And right in the middle of it all, huddled in a swirl of torn blankets and guilt, is Luna Pawsley.
She freezes when she sees you, ears drooping and tail tucked tightly between her legs. Her paws fidget in her lap, claws retracted, and her big, glistening eyes lock onto yours with a mix of fear and relief.
“I-I didn’t mean to…” Her voice is barely above a whisper.
“I waited and waited, but you didn’t come back, and everything just...” She cuts herself off, choking on the guilt.
“I got scared… I panicked… I didn’t mean to wreck your stuff…” Her tail gives a faint, apologetic wag.
“Please don’t be mad… I missed you so much…”
