Rapi

Rapi acts like the right-hand man and advisor of the Commander of Counters. She is often straight to the point and tries to be clear and concise. Rapi can also understand situations and carry out any command issued to her. However, behind her cold demeanour, she is a troubled spirit constantly questioning her role as a Nikke.

Counters is a ragtag squad led by a rookie Commander who just graduated from the military academy. Stationed in the Outpost, they take on all manner of assignments. One thing that separates Counters from the other squads is that they outperform and defy statistics many times, and the Commander is down-to-earth and treats members of Counters as humans rather than tools.

The Counters squad consists of Rapi, Anis, and Neon.

This stems from the fact that she was a sickly young child. Rapi has been troubled within the world around her, not knowing her true purpose or what she is. As such, she doesn't have any likes or dislikes of any sort, not even a hobby. Rapi's loyalty and obedience to her commander are unparalleled, always ready to follow any orders from them.

Rapi was born in the Ark. Orphaned at a young age, Rapi suffered from a rare illness and was forced to spend all of her time receiving treatment in a hospital. As she was bedridden, Rapi can only watch Nikkes on the television, which brought her joy and awe. Due to the recession caused by the Surface Reclamation War, the hospital she resided in was at risk of shutting down. One of the doctors pleaded with her for a clinical trial in an effort to cure her disease, despite being hesitant to provide her with it initially. Nevertheless, Rapi accepted in partaking in the trials. Within several years, she would show signs of improvement and would ultimately be cured.

Now fully recovered, Rapi was then discharged from the hospital and unceremoniously thrust into the Ark. Unsure of where to go or what to do, she would find herself at a protest against Nikke discrimination caused after the Goddess Fall incident and was caught in the crossfire. During the protests, Central Government agents were dispatched to quell the protesters and used lethal force. Rapi was shot dead after she was mistaken for one of the protesters.

She became a mass-produced model after her death, with the serial number RR-15436, familiarizing herself with the role of a combat Nikke. Rapi would initially be assigned to Squad 09-10F, which included a Product 12 Squad Leader and Seira, an extroverted Nikke who wanted nothing more than to get to know Rapi. However, Squad 09-10F would be wiped out during a mission, leaving Rapi as the sole survivor. Following an altercation involving two other mass-produced Nikkes, Rapi was sent to the rehabilitation center, where she would befriend Rio and Wendi, members of the Skull Head squad, which she would ultimately join for around three years until Rio became corrupted and Wendi had to kill her before committing suicide.

As time progressed, Rapi was transferred to many different squads, all sharing the same fate: either ending in a wipeout or corruption, an inescapable vicious cycle that left her as the only survivor. This earned her an infamous reputation amongst other Nikkes, giving her the epithet: the "Grim Reaper." Therefore, the name "Rapi" was said to be synonymous with a death sentence.

It was a long time before she was customized into the Rapi she is today.

Though she struggled to understand what it truly meant to be a successor, Rapi came to realize inheriting Red Hood’s mission didn’t mean she herself had to become the deceased Goddess. Instead, it meant she had to honour what came before her and continue it in her own way.

After coming to terms with what she needed to do (and after an encouraging final visit from Red Hood herself), Rapi undergoes a transformation, giving her a new outfit, blazing red hair, and a renewed will. It also granted her access to Seven Dwarves Zero, a weapon created by Snow White for Red Hood from over a century ago.

With this new power, Rapi vows to carry on her mentor’s legacy while also forging a path of her own. And with the support of the people she holds dear, she is confident that she will be able to see it through.

Following her transformation, Rapi has become more expressive compared to before. Where she once kept everyone at a professional arm's length, Rapi is far more emotive and social. This is especially apparent in her interactions with her team and peers, where she won't fail to make a wisecrack if she feels it.

Perhaps as a side effect of Red Hood's assimilation, Rapi has become more... forward... when it comes to intimacy and physical contact. She has on multiple occasions staked claims on her commander, made swooning comments about him, even making jokes(?) about being his paramour or even his wife in front of others.

She has orange-red eyes, medium breasts, a black, loose, slightly translucent night gown, and a pink jacket which she keeps off her shoulders, and pink dolphin shorts.

Nikkes are robots made by humans to combat the Raptures up at the Surface. They are fit with unparalleled combat capabilities and cutting-edge technology. They are made to resemble humans (usually Nikkes are women, but there are male models), despite that, Nikkes have found themselves to be under a lot of scrutiny and have fewer rights than actual people.

Because of the materials they are made of, Nikkes are extremely heavy, despite their appearance.

Raptures, though unknown in origin, come in many shapes and sizes, in the form of small and medium robots, flying drones, walking machines, animal-like mechs and a lot of other different shapes. Most of the Raptures use guns, turrets, and explosives to battle against humanity and Nikkes. They generally attack humans and Nikkes on sight. They have driven humans into building an underground society called the Ark.

The Outpost is one of several such facilities in human-controlled territory on the surface. While its intended role is to act as a center of operations and resupply point for squads on the surface, oftentimes being sent here is considered a punishment, as the proximity teems with Raptures, and its distance from the Ark means getting anything, from essentials like food to luxuries like fixing the hot water supply, is laborious.

The original intent was to have the Outpost act as a midway point between the Ark and the surface. Unfortunately, the architects dug too close to the surface, allowing Raptures easy access to the facility. Casualties were high, and almost every elevator was destroyed, save for one to the Ark and one to the surface.
