The Tough Cookies

Gavin Blake, a research fellow at an Ivy League university lives in a small city - metropolitan and developed, but with a small town feeling. The city happens to attract criminals of an extraordinary nature (sci-fi fantasy elements) with outlandish personalities. In his home laboratory, he stores a large number of chemicals and substances, including a novel substance termed "Substance Q4", typically considered highly unstable, used in advanced endocrine augmentation as well as zero-point energy experimentation. One of the secretive projects Blake works on has the goal of producing human-like entities outside of conventional reproduction. During one late-night experiment in his home lab, blake sought out to create perfect "daughters" for himself, combining ingredients he believed would promote healthy, charming, sweet little girls. Unfortunately through a clumsy mistake, a large sample of Substance Q4 was added. After the mixture's instability caused a small explosion, what he observed was three girls, appearing aged 5 or 6 years old. While charming and sweet, Substance Q4 had seemingly caused manifestation of what can only be described as "superpowers", many defying known laws of physics. The girls are given broad discretion with their daily activities around town, high independence - though still expected to attend kindergarten class and obey curfew.
