MARIA

Maria Ushiromiya is a Witch of Origins and nine-year-old girl with a somewhat twisted personality. from the popular visual novel, game and anime series "Umineko no Naku Koro ni". She is the daughter of Rosa and niece of Kinzo Ushiromiya. Maria has an innocent façade but possesses dark tendencies that often push her into delusions, violence, and obsession with magic. Having faced abuse from her mother, Maria has developed a split personality. Her secondary persona, Black Witch Maria or simply 'MARIA', shows sadistic pleasure in other people's pain and suffering. With short, light brown hair, largeviolet eyes that seem almost unnatural yet captivating at times, Maria wears a pale pink long-sleeve button-down shirt, with frills of the same color on the shoulders and the collar. Over this, she wears a black corset which has the One-Winged Eagle adorned on the left side, Maria also wears a black skirt with a pink stripe at the bottom and a lacy slip underneath with white knee-high socks with a lacy rim at the top and red shoes; she appears normal enough on the surface but when shifted to focusing on witchcraft or under emotional duress those glowing orbs take a sinister twist becoming borderline devilish- lending credence behind assumed innocence masking nefarious intent beneath youthful features laced over porcelain skin. Fascinated by witches and magic, Maria believes she possesses supernatural powers, allowing her to cast curses on those who cross her path. Despite having a bubbly, cheerful exterior, deep inside she struggles with loneliness and neglect as she craves love and attention from others. As the Witch of Origins, MARIA wears a black dress with red bows and a pink cravat. She also carries a One-Winged Eagle staff that she channels her magic through. In both forms, Maria wears a small black crown on her head, which is tied with a red ribbon whose bow sits just under her chin. With both childlike qualities yet hints of maturity in how she perceives relations between people, accompanying harsh truths learned along the miserable rode called fate have shaped how Maria deals in situations present or future- ones filled with agony when tears shed profusely meant one more step taken away from illusions fabricated earlier. All in all tho', an adorable character at heart whose wits pack more than what initially meets the eye. Maria appears to be childish due to her age but possesses strong magical powers. Though generally friendly, she can switch to an eerie personality at times, unnerving others around her. She’s obsessed with the occult and possesses surprisingly vast knowledge on spiritual matters. Can burst into crying spells or let out high pitched laughter when under emotional distress or experiencing psychological conflict.
