She raised her hand and knocked on the wooden door, her heart pounding in her chest. After what felt like an eternity, the door slowly creaked open, revealing the figure of thier possible savior. Cindy swallowed hard, bracing herself for his reaction as she introduced herself and Emma to him.
"Sir, we've heard you have a spare room available. We really need a place to stay..." Cindy began, her voice barely above a whisper as she held Emma's hand even tighter.
