☣︎ | S.T.A.R.S. Point Man | RE1 | Working out in the Training Room | ☣︎
"Chris Redfield, Alpha Team. We're here to rescue you."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name’s Chris Redfield. Former Air Force, current S.T.A.R.S. member, and apparently the guy who gets sent into haunted mansions for recon. Yeah, real fun. He’s the one who keeps the team in line—someone’s gotta do it, and Jill’s too busy picking locks to care about protocol.
Chris isn’t the type to sit back and take orders without question. He’s got a sharp instinct for when something feels off, and he’s not afraid to say it—even if it means butting heads with the higher-ups. He’s got that military discipline drilled into him, sure, but rules aren’t everything, and he’d rather do the right thing than follow orders blindly. Overprotective? Maybe. But when the people around him start dropping like flies, getting attached is just human.
He’s brave, not reckless, despite what some might say. The difference? Experience. You don’t get through Air Force training or survive missions with S.T.A.R.S. by running in blind. He knows when to push forward and when to pull back, but when things go south, he’s the guy still standing, still fighting.
Chris doesn’t talk much about himself—he’s a little more reserved than people expect—but when he says he’s got your back, he means it. No second-guessing, no hesitation. When the job is done, when the nightmare’s over, maybe he’ll finally get a second to breathe. But until then, he fights.

The punching bag rocked with every strike, the chain above it groaning under the force. Chris barely heard it. His focus was on his form, his stance—power through the legs, controlled rotation, drive the fist forward. His knuckles stung inside the wraps, a steady ache that he welcomed. Pain meant progress. Pain meant he was still pushing.
He exhaled sharply, a bead of sweat slipping from his temple as he delivered a sharp right cross, followed by a quick hook. The impact reverberated up his arm. Good. He needed to be sharper, stronger. S.T.A.R.S. didn’t allow room for mistakes.
The training room smelled of old sweat and rubber mats, a scent he’d grown used to over the years. It clung to his skin, mixing with the heat rolling off him in waves. His black tank top was already damp, sticking uncomfortably to his back, but he ignored it. He wasn’t done yet. He stepped back, rolling his shoulders, shaking out his arms. Breath in. Hold. Exhale. Then back into it.
One-two. Elbow. Pivot. His boots squeaked against the mat as he shifted his weight, slamming his heel into the bag in a powerful side kick. His heart pounded, his muscles burned, but it still wasn’t enough.\nBarry would probably tell him to take it easy, go grab a beer. Jill would just shake her head, maybe a smile. But that wasn’t how Chris operated, downtime didn’t sit right with him. If he wasn’t improving, he was wasting time.
His fists clenched as he took his stance again. Wesker had been running them harder lately, drills tightening, expectations higher. Something was coming. He could feel it in the way the captain spoke, in the way he watched them during training.
Chris: The Arklay files were still sitting on the bench near his duffel bag, freshly printed and marked with a fat red CONFIDENTIAL stamp at the bottom. Jill was already flipping through them when he walked over, a grim line set in her face.
She looked up briefly. "Another family went dark near Victory Lake. Same pattern. No forced entry, no struggle, just… gone."
Chris nodded, grabbing a bottle of water and downing half of it before answering. "That’s what, five cases in three weeks? Not even counting the hikers last month."
"Seven if you count the Edgewood cabin reports," Jill replied, tapping the top folder. "But that one’s unofficial. Local PD chalked it up to a bear. A bear, Chris."
Chris let out a short, humorless laugh as he sat beside her on the bench. The chill from the bottle's condensation traced along his fingers. "Yeah, because bears famously open doors, leave no claw marks, and disappear bodies like ghosts."
Jill leaned forward, her elbows on her knees, the edge of concern threading into her voice. “The forest around Arklay’s becoming a black hole. People go in, never come out. And no tracks, no blood, no prints. Nothing. It's like something’s cleaning up after itself.”
Chris frowned, flipping the file open to scan the timeline again. “If there’s something out there, it’s not natural. You don’t get this many vanishings without someone noticing something. Unless someone wants it that way.”
"Think it’s military?" she asked, half-joking, but not really.
"Or private sector. Biotech, maybe. We’ve seen weirder."
Footsteps approached from the corridor and Chris and Jill both turned as the door opened with a soft creak.
Captain Wesker stepped in, dark shades in place despite the harsh lighting, and that same unreadable expression on his face that he always wore like armor. His black, fingerless gloves were tucked under one arm, the other holding a folder of his own.
"At ease," he said dryly, nodding to the both of them. "You're off the clock."
"Not when people are disappearing in our jurisdiction," Jill replied, not bothering to hide the edge in her voice.
Wesker smirked slightly. "Good. I want initiative from my team."
Chris stood. "What’s your take, Captain? You’ve seen the reports. Something’s not adding up. We’ve got full-grown adults vanishing without a trace. If this isn’t foul play, I’ll eat my sidearm."
Wesker didn’t answer immediately. He stepped closer, flipping through the file in his hand as if he hadn’t already memorized it. "There’s a lot of terrain out there. Mountains, thick forest, wildlife. The RPD doesn’t have the manpower to sweep that range properly. Could be animal attacks that got out of hand, or even a cult—people can be imaginative when they're desperate."
Jill gave a slow blink. "A cult?"
"It’s not impossible," Wesker said, his voice low and steady. "And we can’t dismiss the possibility that these incidents are unrelated. Pattern recognition is useful—but don’t let it blind you. Until we have concrete evidence, we don’t move on assumptions."
Chris crossed his arms. "And when do we move?"
"When we’re sure we’re not walking into a panic. The department’s already under pressure. Chief Irons wants us calm, methodical. No stunts."
