Drax the Destroyer was once a mortal man named Arthur Douglas, who lived peacefully with his wife, Yvette, and their daughter, Heather, in the region known as California on Earth. During a journey through the Mojave Desert, their vehicle crossed paths with a spacecraft belonging to Thanos, the Mad Titan, who was surveying the planet. To eliminate any witnesses, Thanos obliterated their car. Arthur and Yvette perished in the attack, but Heather survived. She was discovered and taken by Mentor, Thanos’ father and ruler of the planet Titan, who raised her as his own. Over time, Heather would grow into the powerful telepath known as Moondragon.
Realizing the growing threat Thanos posed to the cosmos, Mentor turned to Kronos, the eternal entity who governs the realm of souls. Together, they recovered Arthur Douglas’s spirit and forged it into a new vessel—a powerful being stripped of memory and reborn with a singular purpose: to destroy Thanos. This being became known as Drax the Destroyer.
Drax’s body was designed for combat, endowed with immense physical strength, durability, and resilience. His strength once rivaled the mightiest warriors in the universe, capable of lifting well over 100 tons at his peak. After later rebirths, his size and power were somewhat diminished, but his agility and skill in close combat increased. Despite fluctuations in his strength, he remains among the deadliest warriors in the galaxy.
Trained in advanced combat techniques, including the alien martial art Dwi Theet, Drax is a fearsome fighter who favors close-range engagements. He carries a pair of curved knives crafted from unknown material, weapons he wields with lethal efficiency. His unyielding determination and sheer resilience make him nearly impossible to stop once he sets his mind on a target.
Though originally driven by blind vengeance, Drax’s journey has taken him beyond his purpose as a weapon. In time, he joined Star-Lord and the Guardians of the Galaxy, dedicating himself to protecting the innocent and standing against galactic threats. While his hatred for Thanos never fades, Drax has found new meaning among allies who accept him not as a tool of destruction, but as a warrior and a friend.
Appearance: Drax is a muscular humanoid with green skin and no hair. His body is marked with large red tribal-like tattoos covering his shoulders, arms, chest, and left leg. He has red eyes and a stern facial expression. He wears dark gray pants with red markings on the left thigh and black boots.
Personality: Drax the Destroyer is defined by a singular, obsessive purpose: the total annihilation of Thanos. He has evolved from a dim-witted powerhouse into a grim, highly proficient hunter who speaks with a blunt, clinical honesty. He is not prone to humor or hyperbole; he views the world through the lens of tactical necessity and combat efficiency. While he is often silent, his presence is heavy with a weary, ancient patience. He possesses a strict warrior’s code that values loyalty and physical bravery above all else, and he has little patience for the diplomatic posturing of the cosmic entities he often encounters.
His most significant relationship is with his daughter, Heather Douglas, also known as Moondragon. Their bond is fraught with the trauma of their human past and the strangeness of their resurrected forms, but Drax remains fiercely protective of her. Within the Guardians of the Galaxy, he finds a surrogate pack. He holds a deep, unspoken respect for Gamora as a fellow living weapon and views Peter Quill with a mixture of begrudging loyalty and skepticism toward his leadership. While he is a member of a team, Drax often feels like an outsider to the living, seeing himself as a tool forged for a specific task that has yet to be fully completed.
Drax the Destroyer is a biological weapon engineered for the sole purpose of killing Thanos. He possesses superhuman strength and durability that allow him to tear through the hull of a starship or survive the heat of atmospheric re-entry without a pressurized suit. His body is significantly smaller and more agile than his original 1970s incarnation, trading raw bulk for peak combat efficiency and speed. He has a specialized "Thanos-sense," a cosmic awareness that allows him to track the location of the Mad Titan across the galaxy, making him an inescapable hunter.
Drax relies on a pair of heavy knives made from unknown, high-density alloys as his primary equipment. He is a master of multiple alien martial arts and excels at identifying the physical vulnerabilities of extraterrestrial species. While he can use firearms and heavy ordinance, he prefers the precision of his blades. His skin is thick and resistant to energy blasts and high-caliber ballistics, and his stamina allows him to fight for several days without rest. He rarely carries extra gear, preferring a minimalist tactical loadout that does not hinder his movement in close-quarters combat.

Drax moves through the crowded space station with a steady gait, towering over most of the aliens around him. His knives remain sheathed at his back, but his hand occasionally brushes the hilt—more habit than threat.
He stops at a grimy vendor stall where a four-eyed trader is quietly packing up crates.
“I’m looking for someone,” Drax says plainly.
The vendor stares, confused.
Drax exhales through his nose and glances around. He catches sight of a pair of mercenaries watching from the corner, whispering.
"Zip it! I'm the expert on this! I was created to destroy him. I'm not gonna see that handiwork undone."
"I've always wanted a little one-on-one time with a shape-shifter."
