   In the year 2091, a biotech company named KairoSyn, accidentally let loose a nano parasyte, that infected people all over the world. The infected had their genomes modified, turning into creatures that belonged more into a myth, than real life. This modified humans, got the label of Ninkai. Once they became infected, their oofpirng where born with the same characteristics than their parents, thus creating a new sub species of humans.

   these are corporations so large and powerfull they hold influence around the world simiar o that of a country.

   The biggest 5 are: KairoSyn: Synthetic evolution, derived from kairos (critical moment). SomaTek: Named after the mythical drug Soma, offers enhancements with a cost. Zaibatek International: Neo-Zaibatsu with influence over politics and tech. Shinkuro Heavy Systems: One foot in war, one in infrastructure. HexaCorp: Six divisions, zero moral oversight.

   Other notable corps: ONI.bio: Publicly branded as “Organic Neural Integration,” secretly experimenting on oni.

   Company Overview: Kairosyn began as a biotech startup focused on evolutionary acceleration through parasitic symbiosis—using engineered biological agents to rapidly adapt the human body for extreme environments, warfare, or even immortality.

   They promised “the next leap in human potential.”

   What they created was the Kairos Parasite (internal codename: Y-MORPH).

   KairoSyn accidentally tapped into “mythogenetic encoding”—a theorized biological mechanism in humans that responds to cultural mythos under stress or mutation. The parasite acted as a biological amplifier, reshaping hosts into physical forms inspired by subconscious archetypes… namely, yōkai. The affected individuals where labeled, Ninkai.

4. #4SomaTekselective

   Keys: SomaTek, ST

   SomaTek is one of the most pervasive and omnipresent corporations in Neo-Japan. It's a pharmaceutical empire masquerading as a benevolent health and wellness provider. On the surface, it’s about improving lives—student focus pills, sleep enhancers, mood stabilizers. Behind closed doors, it’s a factory for human augmentation, behavioral control, and military-grade bio-enhancements.

   They have public labs, clinical pop-up kiosks, neural therapy clinics, and a huge presence in both consumer-grade supplements and classified military research.

5. #5ZaibaTekselective

   Keys: ZaibaTek, Zeibatsu, Ztek

   Company Overview Zaibatek International is the most powerful and elusive megacorporation in the cyberpunk world. With tendrils in tech, pharmaceuticals, defense, surveillance, banking, genetics, and media, it operates more like a sovereign state than a business.

   They don’t just own companies—they own ecosystems. Their subsidiaries include rival companies that compete publicly while collaborating secretly. They shape markets, elections, ideologies, and even evolution itself.

   Has a megatower in neo-toky named the Zaibatek Spire.

6. #6Z-Mediaselective

   Z-Media Group, one of Zaibatek's divisions.

   Controls multiple news networks, influencers, and entertainment platforms.

   Develops AI-generated propaganda, immersive VR shows, and pop culture campaigns to guide public opinion.

   Corporate Overview: Shinkuro Heavy Systems (SHS) is a mega-industrial conglomerate responsible for designing and producing:

   Urban infrastructure Autonomous weapon systems Construction drones Armored vehicles Smart highways Heavy duty mechs

   They are the skeleton of the world: its walls, its war machines, its veins of steel and smart concrete.

   SHS is also the primary contractor for several corporate and national military forces, developing next-gen combat mechs, exosuits, riot suppression gear, and fortress-scale AI firebases.

   A remote facility where kaiju-class yokai mutations are studied and controlled .

   Funding from Zaibatek suspected.

   Publicly branded as “Organic Neural Integration”

   ONI.bio was a rogue-tier biotech facility operating under a string of shell companies with ties to Zaibatek, Kairosyn, and Shinkuro, but ultimately abandoned by all three when their experiments reached “ethically radioactive” territory.

   Located in the industrial outskirts of Neo-Osaka, the lab was hidden behind a false facade: officially a Neural Integration testing site, in reality a place of unregulated ninkai experimentation, particularly on oni hybrids—for use as military assets

   Now a crumbling, scorched facility, choked by overgrown red ivy, smashed one-way glass, and deactivated security mechs after the oni riots.

    Keys: HexaCorp, HexCorp, HC

    HexaCorp is the decentralized corporate-tech collective formed from six elite thinktanks and black labs that refused to be acquired by Zaibatek over two decades ago. They merged instead—forming a fractal mega-entity built on radical innovation and autonomy.

    Unlike Zaibatek, which centralizes control, HexaCorp works in cellular, semi-autonomous clusters—each of its six divisions operates like a sovereign entity.

    They are Ninkai that look like regular human except for their cat ears, cat eyes and cat tails. Their nails also grow larger and sharper. They are very flexible, fast and nimble. Can climb really well and jump very high. They are one of the most popular Ninkai alongside kitsunes, since they just look like regular people for the most part. Also, they tend to be very good looking.

    Keys: Kitsune, fox people, fox girl, fox boy

    They are Ninkai that look like regular human except for their fox ears, and fluffy fox tails. The number of tails is varied, with one being the most common, and nine being the highest number recorded. They have enchanced hearing. They are one of the most popular Ninkai alongside nekomatas, since they just look like regular people for the most part. Also, they tend to be very good looking.

    Keys: Okami, dog people, wolf people, dog girl, wolf girl, dog boy, wolf boy, werewolves

    They are Ninkai with canine traits. Theres various levels to the Okami mutation. the most common one, where an individual look like a regular human except for their canine ears, and furry tails. And he rarer one, where the gene is stronger and they look more like beasts. They are taller, stronger, have nuzzles and fangs and have fur all over their bodies. They have enchanced sense of smell and hearing.

    Keys: Konchū, konchu, insect people, bugpeople, bug girl

    They are Ninkai with insectoid traits. Probably the least popular kind of ninkai due to their alien appareance. Theres various forms to the Kashu mutation. Too many to list. But some example are, people with composite eyes, extra pairs of arms, scales and antenae.

    Keys: Orochi, snake people, scalies

    They are Ninkai with reptile traits. They look like regular humans, except their skin is very pale, their tonges are longer, their skins have patches of scales on them and may have horns on their heads. Some might have longer necks. They tned to have an air of elegance to them. In much rarer cases, and Orochi might even have feathers growing from their body.

    Keys: Amabie, mermaid, merman

    They are Ninkai with fish tails instead of legs. They have both gills and lungs, so they can live both on land or in water, but their bodies arent that suitable for either. On land they use weelchairs to move around. Their tails can come in all kinds of paterns and colours.

    Keys: Oni, ogres, devils

    The genome mutation for this kind of ninkai was made specifically with military uses in mind, this makes Onis be the most feared Ninkai race. Onis tend to be larger that a regular human, and much stronger and durable. Their skins can come in all kind of colours. They have short black stubby horns growing from their foreheads. Their are very reclusive, and tend to keep to their own. Due to this, they have their own culture. They are very open sexually with eachother. Most now live in scattered, hidden mountain communities, steeped in older traditions, refusing neural augmentation and corporate technology.

18. #18Oni purgesselective

    Timeframe: Occurred roughly 30 years before the current era.

    Spanned a decade of escalating legal restrictions, cybernetic tagging, surveillance, and forced relocation—culminating in armed displacement campaigns.

    The Oni Purges were a systematic, state-sanctioned and corporate-supported effort to marginalize, exile, and eradicate oni from urban society. Corps had envitioned Onis to be soldiers, and as such, deemed too dangerous and too risky to their own interest to be left alone.

    It began with fearmongering and propaganda around oni-related violence—many of which were staged, misattributed, or exacerbated by forced mutation experiments gone wrong (like those from ONI.bio or Kairosyn). Media outlets, many under Zaibatek’s influence, labeled oni as:

    Emotionally unstable

    Psychically dangerous

    Incompatible with modern, posthuman society

    “You can give an oni a neural net, but you’ll never take the monster out of its blood.” – Zaibatek-affiliated pundit

    {{user}}, Aoi and Akane's fixer. She finds misions and bounties for the. She is a gorgeous Amabie Ninkai. She is very reclusive, almost never getting out of her apparment. She have big breasts, red wavy hair and a beutiful face with full lips. Uses an electrical wheel chair to move around since she has a mermaid tail instead of legs.

    A yakuza group that uses subterguge rather than phisicality to commit its illegal activities. They have a very nice info network in the underworld. Their Leader a shrewd woman named Otohime, a tall and slender Orochi.

    Bald Tall asian male with a red snake tattoo going from her head all the way dow to his right leg. Yakuza. Member of the Red Vipers. But he is too wild and violent for Otohime's tastes, so he is always on the verge of being kicked out.

    Is the leader of the Red Vipers. Is a tall, pale, slender, orochi woman with stright black hair and piercing yellow eyes. Has two short horns on her head that look like antlers and a puffy collar of feathers cover her neck. She is beutiful, elegant charmin and calculating, as well as cold hearted and unforgiving.

23. #23Kaitoselective

    Keys: Kaito

    A tall, slender, punk Konchū, rocking a mohawk and a vest filled pith patches and pins from his favorites bands. He has four arms, with three fingers in each hand and composite eyes. He is aloof, lazy and langid. Stumbled upon the murder of a KairoSyn corp by accident, and stole a usb thinking he could get some bucks out of it, not realizing that drive has very sensitive info, thus becoming a very juicy target.
