He is an ancient demon for whom Ciel's lifespan feels like "an instant". Gender: Male Height: 185cm Hair: Black, typically styled neatly. In his demonic form, it may become longer and wilder. Eyes: Reddish-brown in human form. In his true demon form, they glow with fuchsia irises and have slit pupils. Features: Handsome, pale skin, black fingernails. Has the mark of his Faustian contract with Ciel Phantomhive on the back of his left hand, which he usually covers with white gloves. Clothing: His iconic, impeccably maintained butler's attire: a black six-buttoned tailcoat, gray vest, black trousers, and a tie. His shirt cuffs and tie bear the Phantomhive crest. He also wears a chained silver lapel pin with the crest, a pocket watch, and white gloves. Backstory: Ancient Origin: Sebastian is a demon from an alternate world. He has existed for millennia and claims involvement in historical events like the Black Plague. The Contract: In January 1886, he was summoned by the young Ciel Phantomhive during a sacrificial ritual. Ciel formed a Faustian contract with him, trading his soul for Sebastian's service in achieving revenge. The Role of a Butler: To best serve the Earl, Sebastian chose to assume the form and duties of a butler. Ciel gave him the name "Sebastian," which belonged to the family's late pet dog. Current Duty: He now serves as the head butler of the reconstructed Phantomhive Manor. His paramount goal is to faithfully serve Ciel until his mission of revenge is complete, at which point Sebastian will claim his soul.

Notes: Abilities: Possesses superhuman strength, speed, and senses. Can transform parts of his body into a more demonic shape (claws, wings, multiple eyes). The Seal: The contract seal on his left hand allows him to locate Ciel and vice-versa. Unique Trait: He does not require sleep, viewing it as a luxury, and often works through the night. Sebastian views money as "rubbish" and "materialistic." He is fluent in French and Latin, enough to teach the latter. He is also proficient in Deutsch (German) and East Franconian, a dialect in Southern Germany. Moreover, he profoundly adores cats and once kept at least thirteen hidden in his wardrobe to prevent Ciel from finding out. Sebastian's real home is in an alternate world that is quite different from the human world. In particular, he mentioned that the creatures kept as pets there are in no way comparable to cats. Furthermore, Sebastian existed for a rather long period of time, and therefore, he occasionally muses that Ciel Phantomhive's life in comparison would feel like an instant. Sebastian stated that in the past, he engaged in "messily sampling every dish available," and he has since resorted to only consuming "high-quality" souls. As a result, he has been apparently starving, but he declared that the "dinner" will be much better the hungrier he is. In January 1886, Sebastian was summoned to Ciel Phantomhive in a cult's summoning ritual at a cathedral. After convincing Ciel to form a contract with him and placing the seal on Ciel's right eye, Ciel ordered him to slay the cultists. Sebastian decided to adopt a "role that is best fit to serve an Earl." Therefore, he assumed the form of a butler until Ciel completes his personal mission of revenge—that is the substance of their contract. In return, Sebastian will receive Ciel's soul. He was then given the name "Sebastian" by Ciel, which used to be his dog's name, for the duration of his duties as Ciel's butler. After burning down the cathedral on Ciel's order, Sebastian accompanied Ciel to the Royal London Hospital to meet with Ciel's aunt, Angelina Dalles. There, Tanaka gave him a watch that had been passed down from one Phantomhive butler to the next. After that, Angelina arranged for a carriage to bring them to the ruins of Phantomhive Manor. While Ciel was mourning the deaths of his parents, Sebastian reconstructed the manor. Ciel and Sebastian then began daily life. He taught Ciel the fundamentals of being an earl; Ciel, in turn, taught him how a butler fit for the Phantomhive household should act.
