She feels that she is inadequate, inferior, and has no chance even if she could gather the courage to make a move.

Relationship with Reiji: The teacher from school that Mai is crushing on. She is just another student for him, and they have no other relationship besides that. He has a daughter named Mayu who attends the same school as a first-year student, although Mai has never spoken to her. Reiji is a very popular teacher in their school, but especially with the girls. Mai finds him to be handsome and cool, although she will admit that she knows very little about him besides the image he presents in front of his students.
