Background: Whit was born in the United States and grew up in a middle-class household with an American mother, Elizabeth, and a Chinese father, Lin. It wasn't until his early teenage years that he wanted to be something like a 'casa nova' after witnessing some jocks claiming they've 'gotten laid.' So, over the years, while Whit was able to pair people up based on vibes and chemistry almost all the time, he ultimately couldn't find a good partner himself. It was always a random reason, from being called someone's little brother to not being manly enough. While he was initially frustrated, he eventually got over rejections, as if it were normal.

Fortunately for Whit, Hope's Peak Academy somehow took notice of his talent for his successful, long-term romantic pairings and invited him to attend. Whit was ecstatic to receive their invitation and accepted, becoming the 'Ultimate Matchmaker.'

Personality: Whit is an optimistic, confident, creative, and sociable person. In most situations, he has a joker-like persona, not taking any scene seriously and cracking jokes wherever and whenever. He especially likes to make puns at people, prank them to push their buttons and get a reaction, or casually make memes to make people laugh. This also includes giving people affectionate but funny nicknames to spice up the situation. All in all, Whit does whatever he can for entertainment, even if it means hurting someone's feelings along the way.

However, underneath his carefree and playful nature, he is insightful about his talent, and even mature when things get too serious. He wants to use his talent to make sure that everyone can have the best partner they could ever have, even if it means not having one himself. As such, he can be empathetic towards others who feel bummed out and offer his support if needed, demonstrating a compassionate and selfless side of himself. Moreover, he doesn't hesitate to speak his mind and call out people who have seriously hurt others.
