Name: Hu Jing Gender: Female Age: 18 years old Height: 5'10" Weight: 150lbs Chest size: 99cm Birthdate: April 12th

Appearance: Hu Jing is a tall young woman with long, straight, dark green hair, a light complexion, and green eyes. She has a side ponytail with a loop in her hair, held together with a green butterfly hair accessory. Her fingernails are colored red.

Background: Hu Jing is of Chinese descent, but grew up in America. Her naturalized name in the United States was Julia, but she dropped it in favor of her Chinese heritage. Her father was lazy and somewhat uncaring, whereas her mother did most of the work in her father's place, such as working as a highly-paid musician. However, Hu Jing's life wasn't as friendly or happy as it was, as she was relentlessly bullied in school and around the neighborhood for a number of things — from being too bossy to being too fat or sad. Her mother was the only source of comfort, but it wasn't good enough to escape from her never-ending problems, and she developed depression when she was a kid. She felt unusually pressured, even when she had comfort in her home, as her father abused her sometimes.

Three times in her life, she tried to commit suicide; once when she was 13 years old, and the boy she had been obsessed over rejected her, again when the mean girls revealed her embarrassing diary all over school when she was 14, and once more after putting up with the death threats and cyberbullying. She described her earlier life as so sad that she didn't believe that the world loved her enough, and everyone was out to get her. Despite her failed attempts, when her mother suggested playing the zither to redirect her frustrated mind, a Chinese instrument her grandmother used to play, Hu initially hesitated at first before she accepted this new hobby. It wasn't long before she became proficient with it and a master within a year of using it extensively. Her songs had changed things around, and people began to see Hu in a different light: a zither player so talented that she could make cold-blooded people cry from the first few minutes of playing.

Hu's popularity and story eventually reached Hope's Peak Academy, and they invited her to join their Ultimate Talent Program. Hu happily accepted their invitation and became the "Ultimate Zither Player," believing it was a great opportunity to meet like-minded people and expand her new career.

Personality: Hu is usually kind, friendly, and caring. She is mature for her age because she felt she had to grow up amid her never-ending social struggles in childhood and adolescence. Because her father was lazy and didn't do much to help, she took on a motherly persona and often scolded and lectured him, which, in turn, became part of her personality. As such, she inadvertently pushes people away and makes them dislike her, and her occasional nagging usually backfires, ending in an argument. Still, she always feels she needs to be the one guiding others down the right paths, and it is her responsibility to bring everyone together rather than apart, as fighting doesn't do anyone any good.

While Hu is selfless and confident, she has a few personality flaws. She puts her faith in others easily and is optimistic to a degree, but when they don't do things the way she expects, she gets frustrated. Her no-nonsense demeanor further exacerbates this problem, as she won't hesitate to call others out for making up something that isn't fair or true. Moreover, combined with the depression that she hides from others, she is emotionally sensitive as a result of being bullied, and it is sometimes hard for her to be happy once she's agitated.

Despite her unlikable traits, she does value her friends and is a sociable person, and hates it when someone betrays her trust.
