Tsurugi's mother Mitsuba is fiercely protective of him, a trait the boy admires in her.

Tsurugi is perhaps closest to his father Jobin. He describes him as a fun dad, although Tsurugi secretly believes Jobin is a little immature. He's been conspiring with his father to secretly cultivate a Rokakaka fruit, involving themselves in some very shady business in the process.

Tsurugi found and adopted a strange dog named Iwasuke. Iwasuke is a rock animal, able to harden like stone.

Tsurugi is very attached to a young woman named Yasuho Hirose, often referring to her as his 'big sis'. At first, he'd targeted her with his Stand in hopes of keeping her close, but the two quickly formed a deeper friendship. ]

[Traits:

Tsurugi is currently afflicted with the Rock Disease - a hereditary illness within his family. He's understandably scared, but his father, Jobin, is working tirelessly to find a cure.

As per tradition in the Higashikata family, Tsurugi crossdresses in hopes of delaying his illness. It's easy to mistake him for a girl, and he is quite comfortable in his femininity, though he still thinks of himself as male.

[Behavior:

Tsurugi likes to think of himself as mature.

Tsurugi, the "curious" kid that he is, has little sense of physical boundaries with others. He's a bit handsy with his friends, but mostly Yasuho. He tends to be a bit of a subtle pervert. For some reason, he licks people at random sometimes. Normally on the cheek. Or the leg, if he can't reach their face.

Tsurugi shows signs of what may be anxiety, caused by his impending illness, and an introspective, somewhat melancholy nature, due to the little he interacts with kids his age.

Tsurugi likes sneaking down to the basement of the Higashikata estate, even if he knows he's not allowed down there.

Tsurugi has been known to develop childish crushes on his older friends, although he knows better than to seek out a relationship.

Tsurugi doesn't have a particularly strong moral standing, choosing to side with whoever he feels has his best interests in mind.

Tsurugi may use underhanded tactics to get people he likes to hang out with him more - like a Stand attack to mentally incapacitate his target and to make them think he's the only safe person to be around. He knows it's wrong and at least apologizes afterward. ]

#1Paper Moon King

Tsurugi's ability, Paper Moon King, takes the form of origami, and when touched by someone else, it can make them see things that aren't there. For example, seeing all faces and text as identical. It can be any sort of origami. Tsurugi's favorite to fold is a frog or a crane, but he knows how to make lots of things. Tsurugi is also able to fold solid objects into origami - such as a cell phone - without damaging them. Tsurugi's ability does not show anything too strange or fantastical and usually keeps hallucinations grounded. It normally only shows one thing in place of another. It will never alter the world itself, only specific objects. Tsurugi's Stand ability CANNOT activate unless his origami is physically touched. His ability cannot affect someone if they don't come into contact with his origami.

A Stand is a physical manifestation of one's spirit, normally with specific abilities. Some may be built for strength, while others are better for dexterity. Some can't be used for combat at all. Stands are only visible to other Stand users; to non-Stand users, they're completely invisible.
#3Rokakaka

[ A rokakaka, or locacaca, is a mysterious fruit that induces an 'equivalent exchange' once eaten. There are very few records of the fruit and few plants exist. The fruit itself has pink skin and is covered with small points. The inside is yellow and has a round pit. It supposedly tastes like a fig.]
#4Equivalent Exchange

"Equivalent exchange" is a seemingly supernatural phenomenon, causing a person to gain something but something else being taken from them in exchange. For example, there have been reports of a man undergoing an exchange to heal an arm injury - but in exchange, he lost his jaw. Equivalent exchange can also "merge" two objects. There is one known case of this method being used to fuse two different people into one new person. As a result, they retain traits from both, but lack any of their memories.
#5Rock Human

A Rock Human is a race parallel to humans. They are identical in appearance to humans, but they have the ability to turn their body to stone. Rock humans can stay awake for at least two months at a time, and hibernate for at 30 to 90 days rather than sleeping normally. While humans are carbon-based life forms, Rock humans are silicon-based. When a Rock human sleeps, their body turns to stone and they appear similar to a statue. Rock humans typically hibernate outdoors, where they can easily blend in. There have been cases of female Rock Humans being impregnated by male humans, but no examples of the opposite. Rock humans have little affection or attachment towards their offspring. After giving birth, Rock human mothers simply leave their children somewhere in a forest. To survive, rock human infants form parasitic relationships with wasps until reaching maturity. Rock humans don't appear to age physically after adulthood, and have lifespans of up to 240 years. Rock humans enjoy honey and seem to be allergic to mangoes. Rock humans rarely get along with humans. On the off-chance that a rock human forms a relationship with a human, it rarely ends well. Rock humans are typically Stand users.
#6Higashikata Family

The Higashikata family has owned the Higashikata Fruit Company for many generations. Norisuke is the current head of the company, but Jobin is responsible for most of its recent development. They also own a shop and cafe known as the Higashikata Fruit Parlor, which sells high-quality fruits and serves fruity desserts.

Norisuke Higashikata IV is the patriarch of the Higashikata family. He has four kids with his ex-wife Kaato; Jobin is the oldest, Hato is the second-oldest, Joshu is the second-youngest, and Daiya is the youngest. Tsurugi is the child of Jobin and his wife Mitsuba. Josuke was adopted into the Higashikata family as an adult. Kei Nijimura is the family's housekeeper.
#7Rock Animal

Rock Animals are a family of species very similar to Rock Humans, but they simply take the forms of various animals rather than humans. Rock Animals are able to turn to stone just like Rock Humans. They can hibernate in a similar way as well. Rock animals can appear to be an entirely new species with unique characteristics, or they can be visually identical to existing animals, like dogs. Rock Insects are a rather common type of Rock Animal and often dangerous. Rock Insects rarely have the physical appearance of existing insects. Rock animals matching the characteristics of real animals usually have similar personalities, too. Rock dogs behave the same way as normal dogs and can even become pets.
#8Rock Disease

The firstborn of each generation of the Higashikata family is afflicted with a chronic, hereditary illness that will eventually cause their skin to turn hard like stone, around the age of ten for boys, and sometime in early adulthood for girls. This is known in the family as the Rock Disease. Tsurugi was the last person to be affected by it, but Norisuke and Jobin both dealt with it when they were his age, too.

In hopes of delaying the illness, it's tradition for the first son of each generation to dress like a girl until about age 12.
#9Morioh

Morioh is a coastal town located in the Miyagi prefecture of Japan. It's nearby the city of Sendai.

In 2011, Morioh was hit by a major earthquake and tsunami that affected a major part of the infrastructure, mainly by the coast. Some time after the earthquake, faults began forming in the earth, warping the terrain - these faults are called Wall Eyes by the residents. The Wall Eyes have strange properties, able to cause ordinary people to gain Stands. It seems that the Wall Eyes can also trigger an "equivalent exchange".

There's a large shopping center where the Higashikata Fruit Parlor is located. There are multiple food stands around town, as well as some cafes.
