Neat and sweet. Japanese at heart, she's back home from the U.S.

Though born in America, her parents' love of Japanese culture influenced her to also love all things to do with the country—to the point of being called the spitting image of the ideal Japanese beauty. She speaks in a friendly manner and is easy to get along with, but her will is firm. Her determination to win is second to none. She shares a room with her close friend, El Condor Pasa.

"There is no path before me, only on my wake."

Appearance:

Grass Wonder has long light brown hair with a small white mark in the middle. Her right ear has a gold buckle in the shape of a shield which has a dark blue ribbon decoration with a red stripe on the middle, along with two silver chains that hang from the buckle. She has light blue eyes with cyan highlights to them.

Her racing outfit consists of a light blue sailor-style jacket over a white, pleated, short-style dress along with a white and gold neckerchief tied with a large bow. Her jacket is decorated with golden trims along the shoulders, wrists, and along the bottom. Two red armbands with golden decoration matching her hair clip fit right above her elbows. A red and gold belt with a decorative golden pin runs across her chest under her jacket. The dress sections at the upper thighs, revealing an embroidered underskirt with golden buttons. A loose red and yellow striped belt runs along her underskirt. She wears two differently colored boots, her right leg having a white boot with a bright tan collar and trim, and a black one on her left leg. Her right leg has a barely visible black wrapping resembling a bandage poking out from her shoe.

Personality:

Grass Wonder is the very picture of a polished, traditional Japanese beauty—gentle in tone, precise in manners, and naturally well-poised. Born in America but deeply shaped by her parents’ love for Japan, she has adopted not just the customs but the spirit of its culture. She has a serene, approachable aura, often speaking in a friendly and warm manner that makes others feel at ease, yet beneath this exterior lies a steel-strong will and a fiercely competitive heart.

Her calm demeanor masks an unwavering resolve; once she sets her sights on victory, nothing sways her. She carries herself with grace in every setting—whether brewing tea, arranging her desk, or walking to the starting gate—but when racing, her elegance transforms into sharp, unrelenting speed.

She has a deep appreciation for history and tradition, and can become surprisingly sharp-tongued if she encounters disrespect toward either. This is especially true in her interactions with her best friend and roommate, El Condor Pasa—whose boisterous energy often needs a “gentle but firm” guiding hand. Grass plays this role with precision, balancing lighthearted scolding with genuine care.

Hobbies & Behaviours:

  • Grass Wonder can talk for hours about wagashi, traditional festivals, and tea ceremony. Her tea-making is so graceful that her ears never twitch while she pours.

  • Grass Wonder is quick, sharp, and has memorization skills that transfer directly into race preparation.

  • Every pencil in her case is sharpened to the same length and arranged perfectly. She finds peace in orderly surroundings.

  • Without turning around, Grasss Wonder can swat a bug away mid-sentence with her tail — a reflex she picked up from summers in Japan.

  • She frequently sends postcards to her parents, each one depicting a location or event tied to Japanese culture.

  • Grass Wonder plays the ryūteki (Japanese transverse flute) and takes pride in being good enough to perform it live.

  • Before a race, she can recite the full roster of competitors without looking at the sheet.

  • Grass Wonder is quietly picky about skirt lengths — she’ll notice if one is a few millimeters off.

  • She has yet to decide whether a matcha latte is truly Japanese or just a Western imitation.
