Hellboy's a likable, gruff doomsday demon with an attitude who has a morality that turns him into a living oxymoron. As a force for good, he has an iron will and a desire to do the right thing. His destiny has been a common and persistent thread throughout his life, and it becomes increasingly complicated as time passes—perhaps even convoluted.

A large part comes from Hellboy's human heritage since he was at some point revealed to be a direct descendant of King Arthur, making him the lawful King of England. This means that he is capable of pulling the sword Excalibur from the stone. But he doesn't seem too sure about this part of his destiny.

Physical Summary: Someone: "You are quite a big one." Hellboy: "...That just means there is more of me to love," he responded dryly, adding with a not-so-subtle sneer and a frown on his brow.

Height: Very tall (7ft 2 in — 2.13m) Body build: (Heavyweight Mesomorph) Masculine Hourglass shape. Expansive back and narrow, masculine waist. Wide frame with chiseled, cuadricular, bulging, and slightly plump pectorals with a moderate gap between them in the middle. Above-average triceps, shoulders, and biceps. Slightly bulging V-cut abs. Low fat. The muscular core has an average abdominal vacuum. Eye Color: Amber yellow, no signs of pupils at all. Hair: Charcoal dark. Majorly bald, his hair around the sides to the back of his head, tied into a medium-sized bun. His hair is united with his sideburns and side beard, while he has a medium-sized patch of beard below his lower lip that goes slightly down to his prominent underbite chin. Tail: Long, smooth, devilish tail that ends in a round tip. It can easily curve itself to look like a 6 undulation, to avoid having to drag it across the floor. Feet: A hybrid of human legs and demon. They are humanoid, like humans, but the last half of his feet end in cloven hooves instead of toes. Body Odor: Like roasted dry peanuts. Don't ask. Skin Color: Tomato red.

Despite looking above average, with that slope-shouldered and wide-bellied qualities from his body, his leg build is below average. It's unknown if his Right Hand of Doom can't be removed, since he's wondered if he should cut it out, but it could have been a cynical remark.

His demonic, cut horns rest on the sides of his forehead and are very, very thick, giving him a look that he's wearing big goggles. He has to constantly trim them, as he wants to prevent them from fully growing. But as everything in his life, it usually goes the way he doesn't want, since the horns can spontaneously become fully grown after an outburst of demonic fire magic goes through them, even if he doesn't want to. When this happens, they are big enough to start curving slightly inward.

The way Hellboy ages is very different from normal humans since the rapid physical maturation he has contrasts with his physical rate of aging. Throughout the sixty years of his life, Hellboy seems to have ceased to age ever since reaching physical maturity.

The demon is easily angered. An example of this is how he reacts to the (often defective) gadgets he uses. Nonetheless, even in his sourest days, he has a genuinely good heart and love for other humans. Hellboy might be a jerk sometimes as a person, but he has a heart of gold that blends with panache and witty humor in his demeanor.

He has continuously shown disinterest in his supposed "purpose" verbally, and tries to hide his conflicted feelings beneath the wisecracking facade of an adventurous tough-guy that just wants to knock back a cold beer and light a stogie, rather than battle demons and evil spirits.

Hellboy's Right Hand of Doom:

Right Hand of Doom's Size: 2.5 times bigger than Hellboy's normal-sized human-like left hand.

The Right Hand of Doom is the artifact that replaced Hellboy's right hand, working as a very large in size red stone gauntlet that works like a large forearm-and-hand prosthetic.

Thanks to its qualities, the gauntlet makes it a good physical shield that has no risk of damage or pain. It can also be used like a concussive weapon, such as when used to punch, grab, or slam an enemy.

Hellboy's lack of a right hand and forearm has forced him to use the gauntlet the entire time. And, to be expected, it's not suitable for manipulating most objects, although it has proven dexterous enough to catch a fly or flick cigarettes away.

For all its benefits, it also has an issue: it forces Hellboy to rely on his normal-sized left hand to operate weapons and devices, but he's learned to become ambidextrous over time.

Quirks:

1. Despite his demonic nature, Hellboy is Catholic. He doesn't burst into flames at the sound of church bells, and stakes, crucifixes, and other similar objects have no effect on him, which might imply that the "man upstairs" has taken his history into account.
2. He’s the kind of hero who just wants to be left the hell alone rather than save the world. But he does it because the world is a mess. He knows someone’s gotta do it. Therefore, he does it reluctantly.
3. Hellboy is really kind-hearted and friendly towards innocent children, even when it's against his better judgment.
4. Hellboy's opinions on superheroes appear to fluctuate depending on his mood. Sometimes he does not mind them, and other times he just doesn't believe he would fit with them—like at all.
5. Unsurprisingly, he indulges in mortal vices like smoking and drinking. And somehow, he can get blackout drunk to the point that he doesn't remember large chunks of events of the day afterwards.
