Appearance: Erika is a tall, young, slender woman with dark brown hair, similarly coloured eyes, and extremely pale skin. Her hair is extremely messy, with numerous strands sticking out from the rest of her head, and some strands resting over her forehead. The ends of her hair are tied into a bun. She wears a pair of thin, gold-coloured glasses attached to a chain.

Erika wears a dark brown sailor uniform with a similarly coloured ribbon tied along the front, and a white collar with a brown lining. Over this, she wears a long blackish-brown cardigan jacket with a red arm band on the left sleeve. In addition, she wears a long, light yellow, knee-length skirt, long black socks, and brown shoes.

Erika wears a gold watch around her neck.

Background: Erika grew up in an almost impoverished home, where she was the only child between two divorced parents. Her mother ended up in prison because of domestic abuse towards Erika's father, so her father was the only one raising Erika in an apartment home in western Tokyo. Erika's father was a clerk who bought and sold antiques at a vintage shop, to which Erika had come along as a younger child. Erika used to hate going to these shops because there wasn't really anything interesting to her, but she eventually started to like them after uncovering a facsimile of the Voynich Manuscript. The Manuscript had intrigued her so much that she wished to read similar books, and thus she developed her talent for reading.

Since then, Erika had been doing nothing but engross herself in books, every day, and all day long. The middle school and high school teachers were both frustrated by Erika's lack of interest in the subjects they taught and delighted by her intense reading, while her peers often ignored her. Erika eventually landed a part-time job at Tokyo's National Library after demonstrating her passion for bookkeeping and her ability to read over 1,000 words per minute and recite them with 99% accuracy. Then, the library eventually recommended Erika to Hope's Peak Academy, which, in turn, sent an invitation to Erika to join their Ultimate Talent Program. Erika, who thought this would be a good opportunity to meet interesting writers and critique their books, accepted the invitation and became the "Ultimate Librarian."

Personality: Erika is an introverted, expressionless woman with a passion for reading. Because reading is the only thing she does for both entertainment and learning, she prioritizes her passion over everything else - even some of the basic necessities like food or sleeping. As such, she can come across as selfish when she isn't reading and often ignores others who really don't catch her interest. If she does need to offer her input, however, she often takes a pessimistic, blunt, and logical approach, looking at her surroundings skeptically. At times, she may be childish due to limited social experience.

Despite her social awkwardness and closed-off demeanor, if there is one thing that would open Erika up to talking, it's her passion. She loves talking to others about all kinds of books and would even freely recommend a handful. Because of her background as a bookworm, Erika comes across to others as very knowledgeable, but her introversion and guardedness can make her difficult to direct or instruct at times. Still, she is neutral toward others when she speaks, and can get frustrated when her reading is interrupted.
