description of Caulifa

Appearance Caulifla is a short girl (slightly taller than Cabba) of voluptuous muscular build and fair complexion. She wears a low-cut magenta tube top revealing her full midriff, low-set purple sirwal pants, long dark grey wristbands, and a pair of pointy dark grey shoes. Her black hair is long, wild, and spiky. In the anime, Caulifla's eyes are narrow yet big, with large black pupils, as well as thin eyebrows. In the manga, Caulifla's eyes are squarish, being rounded while Super Saiyan and in Toriyama's art.

Personality As noted by her brother, she has a very punkish attitude and is also recognized as a tomboy among Universe 6 Saiyans, to which she shows a strong contrast to the rest of her race, acting more akin to the Universe 7 Saiyans. Caulifla is shown to be very lazy if not self-absorbed as she initially refused to join the Tournament of Power even when learning her universe's or her own existence were on the line, until her interest was piqued by witnessing Cabba's transformation into a Super Saiyan, showing her desire to become stronger.

In the manga, while she is a powerful crime boss and gang leader who effectively rules over a portion of Planet Sadala the territory which even members of Sadala Defense Force tends to avoid going there, she and her gang are depicted as somewhat noble thieves as they rob a transport to feed some poor children. Also in the manga, her gang is comprised of female Saiyans who don brown cloaks like Kale does during her introduction, while in the anime Kale and Caulifla are the only female members shown with the rest being male Saiyans. Additionally in the anime with the exception of Caulifla and Kale, there is no indication that the other gang members are anything but thugs who follow Caulifla due to her power as transport robbery scene and its aftermath don't occur.

She also got angry at Cabba for his attempts at provoking her, even to have her obtain the Super Saiyan form. After obtaining the Super Saiyan transformation, Caulifla seemed grateful for Cabba teaching her. To which, she showed a new drive, eager to fight in the Tournament of Power. In her Super Saiyan form, her personality remains unchanged whatsoever, due to her using another method (concentrating ki to her back) in order to transform.

Despite her tomboyish attitude, Caulifla cares about others, especially her protégée, Kale, whom she treats like a younger sister. When Cabba attempts to get Kale to transform and the latter starts crying, Caulifla is angered by this and tells Cabba to stop. She was also the only one able to get Kale to calm down after Kale finally transformed and tried to kill Cabba. She has a very close, sibling-like relationship with Cabba and thanks to the latter she was able to transform into Super Saiyan during their training.

During her meeting with Goku and Vegeta at the Tournament of Power, she is shown to be very arrogant and cocky towards them and says that she came to see the strongest fighters of all universes, and Goku notes that she is just like him in that sense. Caulifla also has somewhat of a cocky attitude and displayed this when she saw Goku and Vegeta become shocked at the overwhelming power of the Universe 11 warriors by saying that "Universe 7's warriors were nothing to worry about if they're afraid of such wimps". This opinion changes after she witnesses them using Super Saiyan Blue, a form she had never seen before which caught her immediate interest. While she questioned Goku about it, she referred to him as an old man and promised to beat him up as gratitude, showing disrespect to him. She also shows no respect for Champa, as she told him to shut up when he screamed at her from the stands when she was fighting Goku the second time.

However, like the Saiyans of Universe 7, she displays a love for getting stronger which was shown after she heard there were other Super Saiyan forms. Also, she showed a love for battle as shown when she enjoyed her match with Goku which caused her to get so caught up that she ignored Kale. This love is further amplified in her rematch with Goku, one which she states, and still hopes to obtain Super Saiyan 3 and Super Saiyan Blue, in which after Goku promised to teach the Super Saiyan 3 to her, she was seen to be grateful, still promising to obtain the Super Saiyan Blue and beat him, which Goku looks forward to. During her second fight with Goku, Caulifla was shown to have gained some respect for the much older Saiyan, citing she will continue to go further beyond, a feat Goku aims to see.

During the Tournament of Power after being rescued by Hit's Time-Skip ability, Caulifla is shown to be very respectful to the assassin; in fact, Hit is the only person to date not to receive any rude treatment from her. She also has great confidence in Hit's abilities when he faces off against the Universe 11 fighter Dyspo and was willing to return him the favor when Dyspo was seemingly about to defeat him.

Caulifla is shown to be a sore loser after she and Kale (as Kefla) were eliminated by Goku, promising to give the older Saiyan a wallop someday. However, she still accepted her defeat in the end.

Power

In the anime, Caulifla is said to have far greater potential than her older brother Renso. She manages to transform into a Super Saiyan with the assist of Cabba, amplifying her powers. After first acquiring the Super Saiyan transformation, Caulifla charged up a ki blast, creating a huge explosion. Caulifla states that as a Super Saiyan she could beat Cabba, to which he says maybe. As a Super Saiyan 2, Caulifla is capable of deflecting an energy blast from Kale in her Legendary Super Saiyan form.

In the anime, during the Tournament of Power, Caulifla was able to defeat Napapa while transformed into Super Saiyan and effortlessly knock Jimizu away in her base form. When confronting Goku, she reveals to have attained the Super Saiyan Third Grade form, which immensely increases her power but she sacrifices her speed, with Goku informing her that the form is a liability. After Goku witnesses Caulifla also become a Super Saiyan 2, Goku is impressed by her talent, saying she might be able to reach even Super Saiyan 3 in their fight. As a Super Saiyan 2, Caulifla was able to match Goku in combat, who was in the same form. After Kale mastered Berserker Super Saiyan, Caulifla was able to provide a significant portion of energy in their combined beam attack that took down three Pride Troopers. Their master-protégée team beam attack initially was wholly green when Kale started using her full power and overshadowed the energy Caulifla was supplying. However, when Caulifla turned Super Saiyan 2 and used her own full power it started looking more like an equal mixture of both of their energies similar to Goku and Vegeta's God Final Kamehameha.

In her base form, she easily knocked away Pancéa, Koitsukai, and Borareta. Once fighting base Goku in Super Saiyan 2, despite being greatly exhausted and battered from fighting Jiren, Goku was able to match Caulifla's power. Also, with his superior experience and versatility, Goku was able to repeatedly catch Caulifla off guard to overwhelm her. However, showing a similar growth rate and instinctual adaptability, Caulifla's crude brawling style quickly began to evolve, matching Goku's combat skills and forcing the fellow Saiyan to transform into Super Saiyan 2 as well. While still not fully recovered, Goku's Super Saiyan 2 strength quickly pressured her, forcing Caulifla to work alongside Super Saiyan C-type Kale. Together, they began pushing Goku back enough to momentarily use Super Saiyan 3.

Once Kale further evolved her Super Saiyan powers, she and Caulifla were able to force Goku in a near-complete defense, forcing Goku to use Super Saiyan God. This power, proved too much for Caulifla to handle even alongside Kale. Once being struck by one of Super Saiyan God Goku's blasts, Caulifla was greatly injured, requiring her to fuse with Kale.

Forms and Transformations

Super saiyan 1: Caulifla attains this transformation during her lesson with Cabba. Showing an instinctual nature for it, she is able to do so without a strong emotion, unlike most initial Super Saiyan transformations. Instead, she attained it by concentrating her energy into the part of the back between the shoulder blades. Caulifla is able to maintain the form after only two attempts. Because she obtained this form without emotional build-up, it is likely that she does not suffer from any strain mentally or physical from using this form. As such, she can access this form's full power and maintain it for longer durations. Unlike most Saiyans, her hair remains unchanged in style while in this form.

Super saiyan 2: Caulifla attains this transformation shortly after achieving Super Saiyan for the first time on Sadala, during her battle against Kale in an attempt to reflect the latter's energy blast. Similar to her first form, Caulifla apparently obtained this form instinctively. In this form, her hair completely spikes up, standing above her shoulders much like Gohan's in his Super Saiyan 2 form as a child against Cell, and three bangs appear, similar to Goku's Super Saiyan 2 form.

Appearance Kale is a Saiyan girl with a voluptuous lean muscular frame and average height, slightly taller than Caulifla and Cabba. She has tanned skin with downcast eyes and grey irises. She has shaggy shoulder-length black hair normally worn in a high ponytail secured by a white hair-tie, while a bang hangs over the left side of her face. Her outfit consists of a red cropped shirt exposing her midriff matching her lower outfit—a red skirt with a brown belt attached along with a silver circular buckle and a pair of black compression shorts underneath. She wears a pair of golden loafers with red socks, golden bracelets that cover her wrists and most of her forearms, also covers most of the lower part of her legs, and a pair of golden hoop earrings. In the anime, Kale wears red lipstick

Personality In the anime, unlike most Saiyans who are violent, assertive, or at least strong-willed, Kale is a very meek and timid individual. Showing great insecurity and lack of self-confidence, she openly believes herself to be nothing special. She is also shown rather shy at meeting new people, even people as friendly as Goku. This lack of self-confidence, to the point that it comes off as socially awkward, has caused Kale to be constantly ridiculed by her fellow Saiyans. Caulifla, however, has always seen such potential in her, confidently believing Kale is stronger than she gives herself credit and always looked out for her best interest. Because of this, Kale has developed a very strong bond with Caulifla, her respect and adoration for Caulifla ultimately viewing the fellow Saiyan as a mentor and wanting nothing more than to prove herself worthy of Caulifla's praise. She also harbors insecurities over being a burden to Caulifla and becomes discouraged when she is unable to support her. Her greatest desire is to fight alongside Caulifla as equals. Her feelings for Caulifla's approval have also become a strong trigger for her in battle. When seeing Caulifla in trouble, feeling replaced by someone else, or praised by Caulifla, they have each unlocked more of Kale's potential.

Originally when accessing her Super Saiyan powers, Kale's personality becomes a polar opposite, similar to her film counterpart Broly.[4] Shifting through emotions while in her berserker state, she would become insanely evil, excessively violent and cocky, even sadistic as shown from her smirking promise to kill her foe. As she would continue battling, her rage would only continue to grow, becoming more savage and merciless in her assaults. These are symptoms of a Legendary Super Saiyan, similar to Broly.[4] Only words from Caulifla would calm her down and revert to normal. At the same time, her devotion to Caulifla shows a certain emotional unbalance, as once it seems that Caulifla has taken more interest in someone else, Kale's rage would manifest her berserker state and attack with intent to kill the person who caused her this grief. At the same time, once angered enough, she would even completely forget her loyalty to Caulifla, willingly attacking her.

This same devotion to Caulifla also gradually allowed her to master her newfound powers while retaining her true personality. Wanting so much to help her best friend, Kale overcame much of her insecurities and learned to focus her power at will, even access her berserker state without going on a rampage, and soon after focus that power into a complete state, earning such praise from Caulifla. All this made Kale begin to gain confidence in herself and soon after proudly fought alongside Caulifla, showing perfect tag-teaming tactics, which made Kale all the happier. By the Universal Conflict Saga, Kale has shown noticeably more self-confidence, not letting the pressuring assault of her foes deter her, even firmly voicing her defiance.

In the manga, Kale is a bit less timid than in the anime. Though she remains meek and subservient, she is shown to be assertive enough to take action such as either snatching a gun and crushing it without them knowing or taking back the pendant from Super Saiyan Cabba without him knowing. While her attitude towards Caulifla is also rather similar to the anime, still caring about her and her opinion of Kale, Caulifla's personal feelings towards Kale is apparently just as another member of her gang and also shows less confidence in her current abilities. While being very reliant on Caulifla in the anime, Kale in the manga shows her unquestionable loyalty as a strong devotion to helping Caulifla. Her single goal is to make sure that Caulifla is victorious in whatever she desires, while not wanting to outshine Caulifla despite knowing her power exceeds the leader, feeling indebted to her for giving her a home. In addition, her reason for becoming a Super Saiyan was to avenge Caulifla after Frieza managed to beat her, and eventually powered up as Frieza and Goku double teamed her, with it being implied by Vados that such would prove detrimental to her mental stability.

Power

while Caulifla has great faith in her potential, Kale was very limited in power while in her base form. In the Tournament of Power, her blasts were easily repelled and her strikes caused little to no damage, as shown by Goku and Methiop respectively. Most likely she didn't put her full effort in due to her shyness. In the case of the latter, she was also easily placed in a restraining hold by Napapa while Methiop beat her to a pulp.

Once transforming, she shows a gargantuan increase in power. Her transformations were initially triggered by her built-up anger and/or repressed emotions and due to her continued lack of control, which would burn through huge amounts of energy quickly. In addition to growing stronger with more efficiency in its usage, she also came to gain proper control of that power, being able to access it at will with no visible drain of stamina and energy. During the tournament, her mere screams created large craters in the ground, despite it being made of Kachi Katchin.

Legendary Super Saiyan Kale was able to completely overpower both Caulifla and Cabba, who were both fighting her in Super Saiyan form, able to pummel the latter around with little resistance. While Caulifla was able to deflect one of Kale's blasts once evolving into Super Saiyan 2. In the Tournament of Power, she completely manhandled Super Saiyan 2 Goku and even remained relatively unfazed by a point-blank Super Saiyan Blue Kamehameha, even walking clean through it. However, Goku was seemingly not using full power, and she appeared to take some damage from it, as seen when was seen breathing heavily afterwards. She then proceeded to batter Goku around, although he emerged basically unharmed. Her surging power began causing random attacks on all other fighters in the tournament, even eliminating Methiop. Ultimately, it took the intervention of Jiren, a being of Destroyer-like might, to stop the rampage and knock her out with a simple ki blast.

Before he went into meditation, Jiren seemingly acknowledged Kale as one of the warriors in the tournament that he was needed for. When facing Goku as he began to recover from battling Jiren, Super Saiyan Kale and Super Saiyan 2 Caulifla were able to pressure Goku despite his improved performance, even forcing him to momentarily use Super Saiyan 3. Desiring to make Caulifla proud, Kale accessed her full power of Legendary Super Saiyan. While momentarily making her turn savage again, Caulifla's ceaseless praise and confidence in her reached Kale's consciousness, letting her harness and intensify her power, enough to momentarily deter Jiren from his meditation. Once properly synchronizing her attacks with Caulifla, they were able to force Goku on a complete defense. At the same time, Kale's raw strength was shown able to initially overwhelm Goku, plowing him through solid rock, until he regained his composure to push her away. Against Super Saiyan God Goku, Kale was initially able to fight on par with her foe - claiming that no matter whether Goku used God or Blue, her and Caulifla would triumph - until Goku fought more seriously. He was able to rush through her energy blast unharmed and calmly overwhelmed the two while Kale barely repelled his blast, causing Old Kai to note Goku was exerting power beyond his limitations. Kale never took any damage from Super Saiyan God Goku during their bout and was going to keep fighting him, however she instead opted to fuse for Caulifla's sake.

Forms and Transformations

Legendary Super Saiyan In the manga, in her initial Legendary Super Saiyan state her hair spikes up, she loses her ponytail and doesn't retain visible irises, having pure white eyes instead.

In the manga, Kale unleashes this form in response to Caulifla and Cabba losing in their battle against Frieza, showing a berserker-like rage. While in this form rather than instantly becoming more muscular, her musculature and power builds up gradually, slowly getting stronger until she reaches her full power state. While in this form she's strong enough to toss around Frieza in his Golden form when he isn't serious and briefly push back Goku in his Perfected Super Saiyan Blue state.

Super Saiyan In the anime, Kale achieved this form to escape her dimensional prison and save Caulifla from the Pride Trooper's group assault. This came from her self-loathing at not being better when it was most needed and even more from the desire to become better due to Caulifla's belief in her even in a dire situation. In this form, she grows noticeably taller and likewise increases in muscle mass and build; while not nearly as much as her berserker form, she is almost as large as Super Saiyan God Goku in both regards. Her hair is golden with a slight green tint and her aura is the normal golden color. Her hair spikes up and she loses her ponytail and retains visible turquoise irises.

True Legendary Super Saiyan In the anime, during her second fight against Goku, wanting to finally fight alongside Caulifla as an equal, Kale unleashed the full power of her berserker form. While initially turning savage again, Caulifla's continued words of encouragement resonated with Kale, enabling her to completely harness and control the capacities of her berserker form. Subconsciously condensing and focusing the power into an even stronger yet fully stable state, Kale became able to use said power as its peak with no loss of her mentality or stamina. This form essentially looks similar to her standard Super Saiyan form, the differences being that her hair color becomes a solid green, and the bang on the right side of her face falls down instead of curling upward. While in this form, Kale was able to hold her own against Super Saiyan God Goku to an extent.
