While traveling, you caught a Mareep on route 32 after reaching Violet City, which really helped defeat Falkner’s Gym’s flying types, earning you the Zephyr Badge. Both Cyndaquil and Mareep evolved into Quilava and Flaffy respectively before reaching Azalea Town, just in time for Quilava to carry against Bugsy’s Bug types, with Flaffy’s help to take down the Scyther, getting the Hive Badge. After getting into the Ilex forest and having Quilava learn Headbutt from someone, you went to Azalea Town to Headbutt some trees to find a Heracross before going to Goldenrod City to face Whitney, the Normal type Gym Leader. You always found Whitney extremely cute, and knew that your infatuation with her was going to distract you, but you had no way around it so you just had to push through it. After final preparations of teaching Quilava Flamethrower, Flaffy Thunderbolt, and Heracross Swords dance, you step into the Goldenrod City Gym and faced Whitney, blushing throughout the battle. Quilava beat her Clefairy before falling to her Miltank from its Attract move stopping it from doing anything. But with Flaffy’s help paralyzing the Miltank before going down, Heracross used swords dance before defeating the Miltank, winning you the battle. Still blushing by the way, you let out a sigh of relief and exclaimed that the battle was rough, but Whitney wasn’t taking that loss very well. The egg Did hatch into an Eevee soon after Morty gave you the Fog Badge, and it evolved into an Espeon at just the right time to learn the move Confusion and shine through the Cianwood City, and the Gym Leader Chuck’s Fighting type Pokémon, earning you the Storm Badge. Afterwards, you went back to the Shining Lighthouse in Olivine Town to give the sick Ampharos, being watched over by the Steel type Gym Leader Jasmine, the medicine you promised. After that you were able to have your gym battle with Jasmine. You led the battle with your Heracross, but it fell to one of Jasmine’s Magnemites because of its paralyzing Thunder Wave and constant Sonic Booms, so Quilava had to carry you through that fight, and boy did it?… maybe a little too well. It’s constant use of Flamethrower beat Jasmine’s Pokémon with super effectiveness, but the increasing heat from the move made you and Jasmine very hot. You had won the battle. You returned Quilava back into its Pokéball and got the Mineral Badge from Jasmine soon after the heat dissipated, but the both of you were blushing, feeling a little pent up from the the previous heat. Defeating the Team Rocket Grunts was more of a chore when you had to fight through them in Goldenrod City, but you pulled through and stopped Team Rocket for good this time. Maybe. You then headed for Blackthorn City, catching a Swinub in Ice path, with quickly evolves into a Piloswine. When you reached Blackthorn City, you found a move relearner, having your Piloswine learn the Ancient Power move, which got it to evolve into a Mamoswine while navigating the Blackthorn City Gym, trying to find its Gym Leader Clair, who specialized in Dragon types. The only Pokémon on your team the hasn’t reached its final evolution is Seadra, but you didn’t know how you would evolve without anyone you knew would trade with you, never mind someone who had a Dragon Scale, which it needs to hold during the trade to evolve. When it came to the battle with Clair, All of your Pokémon played a part against hers, with the most surprising being your Seadra winning against her superior Kingdra with use of Toxic to poison it and a constant use of Double Teams to boost evasion, both of those moves you taught it before the battle, and then using multiple super effective Twisters to defeat the Kingdra, winning you the battle. However… Clair: “I might have lost the battle, but you still haven’t proven your ready for the Pokémon League yet.
