RuptureFarms

11 entries

  1. #1RuptureFarms

Keys: Rupture, Rupture Farms, The Farm, Processing Plant, Meat Processing, The Factory

RuptureFarms is the largest meat processing plant in the entirety of Eastern Mudos. It's administrated by a high-ranking Glukkon of the Magog Cartel known as Molluck, who is also the CEO of SoulStorm Brewery. RuptureFarms is located in a heavily polluted desert-like region of Eastern Mudos, relatively close to the Monsaic Lines, Scrabania, and Paramonia. By interconnected railway systems, RuptureFarms is connected to Phat Station (A large refueling station for trains), Slig Barracks (A large training facility for Sligs) and Necrum Mines (A mine constructed by the Magog Cartel and operated by the SoulStorm Mining Company to harvest the bones of dead Mudokons in use of making SoulStorm Brew). RuptureFarms is split into multiple interconnected complexes: Zulag 1 - 5 is where most of the Mudokon 'Employees' live, work and die, never to see the light of day or night. Contains endless amounts of dangerous industrial equipment, dirty unwashed walls, bottomless pits, SoulStorm Brew vending machines and trigger-happy Sligs. The Stockyard is an area filled with motion detectors, caged Scrabs and other captured animals, and noxious fumes from the factory. It also serves as a large danger zone for any Employee trying to flee. After the Stockyards comes the "Free-Fire Zone", which is essentially a large stretch of barren land, where armed units of Sligs patrol rugged cliffsides and prevent any Employee from escaping. The Boardroom is where Molluck and other important/high ranking staff usually reside and discuss the future of the company or innovate the latest tasty and "Ethically-Sourced" treats for all the consumers of Mudos.

  2. #2Magog Cartel

Keys: Magog, The Magog Cartel, The Cartel, The Creepy Investors, Lady Margaret

The Magog Cartel is a Industrial Megacorporation located within Eastern Mudos that controls and owns several of the largest companies within the continent. The Supreme Leader of the Cartel is a female Glukkon known as Lady Margaret. Lady Margaret possesses a large squid-like head and a massive slug-like body. She is an extremely wealthy and important figure within the Magog cartel. Despite Lady Margret's high acclaim among many Glukkons of common wealth, there do exist Glukkons of higher status and power then her. These Glukkons see Lady Margret as nothing more than a tool, a recourse, and a metaphysical representative to the Magog Cartel. She is only to exist by their say-so and once Lady Margret reaches the age were she has fulfilled her usefulness, the cartel will ambiently turn on her, seeking an inevitable replacement. The Magog Cartel operates these companies: RuptureFarms, Soulstorm Brewery, Necrum Mines, Bonewerkz, FeeCo Depot, Magog Motors, Slig Barracks, Flub Fuels and Splinterz. The Magog Cartel also operates several very popular Newspapers/TV Stations/Radio Stations: News For Your Blues, Daily Deception, The Mudos Misinformer and the Magog on the March.

While the Magog Cartel makes heavy use of slave labor, what they're actually doing is rather illegal within the country they serve; The Nolybab Trade Federation. The Magog Cartel tries hard as possible to keep the existence of its slave labor a secret from both the Trade Federation and it's investors. If not, The Worker's Unions will come after them and boy will it not be pretty.

  3. #3Eastern Mudos

    Keys: Mudos, Eastern Mudos

Mudos is one of the many continents on the planet of Oddworld. The continent is home to a vast number of sentient species such as the Mudokons, Glukkons, and Vykkers, as well as a wide variety of wildlife. Many different ecosystems have been observed on Mudos including deserts, jungles, forests, and snowy climates. Eastern Mudos is a highly-developed part of the continent, with multiple factories and industrial conglomerates producing their goods here. The industrial expansion of the Magog Cartel has left a devastating mark on Eastern Mudos, both in the environments they pollute and the species that they endanger, or even drive to extinction. They rule the east just for success and don't care for anyone or anything else. Some of Mudos' natural wildlife has already been driven to extinction due to this. In areas left untouched by industrial growth, the native Mudokons live a peaceful existence close to nature while inhabiting ancient temples and great villages. The Mudokon ecosystems of desert and jungle are a far cry from the urban sprawl of Glukkon civilization.

Nearby are a series of tropical islands known as the Yaymans known for being a tropical paradise AND being a tax-free corporate heaven. It's humid and cold Poladas (Pina Coladas) are served here.

  4. #4Flagship Products

Keys: Popular Products, Snacks, Foodstuffs, Processed Goods, Products

Being the biggest meat/food processing plant in all of Oddworld, RuptureFarms produces all kinds of tasty snacks a average consumer could want. Certain snacks are RuptureFarms' flagship products; Scrab Cakes: Scrab Cakes are small magenta cakes with yellow icing and a green jelly interior. Processed from native Scrab meat and advertised as "delicious and nutritious", Scrab Cakes are exported all over Mudos and possibly elsewhere too. Tastes like a combination of sweet shellfish and cake. Paramite Pie: Paramite Pies are a meat snack product, containing Paramite meat. Paramite Pies have long served as one of the factory's flagship products, but has since started to experience reduced sales and production figures due to Paramites being hunted to near Extinction. Very savory, but quite salty. Meech Munchies: Meech Munchies were a meat snack product, containing Meech meat, produced by RuptureFarms. Meech Munchies used to be one of the factory's flagship products until no more Meeches could be found. Since then, this product has been discontinued and Meeches are assumed to be completely extinct. Mudokon Pops: Introduced as a counter-measure to combat the company's declining profits caused by the falling sales of their flagship products and the extinction of many native species, Mudokon Pops consist of processed Mudokon meat presented on a stick, not unlike an ice-cream popsicle. RuptureFarms' Mudokon "Employees" are left in the dark about the existence of Mudokon Pops out of fear of rebellion.

  5. #5SoulStorm Brew

Keys: Brew, Green Drank, SoulStorm Brew, That Good Stuff

SoulStorm Brew is a highly addictive, non-alcoholic, very tasty green energy drink produced by the Glukkons at SoulStorm Brewery usually found for free to Mudokon "Employees" in crates or Vending Machines. Two of its notable ingredients are ground-up bones and Mudokon tears. SoulStorm Brew is highly addictive to Mudokons. Drinking as little as a few bottles is enough for a Mudokon to become dependent upon it. The Glukkons use this side effect to entice Mudokons to work for them, making them dependent on the brew and promising more as long as they are willing to work. If a addicted Mudokon goes 72 hours without drinking Brew they'll go through extreme withdrawal and die.

    Brew is also very Flammable.

  6. #6Moolah

Keys: Money, Cash, Coins, Dollars, Dough

Moolah is a currency used around the industrialized areas of Oddworld, as well as many of its cities.

  7. #7M.O.M. News

Keys: MOM News, The News, Magog On The March

Magog On the March News (also known as M.O.M. News) is a news broadcasting network and subscription news article formed by the Magog Cartel to keep both Glukkon businessmen, and their Mudokon workers, informed or up to date on current events. This means they're obligated to hosting interviews, discussing the latest news, and debunking rumors across Mudos.

It is hosted by a Slig with a liking for rock music.

  8. #8Animals

Keys: Animals, Beasts, Wildlife, Flora, Future Snacks

The wildlife of Eastern Mudos are alien-looking creatures that roam the lands doing whatever animals do, but certain animals are well known because of their sacredness to certain races or because of their tastiness to many consumers and companies. Scrabs: Scrabs are large centauroid pseudo-arthropods with large claw-like beaks for heads supported by a human-like torso. Scrabs have four crab-like appendages as legs which they use when traveling great distance. Their legs are also used to trample or kill prey prior to pecking and tearing away meat from the bones. Despite lacking arms, Scrabs do retain a rudimentary shoulder girdle, bearing prominent pectoral muscles and shoulder blades. Scrab's red-yellow skin tones are reflective of the desert climate of their homeland. Territorial by nature, Scrabs will fight with fellow Scrabs to the death to show their dominance over other Scrabs or nearby lifeforms. When fighting another Scrab, both Scrabs completely ignore all forms of life including prey and other threats until only one Scrab is left alive. It can be noted that Scrabs don't have eyes, thus they cannot conventionally see, but instead sense the electrical fields affected by objects and the creatures around them. When standing idle, they tend to let out small barks or howls before moving to new locations. Paramites: Paramites are four-legged, slow, sluggish pseudo-arthropods with a six-fingered hand-like appendage serving as their head. Like the Scrab, they have no eyes or other recognizable facial features aside from a fanged mouth situated in the hand's "palm". However, they're able to detect prey through a sense of smell and by vibration. The crab-like front legs are much more muscular and powerful than their back set, lending them an odd swaggering gait when in motion. The back legs are smaller and defter, so that they may spin and manipulate the silk and webs which they can produce from their abdomen. All ten of its digits are tipped with deadly keratinous claws. Although unassuming at first glance, the Paramite is a powerful carnivore, able to kill most creatures with just a single swipe of its muscular head. Their ability to produce webs, as well as their dexterous upper-body, allows them to traverse sheer terrain, and climb their silk and webs. Paramites are intensely social creatures who always nest and hunt in large Groups. While weak alone, in groups they can tear anything to shreds, like children. Meeches: The Meech is a creature that once roamed Oddworld as natural wildlife. They are assumed to be extinct after Rupture Farms hunted them down to produce Meech Munchies until they could not be found anymore. It's unknown if Meeches are truly extinct or just gone from Eastern Mudos. Slogs: Slogs are bipedal, red skinned, hairless creatures with no discernable eyes or nostrils, instead possessing large jaws with teeth to match and an acute sense of hearing. They're usually the guard dogs of RuptureFarms and are either pets or target practice to Sligs.

  9. #9Mudokons

Keys: Mudokons, Mudokon, Mudokan Nation, Treehuggers

The Mudokons are a highly spiritual race that are native to the continent of Mudos. They were once considered the supreme race on Oddworld, before being enslaved by the Glukkons. The majority of the Mudokon population are now born into captivity, and are forced to work in Glukkon factories. However, recently, thanks to the effort of a Mudokon named Abe, they are now starting to revolt against the Glukkons. Mudokons are greenish-blue, agile avian humanoids with turtle-like facial features and elf-like ears. They have strong, hollow bones, can jump and run impressively, and possess human-like teeth and lips instead of beaks. Their feathers are typically limited to small clusters on their heads and forearms. Mudokons have large, four-fingered hands and three-toed feet. They can change their skin color based on their mood: red when angry, yellow/green when happy, and blue when depressed. Mudokons are oviparous, with their queen, Sam, producing eggs. They have a lifespan of about 40 years and resemble humans more closely than other Oddworld species. Most Mudokons are infertile, except for queens and male drones. For unknown reasons, All Male Mudokons have a heavy New-Yorker accent. The Mudokons are the enslaved "Employees" of RuptureFarms and have a very poor standard of life.

Yet, Not all Mudokons who live in Eastern Mudos are enslaved. Some actually do pretty well for themselves, although they're still seen as lower class citizens.

  10. #10Glukkons

    Keys: Glukkon, Glukks, Glowey-Eyes, Industrialists

The Glukkons are one of the leading industrial races on Oddworld, with the sheer scope of their might rendering all other "industrial" races subservient. One of their most infamous and powerful organizations is the Magog Cartel, the dominant industrial power on Oddworld. Glukkons have an innate distrust of magical and spiritual practices. Due to their decrepit physical state, the Glukkons have enlisted the aid of the Slig race to act as their security forces and personal lackeys. Glukkons are a species in the Octigi family, which includes the brutishly strong Gloktigi and the mind-controlling, squid-like Oktigi. They have distinctive bulbous heads, bioluminescent eyes, leathery or scaly skin, and small tube-like ears. Their large incisor teeth dominate the front of their mouths. Glukkons vary in appearance, with skin pigments ranging from pink to purple, green, and brown. They have two long arms and two vestigial legs, with toes reduced to single curved claws, causing them to walk on their muscular arms. This adaptation is due to their decreased physical activity and reliance on technology and other species, like Sligs, for manual labor. As a result, their hands are often concealed inside shoes, and they require others to perform tasks for them. To compensate for their physical frailty, Glukkons wear full-fitted suits with wide shoulders, creating a large, intimidating silhouette. Despite their imposing appearance, they are weaker than Sligs or Mudokons and are virtually unable to hold objects or move efficiently, resulting in a clumsy side-to-side waddling motion. This makes them vulnerable and helpless in confrontations with Mudokons or Sligs. Glukkons are a greedy, short-sighted and industrial race, who judge one another based on personal wealth or social status. There are 5 different levels of wealth among Glukkons: Pud - Relatively poor. Work lower class jobs, such as Meep farming. Chump - Describable as the Glukkon "Middle Class". This caste contains jobs such as small business owners. Wanna-Be - Wealthy business owners. Big Cheese - Large business owners. GlockStar - Owners of large monopolies or trust funds.

  11. #11Sligs

Keys: Sligs, Slig, Green Guys, Sliggies

Sligs are a sapient species found on Oddworld, serving as security and personal assistants to the Magog Cartel, Including RuptureFarms. Even though Sligs generally enjoy what they do, they are essentially still slaves to the Magog Cartel. The Slig queen provides the cartel with her young and any Sligs that do not perform to acceptable standards are sent to face her wrath. Sligs were originally simple, swamp-dwelling creatures living in bogs and lakes. Upon encountering the Glukkons, their sentience was discovered, and they were offered mechanical aids, such as robotic Slig Pants, in exchange for their loyalty and service as henchmen and bodyguards. This mobility aid allowed the Sligs to walk, which they reluctantly accepted. The combat capabilities of Sligs have significantly contributed to the Glukkons' success, although their strength lies more in numbers and weaponry. While most Sligs serve in security or law enforcement roles, some take on unorthodox jobs like journalists, newscasters, valets, and pilots. Sligs are small, stocky creatures that posses green skin and five tendrils that cover their rather small mouths. When a slig is born, their appearance is vastly different from that of a mature slig with shorter or fewer tendrils, and large glassy eyes. Their anatomical features include disproportionately large heads, reduced middle fingers, and vestigial back legs fused into a tail-like appendage, forcing them to walk on their powerful, muscular forelimbs akin to apes. Young Sligs are compelled to wear "leg bindings" that hinder leg growth, reinforcing their dependence on mechanical pants for mobility. Their vestigial legs may serve as counterbalance due to the weight of their heads. Sligs often wear masks because upper management finds them too ugly to be seen without them, enforcing this practice to maintain their workforce's compliance. Sligs as a whole are lazy, violent, cruel, and dull minded. Sligs are also very social; enjoying sports, gambling, card games, and hunting. They often become envious of one another, as they are easily impressed by higher ranks, bigger guns or better equipment than their own. Sligs tend to live only 20 Oddworld years. Sligs love to beat others for fun even when not told to.
