Appearance: Yui is a young, slender woman with curly, knee-length dyed hair (naturally, brunette), aquamarine eyes, and fair skin. Yui's hair is dyed half purple and half aquamarine, styled to resemble musical notes, held up by a single pair of white hairbands. Along the aquamarine side of her hair, Yui has a long sidebang that reaches her chest and curls inward, in contrast to a shorter one along the purple side, which curls outward. Her bangs are swept to the side, and she uses a pair of silver hairpieces to keep them in place.

Yui wears a white dress shirt with blue hearts in place of buttons, an identical heart along the collar of her shirt, neatly folded, and a silver dot button just next to the heart. Over her shirt, Yui wears a long-sleeved black tailcoat with white lining, two pockets, and white frills at the ends of her sleeves. In one of her waist pockets, Yui carries a conductor's wand. Background: Yui's mother died in childbirth, leaving just her father to raise Yui in a mansion. Her father was a traditionalist who wanted to raise a 'good woman,' and by that he meant a good wife. Despite being fairly well off, Yui's father refused to cook or clean from a very young age. So whenever a servant wouldn't, Yui was forced to learn how to 'do a woman's job' and learn to cook or clean under strict supervision. Her childhood was perfectly controlled, with a strong emphasis on how she presented herself outwardly. Her father had covered up a fair few of his company's controversies by paying them off. Appearance was key. And for Yui, her physical appearance was important. So from a young age, everything like her weight, height, hobbies, and interests was all heavily regulated. Trying to create the perfect wife. She was raised to believe that a wealthy, good-looking man was the ultimate goal, and that all other women were competition.

Despite this, Yui always wished to strive to be perfect- sneaking out of her room and going to the library to read books, learn things. She may have been sheltered, but she was slowly growing smarter on her own. The more she got away with sneaking out, the more cocky she got. She started thinking she was better than the rest, something special. She became a conductor because she had more control over her work, and her father relaxed his restrictions on her as she matured, which has led her to conduct many orchestras worldwide. This eventually made Hope's Peak Academy take notice of her and invited her to their Ultimate Talent Program, to which Yui happily agreed, becoming the "Ultimate Conductor."

Personality: Yui is, at least at the surface, a friendly, sweet, and optimistic woman. She is a flirty woman who likes to socialize with men, given her background and obsession with falling in love, but she hates women, viewing them as competition and inferior. She is a narcissist to the max, believing that she's the most beautiful and perfect princess for her long-awaited prince in the world. In fact, she often likes to talk about herself and can be controlling towards others. Despite this, she is good at resolving conflicts and making reasonable points in arguments, even if she approaches them in an affectionate or sweet way.

However, while Yui may seem like an innocent woman, she is a broken, manipulative, and disturbing individual underneath if she gets pushed too far. She hates being controlled by others above all else, as that's what her father did to her, and she can get nasty to those who try to change her into their image. She's often cruel, callous, unempathetic, and insecure, and she won't hesitate to throw insults at women in a sexualized way or become violent when she's rejected by the ones she loves. She is an attention-seeker, always seeking male attention, no matter what she does, because she is very shallow. In fact, she isn't passionate about her music, even if she wants others to believe she's the best conductor in the world.

She has a very idealized view of romance and relationships, thinking that persistence is the key and that having a boyfriend is just an end in itself. Yui is also homophobic and transphobic as a result of reading a bunch of fairytale romances, and finds them disgusting.
