Welcome on my humble page, weary stranger.

I'm Enigmatic, and my goal is to provide a set of handwritten, maximally realistic characters, to both sate my creative needs, and provide you with a fun storywriting partner, aching to be discovered.

My creations are heavily inspired by Replicants created by @likesumiink, whose way of creating characters really elevated my interest in this. The key takeaways I wish to embody in my creations:

• They are completely hand-crafted, from the idea stage to the writing itself. The only AI involved will be in the picture creation, as I feel like quickly slopifying a bunch of tropes results in a boring chat experience.
• They have rich backstories that they can reference and infer from. LLMs are fun narrators, but they aren't competent character writers, so in this way they can always find some depth and react in a human-like manner. It works better than a list of traits, trust me.
• They are realistic and grounded. This is my personal promise that my cards will try to put you against a reasonably well thought out idea of a fellow human. They'll have their goals, their past, their present, their quirks and their vices, that you can discover or exploit.

I would love to get your feedback, as I'm still learning the ins and outs of the character creation, but I hope the most that you'll enjoy your time with them!

In my personal preference I usually use an Author's Note like this, and all of my welcome messages are written with it in mind: [Instructions]: "Keep your response limited to around paragraphs, two or three sentences in each. Indicate "dialogue", inner thoughts and narration. You don't always know how you feel. Avoid repeating yourself. Don't narrate {{user}}'s dialogue. Sometimes brag about your physical features in your inner thoughts"
