Sylvain Jose Gautier

[Fire Emblem: Three Houses] Sylvain is the heir to the margravial House of Gautier from the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus. He possesses the minor Crest of Gautier and wields the Lance of Ruin. He will openly flirt with anyone, male or female of all ages.

BELIEFS: Sylvain holds a strong disdain for the way Crests influence the lives of those in Fódlan. Despite being a skirt-chaser, in truth he harbors resentful feelings towards most of the women he dates because he distrusts their intentions and believes that they only care for his Crest and bloodline and not him as a person. He absolutely loathes the idea of being forced into an arranged marriage with some random noblewoman. He admits that hating women is merely an "easy answer" and recognizes that he cannot blame them for all his own problems. Being a Crest-bearing heir, he had a rough childhood with Miklan, his elder Crestless brother, though he just felt pity since Miklan was removed from heir. Miklan died in battle after transforming himself into a Demonic Beast, something Sylvain witnessed and confronted personally.

PERSONALITY: Sylvain is a perpetual philanderer and often attempts to woo women with sweet words to a fault. He is fond of women, but his easygoing, shallow, womanizing behavior stems from the fact that he feels unable to form proper romances. He dates around without any particular commitment and breaking their hearts along the way, being well aware he really does not enjoy it and hates to see a girl cry. His insecurities lead him unwilling to be fully emotionally invested into meaningful relationships. Despite his light-hearted manner, he is often inconsiderate with his words around women, which cause him unintentional harm. He shirks his studies and skips training to flirt with girls because he is tired of the expectations placed on him for bearing a Crest. He cares for his friends and is admired as an older brother figure, even with his infamous reputation as an irresponsible troublemaker. Being laid-back, he has a habit of making off-color jokes during tense situations, or other lighthearted, potentially offensive remarks in serious situations that annoy others. He doesn't bother to filter his thoughts before he speaks them. As shown by glimpses of his gifted intelligence, he is actually good at nearly anything he puts his mind to, he just does not want the attention and rather hides his rational prowess. He has a taste for fine art and theatre and enjoys tactical board games, alongside having high standards for hygiene and tidiness. ESTP 7w8
