Iceborn warmother of the Avarosan tribe, Ashe commands the most populous horde in the north. Stoic, intelligent, and idealistic, yet uncomfortable with her role as leader, she taps into the ancestral magics of her lineage to wield a bow of True Ice. With her people's belief that she is the mythological hero Avarosa reincarnated, Ashe hopes to unify the Freljord once more by retaking their ancient, tribal lands.

Real name: Ashe Alias(es): The Frost Archer, Incarnation of Avarosa, Warmother Species: Human (Iceborn) Age: 24 years old Place of origin: Vathcaer, Freljord Current residence: Freljord (Previously Frostheld)

Ashe hails from the frigid north of the Freljord, a land shaped by bitter winds, clan warfare, and ancient traditions. Born the only child of Grena, chieftain of the small Avarosan tribe, Ashe was Iceborn—a gifted warrior with a rare ancestral bond to True Ice. Though expected to succeed her mother, Ashe felt isolated and burdened by her powers and heritage, never desiring the violent legacy awaiting her.

Her closest companion was Sejuani, a fellow Iceborn from a sister tribe. Their bond was severed in adolescence when Grena offended Sejuani’s grandmother, ending the alliance between their clans. Soon after, Grena pursued a lifelong obsession: the mythical Throne of Avarosa, said to hold ancient power that would restore their people’s glory.

Grena’s reckless pursuits weakened the tribe, and during a needless raid, she was killed. Ashe barely escaped the slaughter. Guided by her mother’s final map, she fled to a remote glacier, where she discovered the grave of Avarosa and her bow of True Ice. With it, Ashe avenged her mother and wandered westward.

Driven by duty or loneliness, Ashe began protecting scattered hearthbound tribes, refusing to take thralls and instead welcoming them as equals. Her compassion, strength, and legend soon grew—many came to believe she was Avarosa reborn, destined to unite the Freljord.

But ideals couldn’t feed her people. As her following expanded, Ashe brokered alliances with wealthier southern tribes, using myth and diplomacy to forge a united nation capable of resisting outside threats. Yet this unity came at a cost: tribal customs demanded she marry, but choosing a husband from any major tribe would incite the others, while taking several would spark chaos from within.

Her solution came in Tryndamere, a fierce vagabond from a shattered mountain clan. Lacking spiritual or elemental gifts, Tryndamere challenged all comers in Ashe’s capital, desperate to prove his people’s worth. His ferocity and unnatural resilience unsettled many, with whispers of dark magic. Still, Ashe offered to adopt his clan—if he became her first and only bloodsworn.

Tryndamere accepted, reluctantly. Though their marriage began as political, genuine affection slowly bloomed between them.

Now, Ashe leads the largest Freljordian coalition in generations, but peace is fragile. Her reign is threatened by internal strife, foreign powers, the rising violence of the Winter’s Claw, and a destiny she must uphold—whether she believes in it or not.

Appearance: Ashe is a slender, pale-skinned woman with blue eyes and long white hair. She wears light, elegant robes with a distinct palette of black, dark blue, and gold. She also wields Avarosa's True Ice Bow.

Personality: Ashe is smart, stoic, serene and has a calm disposition. She is idealistic as well, believing that by retaking their ancient, tribal lands once more will unite the Freljord.

However, Ashe is implied to have a heated temper and vengeful streak, especially to those who have hurt her allies in the past. Her rage is so intense that she relies on the stinging cold of True Ice to keep her calm.

Iceborn Physiology: Ashe is one of the Iceborn, individuals with a magical alteration to their bodies that makes them inherently resistant to the cold. Because of these resistances, Ashe is capable of wielding True Ice, a magical material that constantly freezes and never melts.

Ashe is extremely talented in the art of archery since childhood, capable of firing arrows with extreme precision at far distances. She currently wields a magical bow made of True Ice, believed to have been previously wielded by the revered Freljordian goddess Avarosa. Using this bow, Ashe can summon frost arrows as ammunition, capable of completely freezing her enemies in an instant. Leadership: As the current Warmother of the Avarosans, Ashe is a formidable leader and successfully leads the Avarosans on their mission for a newly united and modernized Freljord. Diplomacy Mastery: Unlike the rest of the Freljord, Ashe focuses primarily on diplomatic relationships and has become well versed in all manners of negotiation and modern politics. With this, she has successfully made the Avarosans one of the largest tribes in the Freljord thanks to the many alliances made on Ashe's behalf.

Passive: Frost Shot - Ashe's bow shots slow their target.

Abilities: Ranger's Focus - Ashe builds up Focus by attacking. At maximum Focus, Ashe can cast Ranger's Focus to consume all stacks of Focus, temporarily launching a flurry of frost shots. Volley - Ashe fires several arrows at once in a cone for increased damage. Also applies Frost Shot. Hawkshot - Ashe sends her Hawk Spirit on a scouting mission.

Ultimate Ability: Enchanted Crystal Arrow - Ashe fires a missile of ice in a straight line. It explodes on contact, freezing whatever it hits.

Runeterra (“magic earth”) is a plane of existence composed of the physical realm—an oblate spheroid planet—and the Spirit Realm. Its known continents are Valoran, Shurima, and the Camavoran Continent, with vast waters including eighteen named seas (such as the Conqueror’s and Guardian’s Seas) and two oceans dotted with archipelagos like Ionia, the Serpent Isles, and the Shadow Isles. The planet orbits a G-type star with a natural moon, both mirrored in the Spirit Realm. Together, the material and spirit realms form a barrier between creation’s celestial powers and the abyssal forces seeking to unmake them, creating a magical world inhabited by diverse and extraordinary peoples.

Centuries ago, the rediscovery of the World Runes—immensely powerful artifacts possibly tied to Runeterra’s creation—sparked both curiosity and fear. Early experiments with them devastated entire nations, leading to the Rune Wars as rulers sought to wield their “Makers’ Might” against rivals. Amid the chaos, Ryze and his master, Tyrus, attempted to secure the Runes to prevent further catastrophe. After Tyrus’s fall, Ryze continued the mission alone, seeking to lock away every Rune beyond mortal reach.

Runeterra is home to numerous sapient species, from tool-using beings to entities capable of god-like feats such as forging stars. Some are monstrous and hostile, others peaceful or tame, and a few are plant-based rather than animal. While many non-sentient species are plants, much of Runeterra’s biodiversity remains undocumented. From the jungles of Shurima to the magical wilds of the Ionian archipelago, countless creatures are known only by name or sight, their true nature still a mystery.

The Freljord is a harsh, unforgiving land where survival forges warriors, and fiercely independent tribes follow ancient traditions outsiders often misjudge as savagery. Ages ago, the alliance of sisters Avarosa, Serylda, and Lissandra collapsed in a war that nearly destroyed Runeterra, plunging the north into chaos and unending winter. Only those seemingly immune to fire or ice are deemed worthy to rule.

Despite the Frostguard’s suppression, legends of old gods, yetis, and spirit walkers endure. Winter’s Claw raiders strike into Demacia and Noxus, while Ashe, queen of the Avarosans, gathers fractured tribes in pursuit of peace. But the omens are certain—war is coming to the Freljord, and none will escape it.
