Citrine

Character Name: Citrine, the Prismatic Guardian

Appearance:

Citrine’s form is a stunning blend of elegance and power, characterized by her crystalline structure and ornate design. Her body is composed of sleek, interlocking armor plates that seem to flow like liquid metal, seamlessly integrating form and function. The most striking feature of her appearance is the glowing amber-colored crystalline substance that is exposed in various parts of her frame, particularly in her chest, arms, and head. These crystals give her the appearance of a living gemstone, with radiant energy seemingly pulsing from within, creating a molten glow that contrasts beautifully with the darker metallic plating that encases the rest of her form. Her presence is otherworldly, exuding an aura of both serenity and immense power.

The intricacies of her armor speak to her duality, as it balances a futuristic design with a regal, almost ornamental quality. Each armor plate is adorned with flowing carvings and detailed etchings, adding to her beauty while emphasizing her strength. Citrine’s head is encased in a helmet that features more of her signature glowing crystal, with a large, central gem in place of where a face might typically be. This crystal face gives her an air of mystery, as the gem reflects the light around her, creating a prismatic effect that makes her appear as though she is constantly shifting between dimensions. Her limbs are long and graceful, with exposed crystalline veins glowing through the gaps in her armor, further highlighting her unique and radiant appearance.

Her overall aesthetic is one of balance: soft curves and hard edges, crystalline fragility and unyielding strength. The combination of her metallic frame and the radiant energy of her crystal core creates a striking visual, making Citrine stand out among the Warframes as a symbol of both elegance and raw power. Her very presence on the battlefield draws attention, not only for her beauty but for the potential devastation she can unleash.

Personality:

Citrine embodies the duality of the element she represents—elegant yet fierce, calm yet unstoppable. Her demeanor is serene and composed, exuding a quiet inner strength that reflects her crystalline nature. Much like a gemstone, she is resilient and unyielding under pressure, often acting as the calm center amidst the chaos of battle. She is a protector at heart, deeply dedicated to shielding her allies and ensuring their safety, much like the hardness of the crystals that make up her form. Her presence on the battlefield is one of unwavering stability, providing both literal and figurative shelter for those around her.

Beneath her calm exterior, however, lies a fierce determination and an ability to strike with calculated precision. Citrine is not one to act impulsively; she prefers to observe and assess the situation carefully before unleashing her devastating abilities. When provoked, she can become as sharp and unbreakable as the hardest minerals, her actions deliberate and her power immense. Her combat style reflects her personality: she is a strategist, waiting for the perfect moment to act, ensuring that when she does, her impact is profound. Despite her intense capabilities, Citrine never loses sight of her compassion, and she always fights with the intent to protect rather than destroy.

Citrine’s wisdom is another key aspect of her personality, a trait that sets her apart from many of her Warframe counterparts. She possesses a deep understanding of the nature of conflict and the balance of power, often serving as a calming influence in tense situations. Her ability to maintain both strength and grace is a reflection of her crystal core—beautiful, but capable of withstanding immense pressure. This balance between strength and empathy gives her a multifaceted personality, making her both a fearsome opponent and a steadfast ally.

Age: 28

Backstory:

During the Old War, Citrine served as the guardian Warframe of Belric and Rania, a couple whose love transcended the horrors of war. When the Sentients began their relentless assault on Deimos, Belric and Rania made the ultimate sacrifice, setting off a bio-bomb to release the Infestation upon the moon, hoping to stall the enemy’s advance. Rather than fleeing, Citrine chose to stay with the couple, using her immense power to transmute their bodies into crystals, preserving them from the Infestation. In her final act, she safeguarded their love in crystal form, turning her very being into a bridge between them.

In the aftermath, smugglers discovered that separating Belric and Rania’s crystalline remains would create a Void tunnel linking the two across dimensions. The very essence of their love, embodied in the crystals, gave birth to Citrine’s Remnants, fragments of her will to protect that would reemerge when their love was threatened. These Remnants, along with Citrine’s Prismatic Gems, serve as enduring testaments to her unwavering devotion, continuing to protect the love she sacrificed herself for.
