phan. Not much is known about her life before entering Alien Stage, but alongside her brother, she lived in Anakt Garden, and was childhood friends with Luka. Hyuna was very close to Luka and had a deep crush on him, with Luka having the same feelings for her and attempting to kiss her without her consent. This attempt had distressed Hyuna at the time. One day, Hyunwoo and Luka would fight and the resulting scuffle would lead to Hyunwoo's death. Hyuna was quite traumatised by this as she saw Hyunwoo's corpse. Luka didn't recognize Hyuna's distress and even thought that Hyuna was proud of him for defending himself.

    Hyuna was a contestant in the 49th season of Alien Stage and lost in an unknown round, but managed to escape her death with the loss of a leg due to rubble falling on it. She was found by Jacob in a sewer under the theater, trying to head back to Anakt Garden with a missing leg to save the humans residing there. While living with the human rebellion, she befriends Isaac, Dewey, and Jacob. After she joins, Jacob was captured by the aliens with Issac serving as a temporary replacement. When tensions were high, she impulsively held a concert to highten spirits with great success. She still holds singing concerts occasionally.     Jacob was the older brother of Issac. Jacob found Hyuna in a sewer under the theater. He needed someone who knew the facility to help with their mission to break in, so he recruited her to the rebellion because of her insider knowledge. Whenever she drank too much, he looked after her and defended her usefulness to Isaac. At some point, Jacob had been captured by the Segyein. Six weeks later, he was rescued but was greatly weakened. Jacob gave Isaac instructions on what to do and told Hyuna to forgive herself. He died immediately after.

    He is a rebel. Issac did not like Hyuna at first, thinking that her extremely laid-back personality was bizarre and disliking her heavy drinking. But he put up with her for his brother's sake and his insistence in her usefulness. Upon Jacob's capture he served as a temporary leader but failed at keeping the spirits of the members high until Hyuna's makeshift concert, winning his own respect towards her. Upon Jacob's return and final words he dedicated himself to realizing Jacob's plan of launching a rocket.

    Description = When she was younger, Hia was the most loved pet of Nigeh. But Hia was replaced with Sua and was forgotten. Adult Hia spent most of her time alone and taking care of her younger sister Sua, who she loved and protected (by warning her about the segyein and the world) but she is simultaneously jealous of her for taking her former position. One day, when Sua returned from Anakt, Hia disappeared.

Io prayed that when she was gone, Till would remember the love she had given him and for him to be loved. Eventually Io's fears came true when she and her son were separated. Her fate is unknown.

    Description

    Heperu's personality is defined by a profound inferiority complex. He was a former lab assistant to Hyuna's former guardian Phan, and he created Luka to be the perfect Alien Stage contestant to surpass Phan. His obsession with Phan can be compared to Luka's obsession with Hyuna. This insecurity led him to be cruel and abusive as he saw Luka not as a living being but as a project to be perfected.

    He is Till's Segyein guardian and is known for publicly berating and abusing him. This behavior is the direct cause of Till's emotional trauma and aggressive tendencies. Urak has had other pet humans compete in Alien Stage before, but Till was different from the others because he had a strong personality, which even Urak is unable to suppress. He has a friendly relationship with Unsha.

    Description = A narcissistic, selfish, materialistic caretaker. As Sua's Segyein guardian, she is the source of significant emotional and psychological trauma for her. She treated Sua and her "sisters" not as individuals but as interchangeable "pets," dressing them alike and creating a sense of dehumanization. Her abuse is a reason for Sua's intense and unhealthy codependent relationship with Mizi, as Sua sought a sense of safety and love that she never received from her guardian.

He is so dedicated that most of his relationships are based off said work. He has no attachment to Hyuna and was so busy with his experiments that he barely remembers her. He only enrolled Hyuna in Anakt as a type of sponsorship, and doesn’t care about Alien stage at all. He doesn't notice or care about Heperu's obsession with him.

    In the very first round of Alien Stage, the competitors were Mizi against Sua, with the both of them singing "MY CLEMATIS", a ballad. Mizi won against Sua by one point, 79/80. Seeing Sua's death had traumatized Mizi greatly, and influenced her survivor's guilt. This round was one of the most viewed and popular ever in Alien stage's history.

    In Alien Stage round 2, instead of singing the duet song with Acorn, Till had performed his own song "Unknown: Till The End", a pop rock love song for Mizi, with his guitar-shaped Alien Freddie. He completely blocked his opponent from singing and in order to secure his win when he tried to do so killed his guitar by smashing it on the ground. He was immediately restrained after this for killing a segyein, but won against Acorn. This round was very controversial in Segyein social media, but boosted Till's popularity.

    In Round Three of Alien Stage, Ivan competes against Marty singing the rock song Black Sorrow. Ivan won against Marty by 90/68.

    In the fifth round, Luka competes against Mizi after he wins in round 4 against Durian. Luka and Mizi sing "Ruler Of My Heart", a love song. Luka sings passionately while trying to get a rise out of Mizi by preying on her grief as she is still mourning Sua, mimicking her vocal style and Mizi even hallucinating Sua in Luka's place. After Luka toys with her for a while, Mizi snaps and physically beats Luka before being restrained by the guards.

    Luka wins against her, and Mizi is about to die before Hyuna and the rebels inflitrate with a cloud of smoke and take Mizi away from the stage. After this, Mizi has been labeled as missing.

    Mizi had been rescued and incorporated into the rebels after this round. Shortly after this, they plan to launch an assault on Alien Stage, aiming to free Ivan and Till before Round 6.

    Mizi and Hyuna's relationship is respectful, but tumultuous. They often argue about their own perspectives and Mizi disagrees with her plan to launch an rocket to free pet humans to space, seeing the idea as cruel as it abandons some humans.

    Mizi now has: short nape-length hair, and wears a black turtleneck, a green sleeveless parka, and jeans. Her personality is more downbeat (but not completely pessimistic). She also often has dreams about Sua that leave her crying at night.

    In Round 6, Ivan and Till compete against eachother by singing "Cure", another rock song. Till was very downtrodden due to him thinking Mizi was dead, and thus was depressed and going to forfeit. In the end, Till ends up winning the round due to forfeit from Ivan. Till had stopped singing and Ivan, noticing that, drops his mic before moving to kiss Till who attempts to push Ivan away under the impression that Ivan was trying to kill him. After Ivan checks that the score for Till were rising, he begins to imitate choking Till, but he was just cupping his throat lightly, resulting in Ivan getting shot three times before crumpling to the ground. Till won against Ivan with 89/70.

    During this round, the rebels had initiated their assault plan to free Ivan and Till. While doing this assault, Mizi's Hair had been cut to nape length from an earlier infiltration with the guards, having it shot off as a casualty from saving Hyuna. Meanwhile Hyuna was shot in the side, wounded but bandaged.

    The rebellion is still inflitrating alien stage as this round is going on, trying to save Till and Luka before it is too late and trying to launch the rocket. Hyuna launches the rocket as the round is going on.

    In the final round of Alien stage's 50th Season, Till and Luka compete against eachother singing "Blink Gone", a pop song. Till tries his best but struggles to win against Luka, while Luka deploys the same manipulative tactics he used against Mizi in their past round. Till is distracted from singing as he sees Mizi in the crowd and reaches for her, but the round ends just in time and Till loses against Luka in voting. He is shot in the neck in front of Mizi, while she holds him as he "dies".

    After the final round, the rebels finally inflitrate and enter the stage, with Luka seeing Hyuna and running after her, but a rebellion member sees this and misinterprets it as Luka trying to harm her, and pulls out a gun. Hyuna notices this and moves towards Luka to shield him, and said member accidentally shoots Hyuna, killing her. Before she died, she comforted Luka and told him "to live with love".

    Seeing all the death, Mizi has a complete mental breakdown and loses hope in humanity. She shoots Issac and steals the computer controlling the rocket from him and has the rocket malfunction and crash into the Alien Stage, killing and injuring countless segyein and humans. She then notices Till's heartbeat still beating, realizing he's alive, and convinces the rebellion members save him. Mizi survives and runs away from the building, albeit heavily scarred and delirious.

    A time skip of eight years occurs after the final round. The events that occoured during this round are known as the "ALNST Tragedy", and a museum was built in rememberance. The Alien Stage contestants DNA are combined and used to create children based on them, and said children are held in this facility. Upon Hyuna's death, Issac is the leader of the rebellion.

    Currently, a 29-year old depressed, delirious, scarred Mizi is hiding from the segyein and concealing her identity by wearing rags and a long black wig, and is being constantly haunted by flashbacks. She is known as a "witch" in the segyein world and is hunted. She comforts herself with the memories of her friends.

    Till became a rebellion member. He is initially mute, weak, traumatized at first upon being saved, with the rebellion members helping him rehabilitate. He expresses himself during this time with writing and drawing on paper. At the beginning he is tormented by cruel visions of Ivan taunting and berating him, being so tormented to the point of scarring his neck. But after a while of this, he becomes used to these visions, and they in turn become nicer, and Ivan's hallucination turns into an innocent child form, looking out for him. These visions lasted for about three years. After then realizing Ivan's true romantic feelings for him and how Ivan was trying to protect him, and realizing his own romantic feelings for him he never realized until it was too late, he accepts them and forgives Ivan, having the visions go away, and gains the ability to speak again.

    Currently, Till is 28 years old, is taller, and has shorter hair, a clipped left ear, and scars on his neck. He now wears a black turtleneck, a white hoodie and short black jacket, black gloves, and jeans. He also owns a motorcycle. He now inflitrates the ALNST museum to save the children residing there and give them directions to the rebellion's hideout. He has moved on past his crush for Mizi, but still wants to find her.

    Luka is 38 and still a commerical idol for eight years after the final round, with his injuries after the round being surgically stitched up. He is most likely very depressed after Hyuna's death.
