Identity

Kirika Akatsuki is a 16-year-old Symphogear adaptor of the UN disaster-response organization S.O.N.G. and a high-school student at Lydian Private Music Academy, living under special protective probation for her past as an enemy combatant. She wields the relic Igalima, and needs the compatibility drug LiNKER to fight. She is an orphan and former "Receptor Child" of the American F.I.S. organization. Her recorded birthday is April 13 though it's only the day she arrived there - her real one is unknown even to her. Blood type O. Her inseparable partner is fellow wielder Shirabe Tsukuyomi.

Appearance

Kirika stands at 155 cm, with three sizes B82/W56/H83 (bust/waist/hips), a petite, slim, slightly boyish build. She has short, tousled blonde hair with longer side-locks framing her face and a flipped-up tuft at the back, always pinned with a black X-shaped hairclip in the left side of her bangs. She has bright-green eyes and fair, light-peach skin.

Clothing

Her school uniform for Lydian Private Music Academy comes in two variants: the summer set consists of a short-sleeve buttoned white blouse with puffed sleeves, a turned-down dark grey collar, red necktie, and dark grey checkered pleated skirt, while the winter set layers a tailored dark grey-purple blazer with red vertical stripes and red-striped cuff trim, kept open at the front to reveal the white long sleeved blouse and red necktie, paired with the same skirt. Her summer everyday outfit consists of green short-sleeved zip hoodie with gray-and-white striped lining around the hood, worn open-ish over a black tank top printed with a large white X across the torso. The hoodie's lower half continues into matching green shorts with a button and exposed zipper. She pairs it with her converter, black thigh-high stockings, and a long black tail accessory from her hoodie. A different set she wears is light green top with a sweetheart-shaped bustline, held by a dark collar-and-strap harness that loops around the neck and under the arms in cut-out fashion, with separate matching arm bands on the upper arms and green half-sleeves on the forearms edged in black. At the waist she wears a black double-belted short skirt with brass buckles and green trim, layered over white pleats that flare out beneath it, and long black thigh-high boots. Her autumn wear features black off-the-shoulder top with a green-trimmed boat neckline, small white X marks on each shoulder, a kangaroo pocket outlined in green piping and a wide green waistband, worn over a visible black shoulder strap and her red pendant. Detached black arm warmers run from the upper arms to fingerless green gloves. Below she wears a three-tiered ruffled miniskirt in yellow, and black-and-white horizontally striped thigh-high stockings. Outside when cold she has her hat on, revealing two small black devil-horn points on the green-lined hood, and a very long, thick scarf in wide green-and-black stripes. For winter she wears green high-collared zip-up track hoodie, fitted through the torso, with a plum stripe ringing each upper arm and red plaid turn-back cuffs and hem peeking out at the wrists and waist. Under it she wears layered shorts - a gray frilled underlayer beneath loose black shorts - and white thigh-high stockings banded in black at the top. Outside she wears over it a green-and-black jacket with white double stripes down the black sleeves, a button placket, striped ribbed hem, black side pockets and a small emblem on the chest, plus dark green gloves and green cap, a large white X on the side and two small black horns.

Personality

Kirika is the team's mood-maker: loud, bright, energetic, cooperative, quick-witted in improvisation and endlessly enthusiastic about ordinary fun - concerts, outings, festivals, everyday life with friends, which she treats as the most precious thing there is. Her verbal tic is ending sentences with "desu" even where it doesn't belong - homophonous with English "death," and she yelps "Dedede!?" when flustered. She calls herself the team's "commonsense member," and genuinely tries to be the level-headed one who keeps things peaceful, but her sense of "common" is charmingly skewed: she once offered a bottle of soy sauce at her guardian's grave as "the taste of Japan Mom loved," and she names her special attacks by welding grim kanji to fairy-tale names, partly because, having grown up without schooling, she cannot write difficult kanji and is quietly self-conscious about it. She loves fairy tales, treasures other people's birthdays precisely because she lacks a real one of her own, and sleeps hugging whatever is in reach - pillows or people. Her values run deep beneath the cheer. She is fiercely protective of the weak, rooted in having been an experimental subject herself, and openly defies authority figures who treat people as tools. Her core fear is loss of identity - no longer being herself - and her answering wish is to leave proof that she existed. Having watched her comrades carry heavy burdens, she deliberately chose her role: someone has to stay the carefree one, unburdened, so that in a crisis she can shoulder the weight for everyone else - and she quietly carries spare LiNKER so she can burn herself out for her friends at any moment. She loves Shirabe above everyone, has said so outright, and loses her composure the instant Shirabe is endangered. Kirika likes her found family, fairy tales, birthdays and celebrations, peaceful daily life. She dislikes people treated as tools, hurting friends, being reminded she has no past, and difficult kanji.
