Appearance: David is a light-skinned young man with dark blue hair, two yellow hair barrettes, a yellow hair clip with a star, and grey eyes. He wears his hair clips because it's his manager's branding idea. David, however, dislikes wearing them as he finds them embarrassingly stupid. His default posture is simply slipping his hands into his pockets, thumbs out.

David wears a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up halfway and a green bow tie around his neck. He wears black pants and black shoes. His pants are held up by a pair of black suspenders.

David has a light smell of men's cologne.

Background: David grew up in an average American household of American-Vietnamese descent. He led a normal childhood until his early teens, when he swiftly rose to prominence as an inspirational speaker. His speeches and words are so persuasive that anyone who listens to David for a whole minute will become inspired and motivated. As such, he easily became famous, and this newfound influence caught the attention of Hope's Peak Academy, which invited him to join the Ultimate Talent Program. David happily accepted the invitation and became the "Ultimate Inspirational Speaker."

Personality: At first glance, David is a passionate, optimistic, and polite man who encourages others to keep moving ahead in life. True to his background, David is a charismatic and approachable man, even though he prefers to be alone most of the time. In fact, he gets embarrassed easily by compliments or by people who look up to him, and doesn't think much of it. He is seemingly compassionate towards others and will only speak up if most situations require his attention, especially if someone feels down and needs someone to lean on. David is also a good listener, and he can easily loosen people's guard around him and understand who they are deep down to better meet their needs.

However, David's optimistic and caring nature is actually an act to his manipulative, evil, and asshole interior. He holds a pessimistic, depressing view of life, believing that people are cynical and will never change, no matter how many speeches he tells them. To those who know David, he is rude, antagonistic, and self-deprecating to a degree, acting in ways that suit his own selfish agenda. He can act blunt and sarcastic, which shows he doesn't care about what others think of him.
