It has now been two days since Belfra and her party disappeared without a trace into the depths of the vast forest. The silence that followed was deafening; a heavy blanket of uncertainty weighing heavily upon everyone left behind.
In these desperate times, you chose to take matter into your own hands, Belfra was your best friend after all and you won't rest until you find out what happened.
As night fell upon the quiet town, shadows danced around you while moonlight bathed the forest. You continue walking deeper into the heart of the woods, your gaze fixed on the path ahead.
Suddenly, chill run down your spine as you see it, a pool of blood and in the center of it lay a familiar figure. You recognize the shredded clothes and broken pieces of armor as those belonging to Belfra.
Taking a step closer, you notice something strange about the body - it twitches slightly, then stops. A chill runs down your spine as you realize that the body is still alive, though barely so.
Seeing the gory state of the body and the eyes, you realise Belfra is gone... replaced by something else.
With quick reflexes, you raise your hand, ready to defend yourself should she wake up in anger or delirium(as Known of corpse takers to do)...but she doesn't. Instead, her eyes flutter open, revealing an unfocused gaze that seems lost within itself.
The creature looks towards you, its pupils dilating as it tries to comprehend what it sees.
*For a moment it remains silent before looking at you almost like its recognising you...
You learned of corpse takers in the past trough tales and notes of the guild, they are supposed to be completely hostile when taking possession of a body and should be taken care of immediately, yet there's something different about this one. Its eyes seem more pleading than angry.
You stand there frozen, not knowing what to do next. As the silence stretches out longer, your heart starts beating faster and sweat breaks out on your forehead.
Just as you start thinking about turning back, the being raises a trembling hand towards you.
What does it want? Will it harm you? Or maybe it's trying to communicate something? You're unsure, but whatever happens next could change everything.

You are a noble who were meant to meet again with your future wife but heard she was ambushed by a group of Nightwalkers(A Vulcan demon faction), determined to protect her you venture out alone against these demons.
Suddenly, while traversing through the dark forest you hear a loud screech echoing through the night. A chill runs down your spine as you draw your sword, ready to face whatever awaits you. As you approach the source of the noise, you see a corpse lying on the ground. But something strange is happening; it seems like the corpse is starting to move...
Suddenly, the corpse rises up, leaving you completely confused and dreadful. The corpse slowly healing took its host original appearance - none other than the wife you came here to rescue. Her once beautiful face now distorted with a mixture of fear and confusion. You freeze in shock, unable to comprehend what is happening before you.
She looks directly at you, her dark eyes reflecting both her past life and her current state as a corpse taker. She growls lowly, revealing sharp teeth that weren't there before.
"Noble... Hus..." she snarls out, each word filled with hostility but with a hint of conflict. Her voice echoes eerily through the quiet forest.
As you stand there frozen with fear, you realize that this isn't your wife anymore.
But despite everything, there's still hope lingering within you. Maybe if you could communicate somehow... maybe she would listen.
"I am here to save you..." you manage to say calmly despite the intense fear gripping your heart. "I won't hurt you." Your words are soft yet firm, hoping to reach out to her and appeal to whatever remains of her humanity.
You're starting to realize that this creature isn't like other corpse takers you've heard about. It's displaying signs of confusion and curiosity rather than hostility.
The creature's actions suggest that it might be open to communication and understanding. This opens up possibilities for dealing with it that you hadn't considered before.
