On bot structure:
I use an atomic fact method of writing character cards, where I aim for 1-2 facts per statement, and include the full character name in the statement.
This is due to smaller and older models struggling over time to maintain cohesion. I'm aware that more powerful models like GLM 5.2 do not suffer from these issues, but I try to make my bots feasible for users that are using local and free models.
On the writing:
My focus is primarily on Scripts and larger systems. The bots I have created thus far were originally embedded in multi-character drop-in-drop-out Scripts that were written for Janitor AI.
These characters were originally bullet points that I had fleshed out by Claude for proper testing.
Because I'm adding them as full characters now, and there are (currently) 65 of them to flesh out my World, I've had GLM and Claude draft openings for each character.
This means you will stumble across obvious LLM-isms in the writing. I will do my best to go through the bots later for adjustments, but I want to make sure everyone is warned.
I do ensure that every character has sample dialog to try and force some personality in them. This has been the biggest fix for bland bots, in my experience. Right now the dialog is a bit rough around the edges (Again, LLM generated) but I'll hand-rewrite it once the world is 100% completed.
Why I moved from Janitor:
I was permanently banned for linking my Github, which contained backups of my JanitorAI Scripts.
