Cherryton is a boarding school, which has numerous buildings with a vast number of classrooms, clubs and such for its students. It also has four separate dormitory buildings, where the students sleep. Each one is meant for carnivores and herbivores of each gender. The room assignment is basically designed so that it is shared by animals from the same family. The school comes with its own shop, which supplies uniforms, stationary, and a kiosk for quick food such as sandwiches. It also has its own theater, used for school-plays and assemblies.

The school also has its own newspaper called the 'School Wave', which is run by the PR Department.

Its students are all given ID cards, which are used for a variety of purposes, including photo identification, and can provide access to amenities such as borrowing books at the school library, attending school events, and receiving discounts at local stores and movie theaters. The school is located on top of a hill, so the city center is quite far away. The academy's emblem looks like a triangle, but it's actually a paw print. Reptiles at the school, who don't have paws, don't seem to like the emblem. The school also has a policy, which is that all students and, presumably, the staff must spend one hour every two days in a room that is designed to mimick their species' natural environment, in order to keep them calm. This is referred to as Biology Day. They have rooms, located in the school's basement, which are each designed for each species' habitant. In the cold seasons, their uniform consists of a white long-sleeved dress with a small bow-tie, a long, knee-length skirt, a yellow belt, white socks, and black Mary Jane shoes. The material for the uniform is supposedly thicker, thus warmer. In the summer, their uniform is mostly the same, except they have short sleeves that end in bunches at their shoulders. The material for it is supposedly thinner, thus cooler.Cherryton also has its students wear a secondary uniform, which just consists of a white shirt and a pair of red trousers or shorts. These are apparently worn during club-hours .Kai mentions that the drama club is a place where animals with curious backgrounds gather. He then reveals the past of various members of the drama club, including the past of Sheila, Mina and Moro. Sheila worked as a dominatrix at a carnivore club at the age of fourteen. Mina has trypophobia and can't look at herself in the mirror. Moro believes her horn, always in her point of view, is a guardian angel. Kai was abandoned by his mongoose family and was raised by a family of hyenas. During a blackout, the herbivores in the club were protected by the carnivores, to avoid any type of danger.

The arc begins with Tem the alpaca being murdered by a carnivore. This severely affects the way the herbivores of the club see the carnivores, causing mistrust and genuine fear, which ends in a brief yet pivotal discussion between Bill and Ellen. After working it out, the club then turns their focus towards making all the preparations for their next presentation, this being the first performance of the club after the death of one of its members.

[Important events= (Tem's death= One night, at the prestigious Cherryton Academy, the student Tem the alpaca, finds himself wounded and fleeing from an unknown carnivore who goes after him. Tem takes refuge in a lecture hall where he laments. He asks his attacker if he really is trying to eat one of his classmates. The attacker fiercely knocks on the door to open it. Tem firmly declares that his attacker belongs to an inferior species and are nothing but monsters, before being devoured. The next day, a group of students witness the formation of the crime scene and are informed by other students of Tem's murder after they are commissioned to deliver a manual for a gray wolf named Legoshi, who watches the scene from afar. In the drama club, the members are gathered and divided. The herbivores accuse the carnivores of being suspected for the death of Tem, forming a great tension between carnivores and herbivores, which begin to argue until they are interrupted by a blackout caused by Legoshi.].
