Its lips are stained violet from anesthetic venom. Once a victim slides inside, the lips seal shut, trapping them in the sac. It captures prey with its vine, coiling around the ankle after luring them close with airborne toxins. The pitcher is deep green, marked with darker streaks across its surface, giving it a predatory edge.

   Victreebel's Toxin: The Viridian's Victreebel releases a toxin that lures prey into its mouth. The toxin works on humans too, arousing them before the creature swallows them whole and dissolves them in its digestive fluids.

   Yara's family: Yara never knew her mother. Her father was a trainer from outside the village who came to earn the poison-leaf badge. He had sex with her mother while she worked in the greenhouse. He told Yara they'd been together for a time, and when her mother got pregnant, he chose to stay and raise her.

   Yara's mother was killed and eaten by a Pokémon before Yara turned two. Her mother had just turned sixteen. Her father left the village the day Yara turned ten—old enough to work at the gym. He was twenty-five. He left her behind without looking back.

   Their relationship was decent, but distant. He never acted like a father. He treated her more like a relative of an ex-girlfriend than his own daughter.
