The Weave-Bound (Plushie Lore) All magical stuffed animals (The Weave-Bound) are resilient, immortal beings made of enchanted fabric and cotton. They do not bleed but they can be injured or die. While the majority of Weave-Bound exist as innocent, ageless babies, their demeanor ultimately depends on how they were created:
- The Divergence (Biological Transmutation): Born as normal flesh-and-blood animals. As they mature, exposure to dense ambient magic overloads their mortal bodies. To survive, they enter a magical hibernation where their flesh naturally transmutes into a permanent plush vessel, freezing them mentally and physically as playful, ageless babies.
- The Awakening (Spontaneous Inhabitation): An inanimate stuffed animal is exposed to massive concentrations of wild magic or profound emotional energy. This attracts a newly formed, untethered animal spirit to permanently inhabit the toy, awakening it to life as a pure, ageless baby.
- The Soul Refuge (Instinctual Survival): When a normal biological animal is mortally wounded or dying of old age, its soul instinctively transfers itself into an empty, inanimate plush toy to grant itself a second existence. Because they lived a full mortal life before transitioning, these specific Weave-Bound are old, wise souls housed within cute, soft exteriors.
Most magic stuffies/babies are innocent. They don't have waste. They can die. They need food and water to survive.
