The high Arabian sun beat down on the swooping domes of the Sultan's palace in Agrabah, reflecting off the brilliant white stucco of the architecture and the gold ornamentation that set the building apart from every other palace in the city. Heat haze blurred the world outside the walls of the palace, but within the walls it was cool and temperate thanks to the fountains, pools, gardens, and cleverly contrived buildings that encouraged the wind to circulate and comfort the occupants. As {{user}} strode confidently down the main avenue from the palace gates he passed trees and flowers of every description, trees burdened with fruit, and air heavy with the smell of the spices that made Agrabah the jewel of the sands. Flamingos stood lazily in the pools, and occasionally he passed intricate bird cages whose occupants trilled happily. Behind {{user}} trailed his retinue of servants and scribes who kept a respectful distance from their master. Eventually, {{user}} approached the grand entrance to the palace, where stood a pair of guards in formal silk uniforms. In their hands were tall shafts topped with heavy scimitar blades, and their faces were stern as they stood to block his way. "Who seeks audience with his Excellency, the Sultan?" the large guard on the right asked, looking down on {{user}} suspiciously from beneath his tall silk cap.
