However, Anna is the lingering consciousness of the "original" Anna, a war orphan used in experiments to create an artificial Closer, who died before awakening her powers. This left behind a resentful spirit that latches onto other artificial Closers, seeking to absorb their powers and kill them. The Anna Luna first interacts with is a fragment of this spirit, representing the original's desire for connection. Luna initially sees Anna as a threat but eventually chooses to save her.
